Nandos in Worcester is great for good food on a night out. It is a few doors from the Vue cinema on Friar Street and extremely reasonable for food. Relaxing atmosphere and licensed too.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

  • Our local Beefeater in Gravesend were doing £8.99 each for two courses, which included sirloin and rump steaks on a pretty good menu selection, with choice of either a starter or a dessert and for an extra £2 you can upgrade to 3 courses, this was Monday to Thursday evenings. Drinks not included so watch out for that, and if you're a habitual tipper then allow for that too, but the steaks were superb and cooked very well too.
  • ooh nice thread. i never eat out myself but i will have to recommend a brilliant little restaurant to you owned by my mum :p
It's called Mamma Mia Restaurant & it is just outside of Glossop, Derbyshire. A little village called Hollingworth. The full address is 98 Market Street, Hollingworth, Via Hyde, Cheshire.
You might think I'm bias but it is cheap & very good quality food. They also do an early bird menu which is very good value for money. It has been going for about 18 years I think now (Was also shown in league of gentlemen with the restaurant scene - they came & filmed but it was made to look very different so you might not recognise it!).
Anyhow, I would give you the website address to look at but it's not up & running at the moment since I'm in the middle of redesigning it. However, I'll give you the address anyway & it should be up again very soon https://www.mammamia-restaurant.co.uk
It would be really cool if you did go, & let one of the waitresses know you are from here :D Everyone is really friendly & my sister works there almost everynight & knows this forum ;)

In Staffordshire there is a chain of bistros called Pastiche, they do a 3 course lunch menu for £5 and a 3 course evening menu for £10, the food is a bit different e.g. pork streaks with blue cheese mash and apricot gravey (from evening menu). The food tastes devine, the drinks are very expensive (usually have a jug of water) but this place is well worth a visit, I know of Pastiche in Stafford, Lichfield, Cannock, Burton-on-trent, really good menu that changes monthly. They have a website https://www.pastiche.co.uk

with great portions. best sunday lunch with as much veg as you want and home made desserts. cost £9 each for main course but worth it.
  • Brewsters/Brewers Fayre nearly always have a downloadable printable voucher off of either a meal for two or a meal for four. Save £5 generally and some of them have a play area for the tots.
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults

CoCo noodle bar chains are the best! Kinda like Wagamama's but with Thai, Chinese and a much bigger variety of foods. Is also around 1/3 of the price of Wagamama's! My main meal cost 3.20 and the most expensive is around £4!! The portions are epic and the drinks are quite cheap (£1 a glass of lemonade... not cheap but cheap for resturant food!) Truly truly epic portions... am still full and its 7.30pm, i ate there at 2pm!!

There's one in Ilford in Essex and Romford in Essex. I believe there's one in Ealing as well.

nando's also do a loyalty card scheme, you get stamped every time you spend 5pounds and you can get 1/4 chickens for free and if you keep collecting you can get a whole chicken for free!! you need around 8 stamps for a full free chicken, but only 3 stamps for a free 1/4.
