google netmeter (first result), and it will monitor your internet connection downloads (and uploads too)0

@spud17
the sort of activity you're describing is extremely low.
Assuming that the files you're downloading aren't 700MB Linux ISOs, then yeah, i'd agree with the others, 2GB cap should be plenty.

I never, ever, received any communication from accounts!
@carpystill no members portal access for me despite numerous emails sent
This is beginning to sound like they no longer have the tech support in place to sort out that sort of thing.
Who have you emailed recently?0 -
Like P Rudd I have had problems since 26/11 accessing any sites despite being connected (via my DU) and today same thing.
Only works when I change my Connection settings from "Direct" to "Manual Proxy Setting" but do not understand technically what is going on for one to work when another one does not.
Never received the robbed amounts from Biscit (despite D Miller promising refunds would be personally monitored and would take place 1/11) and all voicemails left (NEVER a live operator and this was even yesterday after Biscit boasted "threefold increase in support staff from 27/11") and emails/letters sent are IGNORED.
Biscit have also failed to respond to an ISPA logged complaint and that has had to be escalated to 2nd level (with only one day left for them to meet that 2nd deadline).
This company seems to avoid meeting any of their voluntary agreements whether by their membership of ISPA/CISAS or their own published claims to support customers.
Have never received any T&Cs from them since the switchover and have had NO member console access since 6/10 despite trying all PW/UN combos.
Am sending daily Ofcom reports hoping the more they read the more they will investigate but that is pure gamble.0 -

Only by having an eyeball to eyeball with my bank. Refunded within 5 days!
Couldn't access the internet this morning at all despite multiple attempts.
Okay at the mo'...I'm NOT political so DON'T correct me!0 -
I have just checked my bank account and ISP have taken payment again! I sent a recorded delivery letter to the address in one of the previous posts on 30/09/06, just checked and it is listed as returned to sender!!! how am I supposed to cancel this damn thing if I cant send them a letter of cancellation. Had to send letter as I no longer have my password to enter members area!
Does anyone have an address they have successfully had a reply from? (not being lazy looking through last lot of pages, have just got out of hospital after having twins and c-section and dont have much time on my hands! this is all I need!!!!)Cats have 9 lives, we only get 1 so live a little! :rotfl:0 -
The sods (V21-take-the-biscit) took £2.90 from my CC this morning.
I have already cancelled my a/c by recorded letter. I am going to contest every charge with my CC provider as they keep taking unauthorised payments: basically every "chargeback" comes with a fine, and Visa and Mastercard are getting very twitchy about companies that receive multiple chargebacks - which is an indication of dubious behaviour, and threaten to cut off their merchant accounts. I personally don't care if either V21 or Netservices go bust as I feel neither company has been straight with us.0 -
Report it to ofcom, I asked for information right at the beginning, and told them I had paid on 15 November, they said if you do not get it back, let us know, well in the end I did it through my bank, decided to ignore writing to Biscit as apparently they never reply, and they ignored my telephone messages, although it is not yet back in my account. Regards oap0

Since I got my account sorted out, I've seen no reason to post, but I still look into this thread most days to see how things are progressing.
Just for reference...
At present (well, last night at least) I'm still managing to get access using the free dial-up. The other night my on-time was 2 hours 20 mins and I broke the connection, not them. I'm keeping a close eye on my CC and so far have only been charged what I should have been on the due date. Still can't get into the members area, but can get email which I'll never use.
I noticed that this thread went into a discusion on broad-band for quite some time, but I was dismayed to see today that some people are still having dial-up trouble! I can't understand how this company is continuing to get away with it. :mad:0 -

If you are not having any trouble at the moment
why cancel.
Hopefully the worse of this fiasco is over.
To cancel send a registered letter to
BISCIT INTERNET LTD.
BERKELEY HOUSE,
HIGH STREET
EDGWARE
MIDDLESEX
HA8 7RP
now press the thanks button
I am just about to cancel my dialup account.......can anyone confirm the above is still the best method to cancel??It is not MY fault that I never learned to accept responsibility!0 -
Hi twins-2-be,
See posting 798 from davidsonsl, who tried registered and got "return to sender". As they now have twins maybe you have both got something in common??
I've now got e-mail, web and everything as far as I can see, - tried the following as recommended on these postings:
DField@biscit.net
He has sorted my account out and is sorting a friends out at the moment.
Worth hanging on for £4.99 or less?? Only you can decide.
