N Ireland is across the water from Anglesey, so nobody would deliver there from here. Try ringing around all your local oil suppliers, you can get a list of those in the near vicinity by Googling it.
Best wishes , ps do not leave it too long to fill up, there again who knows!!
Our petrol well down today to 99.9, but the oil is not following it.

I don't use oil but from what I hear on the news (OPEC - reduced output) I would think the prices will go back up again soon.
  • Did a bit of research this morning. Postcode B79 (Tamworth, Staffs), for 900 litres 28 second
    Boilerjuice, 49.99 plus VAT (£472 for a fill-up)
Oilepricecheck web site £397.19 for a fill-up, couldn't understand where to buy it from though!
Total Butler, no answer after hanging on for ages
Shell (EMO) answering message for a while, then disconnected
Evesons 40.5 plus VAT (£382.73 for a fill-up). Sounded very pleasant and keen to do business.
    Q8 43.09 plus VAT
    Oakley 41.85 plus VAT
Watson Petroleum 44.95 plus VAT (usually they will drop a penny or two to match or beat another price but not this time)

    Ordered form Evesons.
    Hope this helps somebody.
  • AID ( 0845 370 5500 ) should be able to deliver in your area. Please consider getting a price from them and adding it to your post as they have often been the most competitive in the Staffs area.

We were given just under 40p at the end of last week and expected some more downward movement, but maybe it has bottomed out so will also have to make a decision.

Yep, as my above post, I think they are still ripping us off, we paid 41.5 a week ago in Anglesey, regards oap

ps Oil price check are not far out, been doing a check against them for over 6 weeks, and after all it is an average, but pretty helpful.

It's possible to predict the cost of heating oil by comparing it to the lowest priced diesel in your area - say in a 20 mile radius - which in my area is always ASDA
Forecourt diesel prices include VAT @ 17.5% and Fuel tax of 50.35pence, so divide diesel price by 117.5 and x it by 100 to establish it's cost ex VAT, then subtract 50.35p to get the taxes free price - The price of Heating Oil before the 5% VAT, should be points of a penny below this cost and any supplier who wants more is milking the margin.
Of the six local suppliers I phone, there is always one offering a price that meets this criteria, but not the same one on every purchase.
Heating oil's nearest relative is actually jet fuel, but this is sold by the tonne and I can't find any information as to how many litres there are to the tonne, nor what the daily prices for jet fuel are - Anyone know of a route to this information?

Approximately 1,238 litres per metric tonne, so that pans out currently at 34.1p per litre.

British Airways spent £2.1 billion on jet fuel last year and get it at c34.1p per litre - I just bought 1,000 litres at 41.7p per litre so by spending £2,099,999,583 more they got an 18% discount.

I would use Boilerjuice if I was them.

Back up to 44p per litre today via boilerjuice. The excuse that the price has moved due to production restraint is yet another example of the oil companies lying.

When the crude price dropped a few weeks ago we were old a commensurate reduction 'would take time to filter through'. Now there is talk of a cut in production, the price reacts immediately, in an upward direction.
