FAST4.NET is listed on this site as being the cheapest 24/7 ISP at £4.99 a month. If you look at their web site their 24/7 deal is now £7.99 a month; ...or am I missing something?

The £7.99 per month is a recent price increase, so any information saying it is £4.99 per month is out of date and therefore incorrect. It is £7.99 as far as I can see.Indecision is the key to flexibility0

I signed up with Fast4 for £4.99 Dial-up two months ago having followed the links from this website.
I have been denied access to the service since Thursday 19th and having initially tried the various 0870 numbers gave up and simply watched proceedings on the V2 website.
However, on the 19th October I had £4.99 removed from my Bank Account (paying by Debit Card) which I accepted, but found out yesterday that the same amount had been removed on 20th October and 24th October.
Today I have sent the following email:-
To: accounts@biscit.net
Cc: support@biscit.net
Subject: Fast4 Customer ID 145XXX
Dear Sir/Madam, I believe the above Fast4 account, which I opened two months ago, has been moved to yourselves - this is an assumption because the information I have received is negligable so if I am incorrect then please let me know.
If it is correct can you please tell me why you removed money from my Bank Account on the 19th October 2006 whilst on the same day denying me access to the service( up to time of writing) for which you are charging - I believe this to be fraud.
If it is correct can you further advise as to why you removed similar amounts from my Bank Account on the 20th and 24th October 2006 - I believe this to be theft.
Please reply within five working days of receipt of this email otherwise I shall be contacting the appropriate agencies at that time.
Yours faithfully
XXXXXXXXXX
I await their response with interest.
P.S. I have also 'lost' my Debit Card (on advice from the bank) so that no further money can be withdrawn from the account.0 -
Notanickname - that's a scary story and, as you say, amounts to theft. There are several stories on this thread where more than 1 amount has been taken in any one month, but 3 in 5 days really takes the biscuit (forgive the pun).
I have been keeping an eye on my account also - and after your story, we should all check frequently. Be interested to see their response, and good advice from your bank. It's a shame that banks can't block charges and that the only result is to issue new debit/credit cards.0 -
Geoffo_M wrote:Alared - is that with dialup or BB? I ask because I am on dialup and apart from 10 mins yesterday morning, I haven't been able to connect at all. This was on the old number (08089933025) even though I received the email telling me I was on the new number (08089916234).
Not sure whether I am still with fast4, or now with V21(Biscit)
Geoff
I`m still on dial-up using 08089933025
Have never altered mine or been told to do so.
I got an email about three weeks ago saying I had been transferred to V21.
Apart from the two week period when things went haywire,i`ve not had any trouble connecting.
As I said before, just noticed this last day or so I get dis-connected after exactly an hour.
My £4-99 payment went out by DD as usual and on the correct date.
As long as things continue as they are now,i`m staying with them.
But i must say it`s a complete *alls up for everyone.
If Biscit are trying to keep, upgrade and drum up new customers, they`re going about it in a strange way.0 -
Hi notanickname and Geffo M.
Yes, they took three payments from my account in two days. I have contacted them by emailing their accounts dept and they have agreed to refund the money into the account, but haven't yet.
What was more worrying is that on checking my payments since starting in Dec 04, V21 had also debited my account at random times, resulting in them taking 14 monthly payments last year and 13 times already this year.
Biscit have checked and agreed to refund all but one payment, so I am still in dispute, waiting to hear back from them.
Good luck with getting your money back, I think Biscit is trying, but seem to have bitten off more than they can chew!

This has been a well discussed and known problem with fast4 and V21 in the past.
Twice it happened to me but not the taking of extra payments but the date of each payment creeping back.
They tried to make out the payment should be taken every 30 days ,instead of for instance, the 18th of each month.
After I complained they have stuck to the same day each month for payment.0 -
