You might need to consider how noisy it is?

Since we have an open plan kitchen and dining area the amount of noise a dishwasher makes was a very important consideration. The last one one had was a cheap Indesit and was so loud you couldn't answer the phone in the kitchen. We replaced it with a Bosch which is so quiet you can't be sure you've switched it on. It's also A rated for energy.

Hi! After reading a number of reviews on dishwashers on this site, we settled on the Beko DWD 5410 and purchased it from Comet. The dishwasher is brilliant! It has a short 35 degree wash cycle that brings most things out crystal clear. It is really quiet as well (you have to put your ear to the door to hear if it is filling!!) Having previously had a Miele for the last 14 years, we have found this to be better in terms of washing the contents!
The only downside is that there is an art to stacking the top rack, but you soon get used to it!!
All in all a fantastic purchase and thanks to all those who recommended it!!

I'm glad you're happy with it, but when it does goes wrong don't expect to be able to obtain parts for a Beko.

Bosch ! Bosch ! (Had to say it twice, it wouldn't let me post it once ! - but having put this explanation in, I could have put it only once. No I couldn't, because I wouldn't have had to put the explanation then - Oh rats !)

Our Exxcel has just gone after three years, only alternative I've come up with so far is a siemens as they're offering a five year warranty - shame its just a posh bosch though

    Miele, Seimens or Bosch.

Whichever you get make sure you get the cutlery DRAWER not the cutlery basket.
  • We too need to replace our dishwasher (replacing an AEG which didn't last as long as our first AEG. John Lewis and one or two others are offering Rangemaster ones but this is not a brand we are familiar with. Any comments or advice on Rangemaster dishwashers? Thanks.

We just purchased this http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/450480/SIEMENS-SN25M830GB from a local Euronics dealer for £429 incl 5 yr warranty. It has the cutlery basket as opposed to the drawer and suits us better as it's the opposite end of the kitchen to the cutlery drawer ;-)
