Back up to 44p per litre today via boilerjuice. The excuse that the price has moved due to production restraint is yet another example of the oil companies lying.

When the crude price dropped a few weeks ago we were old a commensurate reduction 'would take time to filter through'. Now there is talk of a cut in production, the price reacts immediately, in an upward direction.
Strange given that the price of crude has fallen below $60 today, seems yet more companies 'rebuilding their balance sheet'

Spoke to someone at Total Butler concerning the prices filtering down and this is what was explained.

Prices rose in July August to an all time high with prices reaching 65ppl. The price of a barrell was $170.00 and the exchange rate was $2 to the £1. As all prices are dealt with in $, even the decrease in POB(price of barrels) and the decrease in EROD(exchange rate of dollars) the decrease hasent been that obvious.

$ to the £ 1.521 as it stands today.

    POB under $60 per barrell.

If you consider that the price at the pumps for diesel was say 90ppl before the increase. And the POB easily doubled the price at the pumps should have followed and doubled so we should have been paying 180ppl. The cost of transport refining has remained the same throughout the whole process.

Personally its not the oil companies that I complain about it the TAX that GB puts on it that makes the difference.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

  • I have just moved to East Anglia from 'up't nerth' where I had gas central heating. I now have oil central heating and wonder if anyone could recommend a good company down here as my tank is getting low.

My husband has just checked the price here in the Coleraine area of N Ireland and was quoted £190 for 500 litres, which works out at 38p per litre.

It was 46p a couple of weeks ago.

    Will it go much lower?
