Anything to do with periods! Tampons, towels!! I must have spent thousands over the years. I'm not on benefits, but I reckon women should have an extra allowance once a month if they are. Fat chance now though. Fat chance ever! We're women - pay up & shut up!
PS. I love how our new coalition masters are enjoying themselves. It's a joy to see. Bless.....0 -
Another vote for VAT on tampons. The mooncup is fantastic but many still like to wear panty-liners for peace of mind. Plus although it's a one of cost for the mooncup - thats still got 5% VAT on it!
Another thing that I hate is prescription charges for my asthma medication. I don't understand why other chronic illness prescriptions are free yet my 3 asthma meds cost me over £21 every couple of months.House saving Targets:

Agreed - and when I was on meds for depression too it was a really weighty amount per month.
Even a prepayment cert costs £100 for a year! And if we lived in Wales/Scotland it would be free!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

If you go to the above official UK link, you'll find definitive proof for when you do and DO NOT need a TV Licence.
Many here seem to be a little confused about what you need to do in this regard.
If you do not need a licence at home but have the equipment.... you must let them know.
Hope that helps.** Freebies and money saved with the help of you all? - Don't know ....lost count! **** Stay Safe **0 -
My car is the worst one - it's in the garage now as we speak and I'm waiting to hear the damage

I have thought of another one, that I just think is a complete waste of money, time, trees and effort...............................
Christmas Cards
Don't get me wrong I love Christmas, but just think Christmas cards are totally pointless I can understand maybe if you have rellies or friends that live abroad or elsewhere in the country, but with all this technology is It really needed to send a piece of card, which will cost you money to buy and post? Whats wrong with an E Card or an Email or just say Happy Christmas! We get inundated with cards from neighbours that don't even speak to each other for the rest of the year, bizarre.grocery challenge Sept 2012 £21/£3990 -

for me
1. tv license - i mean what do we pay it for? the amount of rubbish that they feed us how could they justify its price?
2. birthday cards/ apart from being a complete rip off they can cost anything up to a tenner, which i usually give as a gift anyway, two days later they get binned!0 -
Tampons, liners etc - we certainly don't choose to have periods!
Hate paying for the minimum of an hours parking when you know you are only going to be 5 mins
Seems unfair to pay tax on savings interest when i've already been taxed on my salary. If I'm managing to save then it's so nasty when the taxman takes some of it awayMS Stalwart. Used site for >10 years :jMake Do, Mend and Minimise member - focussing on upcycling/repurposing and sewing0
