A bit of un update on my delays....
Apparently Conveyancing Warehouse has been phoning and hasseling the council for the for the return of my Local Authority search for the past few days. Promises of it being faxed to them have been havn't been honoured.
No surprise really, as I've just spoken to the local authority and after checking and double checking they have no record of a search being carried out on the property address I'm buying.
It seems like I'm being lied to by someone.
A very unhappy bunny here indeed.0 -
We had this alot towards the end. In the end if my sol wasn't available or was away from her desk  I called back every 15 minutes until I got to speak to her. It didn't take long for them to realise I wasn't going to let them ignore me. Keep bugging them, after all its your hard earned money they are getting at the end of it.
I have the same experience - they're never available, you have to keep phoning them (my assigned contact is a Ms Sadek).
My purchase has been going smoothly so far until I heard that my buyer's solicitor & the EA have been unable to get hold of them for some time now.
I'm also selling with them, and I haven't had a single word from them since the EA sent out the memorandum of sale - which was over two weeks ago! Surely I should have received something in writing from my solicitors by now? Like some questionnaire's to fill in etc?
Apparently the proposed completion day is beginning of August, but I have my doubts whether with conveyancing warehouse I will hit that date.
My advice: stay clear.0 -

I suggest you phone up and ask anyone who answers your call what is the companies complaints procedure. And make sure you get specific details i.e. spelling of the names of people who to complain to.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Spoke to CW again on Friday and apparently they use an agency to do the searches and thats why the council are not aware of any searches. So why oh why was they always refering to the council all this time??
Anyway, they said they will have my searches back on Monday and if everything is ok we should be ready to complete on 29th of this month. Which is the best time for us and the vendor.
Guess we will have to wait and see though I cant say I've got a lot of confidence in them now.0 -
I can only echo the complaints already made in the previous posts. After good reviews on here a couple of months ago, I also chose CW as I am only selling and not purchasing. I get fobbed off with lots of excuses and have never yet spoken to Catharine the solicitor, just Zoe the assistant who has not returned my calls. I dont have time to hassle them all day but its getting very frustrating for me and my purchasers cos all we want to do is move on...
However, having bought and sold 8 houses in the past 20 years, I don't believe they are any worse than local solicitors - just not that close to pop in and hassle them face to face!0 -
Phoned them again today and after several tries (away from desk, on the other line, in meeting etc  ) I finally got through.
The searches where not recieved today as promised last Friday  It's looking more and more unlikely now that we can complete on the 29th. I feel that they are doing nothing at all to expidite the matter.
I think I need to write a strongly worded complaint to Sarah Bushell, who is one of the partners for Roberts Solicitors (AKA Conveyancing Warehouse) but cant find her email address. It`s not on their website and the business card I received from them states info@robertssolicitors.co.uk, which is a general info address which from prior experience on these boards get ignored.
Has anyone else had to email her in the past who could pass it on to me? It would be much appreciated. :beer:0 -

It's sarah@domainname...
I'm about to Email her, just found out my allocated Solicitor has gone on holiday and have no clue whats happening. Just been told Sarah Bushell is dealing with it now. I've been waiting to sign the contract for a week. Can not speak to anybody of consequence. I'm a bit cross!!!
By the way, has anybody ever received an SMS, "when important stages are reached on your transaction". I certainly haven't.0 -

have you had any luck with Sarah Bushell? i'm trying to get through to her about something that should have been done last week and is holding up progress0 -
I've found Sarah herself to be very helpfull although difficult to get hold of. If you phone and they say "they will call you back" just say, "thats ok, i'll hold". Works for me.0

SNAP!!
She was off ill the day before she went on holiday unless I contacted the office I would not have had a clue that she was away. I wrote a snotty letter to Sarah Bushell and recieved a reply later in the day. I've had to Email her this morning regarding some missing documents which should have been included with a letter, nothing yet!!0
