Thats great news.
I have signed the provisional contract and sent my deposit, which they would have received and be cleared on Thursday 28th. I sent an email last night asking for an update on matters and to make sure the funds have been received. I now put a read receipt on all my emails I send to Roberts and it seems at 10:46 it still hasn't even been read. I shall phone this afternoon to get an update (If I'm lucky).
I have put forward a completion date for the 9th July - wishful thinking!!0 -
I will keep my fingers crossed for you.. Good Luck0

Apparantly their email systems have been down all day. Spoke to Sarah Bushell this morning who promised to chase for a completion date by end of day. Just phoned back (4:17) but was on the other line, I held for 10 minutes. Promised a call back, I doubt it!!!0

another update:
we paid in total £750 ish for a purchase (including vat-everything). the quote we received on the website was £601, so my advice before you go with CW is double check the price (even though we did!). You will prob find this with most sols, there are always additional costs-additional searches, SLDT form completion etc-lots of little things that add up.
we complete on the 4th july and actually i cant grumble about CW. Their communication via letters has been good-BUT they are not so good at returning calls. I let things happen at their own rate in the first month after i instructed them, and then i started giving them a ring 1 or 2 times a week and then in the last week/2 weeks before completion/exchange i have been on the phone every other day.
I wouldn't say they need pushing, but then again neither us or the vendor is in a chain and I think the vendor was eager to sell asap.
They are by no means 'conveyancing from hell' or owt.Respond to every call that excites your spirit.0 -
Well, we have got to the stage of waiting for searches and additional enquiries but, so far, fingers crossed, Sarah and Rania have answered my emails on the same day and I have managed to contact both of them by phone.:j
Judging by some of the posts on this thread, I am counting myself lucky at the moment and hope my luck holds out until completion or, even better, that they have sorted out any problems they had!;)"A" is for Opple if yowm spaking loike a yamyam!0 -
Just an update - Completed on Friday 6th so all settled now.
Good Luck for your moves.
Considering CW were £600-£700 cheaper than many of the solicitors I had quotes from. I am one very satisfied customer.
Good Luck with your moves.0 -
Hello all, this is my first post on the site, but I have been reading avidly about online conveyancing for the last 6 weeks.
I chose to use Conveyancing Warehouse as the quote they gave me was too good to refuse and 6 weeks after putting in our offer we have completed today.
Caroline Greene was my assigned worker. We mainly corresponded through fax and email and altough her manner was short and to the point (as is de rigeur for solicitors) she always responded promptly and informatively.)
I must point out that we are first time buyers with no chain, and the vendor had no chain. This made everything so simple.
The total bill for thier service is just over £800 which is considerably more than the initial £219 they quoted (but that is only for thier fees - a trick to watch). We were delighted with this as all other quotes we received were over £1000.
I'm off to pick my keys up now!!!!
I worried I had taken a gamble using them, but I have had no problems at all. I hope this is helpful.0 -
We have been assigned Caroline too and shes been great. Prompt to respond to any queries.0

Our online quote from Conveyancing Warehouse has been GBP 610.07, the real costs - after receiving the address - were GBP 1,047.01. The discrepancy was among other things the costs for local searches but also for additional searches and services, we wanted (or had to) add. At the end, CW as still about GBP 300 - 400 cheaper than a local high street solicitor or someone in Greater London.
Obviously, everybody had good and bad experiences with either CW or a local one, if you're lucky, you're lucky
And what can I say? We've exchanged today :j : From receiving their first e-mail to exchange today, it has exactly been 5 weeks and 3 days!!
The only time I spoke to Kay, Catharine's assistant, was today when she told me the other side is ready to exchange and if we would like to proceed. Everything else was sorted by e-mails and my lengthy questions (as not familiar with buying houses and not a native speaker) have been answered within 24 hours, all explanations and answers clear and easy to understand.
Spotless :T
