Sorry Luci seems it was an expensive holiday! As I mentioned earlier if there is any way for them to get out of paying they will use it. I guess they rely on situations like this and people sending wrong bill or forgetting.

I am a little surprised to read the part about not changing tarrif before next cash back due? I was under the impression that we were free to change after the 4 month point and still be able to claim the 2nd cash back?

the lady I spoke to in customer care said it was ok to downgrade at 4 month point with this contract, some on the osps are cashbacks at 6 months and 9 months so maybe the girl got lucis deal wrong. Is it worth ringing up again and requesting to speak to the manager? Good Luck as but for the grace of god and all my mates on here go I.
I was lucky the others pointed me in the right direction.

ps its the connection date that is the important date as Zain pointed out earlier on.

could you not try using somebody elses proof of posting & try to bluff it out that they lost it their end.for example i still have mine dated 19 june & delivered on the 22 june, which is within the time scale.obviously if you did this you should tell them you can produce the photo copys & not the originals as they have lost them.

Thank you for the kind suggestion Paul, but they would probably say that proof of posting is not proof of delivery.

Since calling them I have received a letter saying the date for claiming has passed, the decision is final and they will not reply to any further correspondence.

Bad luck Luci....I really feel that there is nothing you can do about it. This is how they make money after all. Just make sure that you don't lose out on the next cashback. My second one is due this month and i will be away for part of it.. so i am getting a little nervous about it too. Well lets see what happens.

Received my first £150 cashback cheque yesterday. No problems, connected on 5th March billing date 10th each month and sent the bill I received in June. I was a little slow in sending the claim off but sent it recorded delivery and received the cheque about a week later.
Very relieved after reading all the reviews on OSPS.

I'm still a bit worried about the 6 month cashback and whether they will honour it if I change tariff early.
If I do change tariff when do I need to ring Orange?
As it is such a good deal with the free phone and calls pondering on whether it might be wiser to stay on the existing tariff until after the six months. That way would be less worried about getting the cashback and would have the benefit of two further months of free calls which has reduced my landline rental to just the line rent. I appreciate it would no longer be a 'freebie' deal but nevertheless still a good deal.

Also looking at the OSPS site see they have a £210 cashback deal on the Samsung A800 when take out the Your Plan 200(400 for first six months) at £30 per month.
This seems as good deal as we are already on but I'm happy for someone with better knowledge of mobiles and contracts to correct me if I'm wrong. (Are crossnet calls at any time the same as peak calls to any network/landline?

    Any views/suggestions?
    Thanks.

I called OSPS and asked them when i can change tariffs and they gave a me a date which i stuck to. I am due to send off my 6 month claim when i receive my bill in two weeks time and yes i am worried. I am waiting for the catch- despite having no problems with my 4 month cashback! I thought about remaining on the same tariff for another couple of months but there was no way i was using anywhere near £45 per month of calls.-I also wanted a freebie.
They have changed their terms and the deal is no longer available which is reassuring and suggests everything will be ok. If all works out - i will probably start another deal llike the one you describe above, triplea35. It sounds about right.
  • first time i've had contract, all this is a bit scary.

has anyone had problems with claiming cashback from onestopphoneshop on 3g , as i'm due to claim mine soon. hope i've got it correct that i have to claim after 6 months or else i'm in trouble. ??? :-X :-/
