price MATCH is the way forward as Chance says

Amazon already do price matching on a lot of items sold by play.com and others, also on non-entertainment items, they must have some monitoring system i suppose

No-one objects to that because it's large companies selling brand new goods and there is a big difference between matching a competitor's price to constantly chipping away a penny at a time

I doubt that zoverstocks would be interested in changing their system to be honest

However the fact that the beast has growled shows that it is rattled :rotfl:

somebody summed it up best in that he wants to own the sites, luckily for us we cope fine as his business model is not likely to affect us as much, due to a few changes,

but as is business if you limit the sellers you can control the price, thats all he wants for every 100 professional seller that leaves play.com it is more custom for him.

it is not fraud as he chose to sell the item at that price and it is anybodies own stupid fault for leaving an automated piece of software to dictate prices!!
this is the same as open market i have heard rumours that a couple of distributors are looking into selling on playtrade, if they do it will kill zoverstocks off and the rest of us,
it is fraud for selling goods you dont have as this is obtaining money by deception, so you may want to be careful on that one.

its business and business doesnt have a conscience, do you think tesco are concerned about the 100 family owned cornershops they put out of business a week, Nope.

You need to evolve and adapt, think outside the box,

i could name nearly every chain in the high street that has a price match less 5% discount?

Zoverstocks whole business model is dependent on a fast cash turnover, hence the lower purchase price,
you dont sell things quickly being the 2nd cheapest you sell them being the cheapest.

yes that's a good bit of marketing by those stores, they rely on how few customers actually check or take them up on it, feeling reassured that the retail store is giving them the best price, and when they do the stores wiggle out of it saying different model specs or within x miles radius etc, the internet is a different kettle of fish entirely; and the savvy shoppers who could be bothered with the instore price match offer will probably be buying online anyway for the best deal!

yeah its fraud isnt it if you sell items you dont own...isnt that right zoverstocks???? zoverstocks is listing the exact same item on multiple sites when he doesnt hold the advertised quantity, then refunds for "failed quality inspection" all the time.....dont start comparing online to high street its totally different, just think everyone will be doing their shopping at the last minute as items will be dropping by 1p all day so if you go at the last minute you might be able to buy a Tv for less than a tenner, also since when do you go into tesco and buy a tin of beans only to have the tin taken off you as it failed quality inspection or even since when do tescos ever sell imaginary items just for the sake of selling invisable items to compete with asda....come on mate you can see zovertocks is in the wrong and you know it, they know it and everyone else knows it...high street is not the same...online rules comes under the distant selling rules meaning zovertocks is in the wrong....tescos have worked up to were they are now, zoverstocks is cheating and ripping people off to get up there but they never will....

the solution is a price matching programme...think about it and you to zovertocks because as it stands this problem will carry on and will never die until things have changed
  • its wrong yes but I dont see how its illegal,
Its immoral and unethical, but not illegal, its his own fault if he gets ripped off as he is stupid enough to have a piece of automated software control prices.

if he was to get investigated for it and only taken offline for a week it would kill his whole business model.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • So James has the time to type threataning emails in response to jokes but hasn't even got the decency to respond to a few genuine questions. I really do think that says it all.

Why waste time fighting petty arguments with people when all he has
to do is come on explain be honest and open and look for a solution.

Can someone tell this blithering goat molesting idiot that the SOLUTION TO ALL OF THIS IS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM.

Come on James we know you're reading this forum so have some balls and come on here and start talking.

Stop being so childish you should be setting an example as you appear to be the only voice for musicmagpie, zoverstocks.

Do you really have any idea what type of an impression you giving, not just of yourself but for the company you work for.

SIGNED ON BEHALF OF ALL GENIUNELY CONCERNED AMAZON AND PLAY SELLERS.
