I'm with them too, and so far very efficient. When I sent them proof of my IS and instructed them they sent a letter back to me and to my & vendors solicitors the same day. I have a direct line to my solicitors assistant who is very friendly and efficient. I also like the fact that you can do the SDLT form yourself saving about £35.

Sao far so good, (hope I haven't jinxed it!!)
  • Also with conveyancing-warehouse and so far can't complain at all. The only delay has been caused by our vendors' (no doubt more expensive) solicitors who 'forgot' to send the contract paperwork to conveyancing-warehouse. Conveyancing-warehouse have turned the paperwork around very quickly and I've had no problem getting through to the switchboard when I've called them.

Hoping to complete by the end of October - conveyancing-warehouse have said they'll try their best to hit this target. I'll be amazed if we pull it off but so far so good....

Decided to go with conveyancing warehouse. Can't really add to others comments as its going exactly as others have mentioned. Let you know how it turns out.
  • Do Conveyancing Warehouse have a good turn around time though or do they take a while? Also, just looked at the FAQ on the website and it says that the quote offered is not the final quote. Have people experienced much in difference from the quote online to the actual cost?

What does "IS" stand for and "SDLT?"

From your previous message - the final amount charged will vary because not all disbursements (surveys etc..) cost the same, also the scope of the work may change slightly for example you may need to complete in a shorter timescale (this costs a little extra)

IS? I think that is the proof of identity to prevent money laundering (I sent my passport and had it back within days)

SDLT is the stamp duty form - this has to be completed (either by you or CW for a extra fee) and sent to the Inland Revenue within a time period after completion)

I have just instructed CW so will keep you guys posted.

I was with Countrywide property lawyers who we had a total communications breakdown with. Im not saying they are bad, just that on this occassion, they could have been better.
  • I've just instructed CW online too for a purchase only. What happens if the survey comes back with problems though and a purchase price is renegotiated? Do you just let CW know this?
  • Yes you need to inform them although I'm sure the estate agent would write to them anyway.

They will be the one's dealing with your mortgage company so obviously they need to know how much is needed.
