That's good, dialup is a lot easier as you don't have to worry about MACs and so on.
When I was on dialup, you used to be able to dial in from any number, have you tried it from your new one? Though this doesn't solve the problem of the number being wrong, it means you can get online with it. I used to dial up from friends and relatives houses with my V21 connection.
If you do want to cancel, write to them stating when you are paid up till, what date you wish to cancel, and that you do not authorise them to take any more payments after x date. Keep a copy of this, and the bank should refund you any wrong payments under the direct debit guarantee. Send it recorded. It might be best to send to the V21 address and the Biscit one. I sent a letter to each on the 2nd, so far only the V21 one has been signed for, as Biscit mail is redirected. I hear the V21 office is empty now though, but there was definitely someone there on the 3rd.
I can log into the control panel, but then I was never with Fast 4, only V21.0 -

accesssing https://www.v21.co.uk shows the Biscit site and I don't see any such options. Could you please point me to the appropraite option? Many thanks. It is not MY fault that I never learned to accept responsibility!0 -
In the orange side panel on the left is a link saying login.
You can also use this link I think rather than having the stupid little popup window!

Excellent.....I logged on but don't see where my dialup number is specified. I assume you must use a specific phone number and not any phone number? It is not MY fault that I never learned to accept responsibility!0 -
your dialup number does not change when your home number changes... just go to the my account pages, and update your telephone details
belongs, as you phone line is being provided via bt wholesale, then your connection will work from any landline0 -
You can use any number, this is one of the main reasons I picked V21 way back when I had dialup. Some isps restrict you to dialing in from one particular number, but unless something has changed, V21 don't. If you change the address and phone number details, that should be fine. To get there, you have to pick my account from the dropdown menu at the top, then one of the side options has your personal details on it. Whoever designed that 'portal' should be sacked! Oh, they probably have been.0

Something strange, really strange indeed - I haven't had anything to complain about with Biscit for nearly a month now. :rotfl:0

Being on direct debit makes no difference. I was on direct debit and they started taking money on my credit card (they had my credit card number on their records because the first transaction was by this method). Devious or what?0
