When I am driving along a DC, with my 2 sec gap to car infront, if someone does come up my rear, I personally wash my screen.
You would've liked my friend's old Citroen AX that he bought for his (now ex) GF.
When he bought it, the rear washer, which sits at the top of the hatch on the AX was missing and the previous owner had just pulled the hose through and cable tied it down so that it dribbled water onto the rear windscreen.
My friend decided to fix this and, against my advice, bought a front windscreen washer jet (angled up) rather than the correct one that should be angled down.
First time they actually used it, it sprayed directly onto the windscreen of the tailgater behind. At that point I suggested he add yellow food dye to the rear washer bottle.0 -

Then, and only then, should you dare to leave the confines of your leper's hovel and attempt to transport yourself to normal, human, road-connected destinations! To want to DRIVE on the road, when other people are DRIVING!? How very dare you.
No, when the roads are busy, indicate to show me what you want to do, if joining from a side road I will make eye contact with you (so I know that you are looking as I indicate you out) and if it is safe to do so (having checked my mirrors), I will signal that I am making space for you. I will slow down slightly to open up a gap, but if you don't take it, I won't stop as that really annoys people behind.
If you try and just pull out, then I will not give you space, and as I drive an old car which I don't like, I am not too concerned about collecting some of your paint on my wing.0 -

As I approach the car pulls out into my lane (not MY lane) doing around 40mph.... No problem, I simply brake and pull up behind said car with a 2 second gap (at 40mph), she then hits the washers, covers my car in washer fluid, pulls back across and makes an obscene gesture at me!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
Some people are just complete morons!!! the 2 second rule applies to the speed your doing, NOT the speed limit of the road!
She clearly tried to provoke someone who was otherwise in a calm and peaceful state!
Rant over
The windscreen washer warriors just make me laugh.Oh no!Please don't wet my car it will melt.0 -
Eventually you'll come up against someone like me on the road - I'll refuse to let you in, and you'll lose your no claims bonus because of it. I'll also have a line of witnesses equally annoyed at your lack of consideration. I've done it before even though I have a nicer car than most.....I'd do it again. Worryingly though, that drivers hasn't learned and still queuejumps....maybe it's a trait of queuejumpers - an inability to learn from mistakes.
THERE IS NO QUEUE JUMPING YOU CLUELESS MORON,

The empty lane is empty because of morons like you who are completely clueless about zip merging. Its got so bad that the HA put "USE BOTH LANES" signs on. And you are actually in the wrong by not letting someone in.
To use your own words, eventually you'll come up against someone like me on the road who is in something far larger than you and doesn't own it. I'll be driving home whilst they're still prising your car out of the tarmac.0 -
Cyclists- Honestly never had thought of them, really. Always would have given them room, never shouted, etc, but never really thought about them.
My sister met and married a professional cyclist, and since then it's amazed me the sheer amount of disrespect they're shown.
In January, we did a charity cycle- in memory of my 13 month old nephew who passed away Christmas last year- and I was at the front. Not cycling- I was on the back of a Honda Goldwing with my camera gear, taking photos for their website. The ride and route had been publicised for months with signs on the side of the road, and announcements in the paper.
Rider would give me a tap on the knee if I needed to hold on, as he was aware I wasn't looking forward, and was preoccupied.
We had police backing, and were escorted at points. Still, as we pulled onto roundabouts to stop traffic to allow the cyclists to pass (police helped us here), we got beeped at, people attempting to cut us up, trying to ride through a swarm of over 200 cyclists- why? They're mainly pro's, they'll be past in one minute. Why endanger their lives, for the sake of a minute?
We had people trying dangerous overtaking, a guy in a van trying to force a cyclist off the road, and general swearing and abuse. It didn't ruin our day- nobody was hurt.
The motorcycles got abuse as well, one hairy moment for my rider when a car decided he was just going to drive at us, and my rider just sat there- the police were beside us shouting at the man to stop.
I still can't believe some of the attitudes we encountered- nor the danger.
My condolences for your nephew.
Yep - there's a feeling among some people (including some on this thread) that they have an entitlement to drive up to the speed limit on any road, and that anyone in their path should get out of their way. Ignorant and dangerous. My Debt Free Diary I owe:

Fixed it for you
I do agree people should zip as it helps traffic merge without grinding to a total halt.
BUT forcing your way in is as bad as not zipping-in properly (perhaps worse). If someone has to stop to allow Mr Pushy in then every car behind will have to stop. If someone has to slam on the brakes to allow Mr Pushy in the red brake lights will pass up the chain until eventually traffic grinds to a halt."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0 -
Actually, I think Hammyman's comment was reasonable given the threatening nature of the post he was replying to.0

Taxi drivers who turn their hazzard lights on instead of one indicator when dropping a passenger off :mad:0

Hazard light = stationary hazard. Seems reasonable.
Beeping their horn at 11pm to pick up a passenger OTOH.0
