There are some women who would move in with you in a flash and happily be dependent on you for the rest of your days. Jackie isn't one of them. She also loves her son very much.
What a shame you can't appreciate those things instead of putting a price on your relationship.0 -
Having just read this whole thread the OP seems very familiar:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0

Hiya Martin, I'd like to help, but I'm not sure I understand what investment you are making?
Well simply because Martin has avoided answering direct questions asking him what his 'investment' actually entails, I'm now of the belief that Jackie is financially independent and any 'wasted money' only actually occurs in his head. His original post was entirely misleading.
He just wants her to move in as he thinks she would share the costs therefore halving what he would need to shell out.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Yes. I think so too. It appears that the £5k is hypothetical and imaginary, and despite the OPs insistence that the only thing he is interested in discussing is the £££ no hard numbers have been forthcoming, just this mythical £5k from a news article.
Martin, there are people who can help on DFW. None of them will move in with you and pay your bills but they will help you to get to grips with your situation.0 -
i think he knows he is in the wrong that is why he has asked us in teh thread title whether we think he is callous

I'm far too busy to run the figures.I trust what the article says....It certainly feels like she's wasting 52 x £100 a week renting when there is a bed (or two) here for her to start with.
Desoite all the vitriol ...i'll ask again.Do you think that this is an acceptable arrangement when we are both 65 and the Son is 40....be honest please!!0 -

No, I don't think it is. The sooner one of you ends the relationship the better!0 -
