Hi, ive just received my shopping through home shopping from asda, as i was unpacking it felt something sticky on the back of my packet of rice looked to see what it was and there was a piece of chewed up chewing gum stuck to the packet!
I suffer with OCD so i cant stop washing my hands now its creeped me out! triggered off my hand washing again just as i was getting better
Ive just emailed them complaining as obv its disgusting i just rang my mum who regularly shops there too and she was appalled at what id found!
would you be expecting a bit more as an apology for finding something like this?, i spend over £100 with them each shop i do and im really not happy

I take it you are expecting compo from them? How does that solve the problem? Do you expect them to check every item in case some chav has put chewing gum on it?Gone ... or have I?0

I think thats gross, a member of their staff has spat out their gum with no regard to the very people that keep them employed yuk. Shame on the posters that think an apology would do them.0

How do you know it was a member of staff - I am not aware that chewing gum can speak?Gone ... or have I?0 -

it is gross but it has not affected the shopping in any way , a replacemet bag of rice as goodwill and an apology is all i would expect .

I too was shocked and appalled about this.
What's needed is an apology along these lines:-

Is it? You make a lot of unfounded assumptions!Gone ... or have I?0 -
Gosh you are all very understanding, I would want my bag of shopping replaced at least, if anyone thought it was ok to just peel off someone elses gum from my food then I am on my own. I would feel very sick at the thought of that. Someone's spit in my bag of food...0
