That's not quite it. If a trader is simply snapping up low priced items and selling them on at a higher price then fair play to him, that's trade and nothing wrong with that.

If the trader has listed an item in order to deliberately manipulate the prices to a level where they can snap stuff up cheaply- then that is dishonest dealing.

While Zoverstocks pricing algorithms are difficult to compete with, they are not in any sense morally or legally wrong. Annoying as they are, the annoyance does not justify malicious behaviour in order to get back at Zoverstocks.

Every play customer got an email from them today stating that they had been hacked and somehow all addresses had been compromised ... Theres a thread in the techie forum about it. It wasnt down to one person posting on here.

how is that fraud fraud is when you steal somthing you are not stealingso that is not fraud and jeff bridges how would you know what caused the email from play it if you read thickjames's post he had problems with a company z#########s about send his details to other email addresses and low and behold everyone gets an email from them saying that someone has passed personel things around i had the same problem 3 months ago he [james] was sending my emails to other people and bombared my email address with spam and junk mail i also about 2 mounthss ago start getting mail throw the post from like pampers,autotrader,cow and gate,haribo,and loads more saying that i had opened accounts and free samples zoverstocks are like babies cause they know they cant win cause what they are doing is braking the terms and conditions as well:eek:

I have been questioning about posting on here for a few days, zoverstocks are my biggest competitor, I am in the top 10% of sellers on one of the platforms they sell and to be perfectly honest, I dont see what the problem people have is.
I would like nothing more than them to not do what they do as it costs me a fortune every day, BUT this is business deal with it, an item is ONLY worth what somebody is is prepared to pay for it if you are not the cheapest it needs to be better than the cheapest.

Alot of the ways we get around not being killed by them is mentioned in this thread,

Frankly, I have spat my dummy about them cutting prices but you get over it, your just annoyed that they have the margain where they can afford to do and fair play to them for setting up a business model for allowing them to do this.


to cover a few other points on here, they will have discounted volume postage through the royal mail, but I have been assured verbally and written in an email from an account manager in play.com they they dont get discounted rates for selling.

There are NO incentives offered by play.com currently for VOLUME sellers,

if they do read this then CUT YOUR FEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ITS A RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have the problem because he is doing wrong in allsorts of areas ie:
slow postage, items not as described, no communication, half of the items he sells he doesnt have hence why the slow postage in the hope that the item arrives, too many refunds for this aswell. Buying his own stuff and leaving feedback to cover the REAL feedback and to keep the % up, targetting schools, reporting people for no reason for doing the same has them. Do I need to go on????

you say that people are buying what they want to pay, well thats easy..the cheapest...ie zoverstocks since when do people buy an item for £15 when this clown is always the cheapest.....its not zoverstocks we want off its the automated rubbish to be banned, not to mention it is slowly screwing up the sites, do you actually want a selling site or an online pound shop, because pick one as it will end up one of them....all because of this prat that shouldnt be trading in the 1st place....just telephone trading standards you will be proven wrong as its very interesing to hear......well people it looks like we have uncovered another person that works for zoverstocks, also I have received emails from my customers saying that they purchased an item from zoverstocks only for the item not to get delivered so they have bought from me....Ive forwarded each email to play.com and copies have been kept incase of trading standards. Also I work in a post-office and have purchased big boxes of items meant to go to zovertocks for a little bit more so I will go and undercut them big time with these items. and I have got their custom in future...Its only local but its an idea to beat them at there own game, I have plans so he will lose in certain areas. I have put in a bad word against zovertocks all over the place as we are sick and tired of it....what all other sellers need to do is basically go on strike and place all items on holiday, zoverstocks prices will be that highly priced that no one will buy, also I am drawing up a petition and have to show this to play.com before emailing people for permition and approval....here are some ways of getting them, and we will eventually.....zovertocks beware

tell us something we don't know zoverstocks are cowboys who just pick fights with people who try to beat them but the thing is they can never win with price manipulation cause they are doing the same thing i will continue to push them as if you do it on a thursday or saturday you will get the items pleasenote they turn the machine off on a friday also after the security breach from and unamed company cough cough zoverstocks cough cough don't worry everyone one day they will get what they deserve:T

im a bit confused with what people have put on here,
1) I dont work for zoverstocks,
2) are you honestly saying there automated software is illegal, i would be more than happy for this to banned.

I not being annoying I just dont see the point in complaining, its life this happens on ebay every day of the week, who complains about that???

I got an email from play yesterday saying it was there third party email server or something

I want to point out I am not arguing from everyone I just wanted to highlight a few points,
I have bought a few things from them that turned up fine,
the problem is they sell so much there feedback will never be affected by a bad transaction. (they get around 100 feedback a day) which I would guess they sell around 500 items a day


to the other seller where do you draw the line with people undercutting you, I drop the price of my goods every few days as low as I can because this game is all about turnover of stock I cant afford to have games sat on shelfs, its just there busy models works a lot quicker.


Not that I want to help you out but you might want to search music magpie not paid me, pretty sure you would get a few more signatures for your petition, I have heard a few rumours that they are quite dependent on sales to pay for there purchases because they are growing very quickly

zoverstocks arent even the worst for this on play, there is another seller who sells items I couldnt even send it for that much?? thats annoying
