Please any of you (all of you?)

If I ever mention fish pie in a meal plan or any such thing - stop me!

I used just about every pan in the place - some of them twice.

The milk poaching the fish boiled over and went all over the hob DH had polished last night.

Then the whole thing spilled over in the oven so that has to be cleaned (needed to be cleaned anyway but that was the last straw:o )

Then DD spat out first mouthful and screamed through the rest of the meal

DS ate his - but picked out the leeks and got me to feed him (he's 4) (I only put salmon in it because he loves salmon) Then said he didn't like it but ate it cos he likes me (can't work out if this is a good development or not. Good I think)

DH was late in, but he at least ate his with gusto.

    Pah. Never again.

DD has wormed her way round me by coming up and asking for cuggols ( new word of the day) and going to beside my bed and getting me my book and offering to read me a 'tory. Think I've done a guilt trip on a 2 year old? Now I feel guilty.

    ho hum

NO MORE FISH PIE (apart from the 4 portions in the freezer that is:rotfl: )

You have my sympathy Peem. I too did a fish crumble (milk boiled over whilst poaching fish). Everything else was ok until it came to eating it. Now I thought it tasted yum (I had seconds) DH 2 mouthfuls and the knife and fork went down, DD1 ate everything else on her plate but didnt like that stuff (fair dos at least she tried it) DD2 spoon fed her veg and potatoes but was not interested in trying it.

Well s*d them all I know what I am having for lunch tomorrow!!

Sending pushing vibes to Michelle - her post made me feel broody (until the 2 and 3 year olds got the better of me at teatime)

    Evening everyone :hello:

:j :j Good luck Michelle! :j :j If it's a boy, are you going to call it Martin? :D

    Happy Birthday ageandjo.

Well, I'm absolutely exhausted! I've been thrown into turmoil about my numeracy plans for the next couple of days.......... I've been told by one person that they're absolutely great, and another has said that they're completely rubbish! Fingers crossed that HMI don't pop in on my Numeracy lessons!

Anyway, I'd better go and get myself sorted out for tomorrow!

    Bye

  • Hi everyone

Been a very good MS Mummy this evening and made packed lunches for DD1 and DS and me! We're off to see the Dinosaurs tomorrow at the Nat Hist Museum. The old me (Pre MSE) would have spent a small fortune in the museum cafe on sandwiches that they probably wouldn't have eaten. New me has got a nutritious lunch for us all to eat that I know won't be wasted! Tried to be proud of myself to DH - but he just thinks I've completely lost the plot!! Ah well - must be bedtime now! Goodnight!

    Hiya all,

Had to try to scramble onto the end of the thread today to say

    :j Good luck Michelle :j

    Happy Birthday Ageandjo :bdaycake:

Good luck Mr P, hope your first day went well and (((((((Big hugs Westy))))))

I've not been able to read for over a week as an otherwise lovely house-guest took over my computer , so big hugs to anyone who has been having a rough time and :T to those lucky people for whom life is good just now.

BM has just beeped and I'm off to iron clothes for work tomorrow then have a bit of a soak in the tub before bed, oh, and a nice hot glass of milk with drop of something a bit nice in it..... :D

OS wise, freezer now has a good few HM ready meals in it for December/January when I won't have time to cook and usually live of the offerings of the local take-aways. This weekend I want to add a couple of soups to the stock pile if I get the chance, probably leek and potato and maybe a lentil one, as they are my cold weather faves.

    Jx

My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

  • "Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 18/10/06. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well."

    Morning !!

Just first of all wanted to know if anyone has heard from Michelle yet?? Hopefully she is a mummy by now!

I would like to say a huge thanks to this thread for the various messages, pm's & hugs etc received, you are so nice & are so much what the forum is about. Thanks once again, you will never know how much it means :A

Hi thriftlady... I was interested in this... what is it like? We've just picked a load of quince apples and didn't know what to do with them...

Do you have a decent recipe?

    Tx bm

    Hi Bertie,

I've been using thriftlady's method of making jellys for a few weeks now and they're fantastic. :T

Have a look here to see how she makes them. I'm sure she'll post a recipe for you tomorrow.....errr later today. :o
