Oh noYou've just reminded me (gggrrrrr lol), I used fabric glue to stick the hem on my curtains and it didn't work. I've been meaning to sew them for ages but I keep forgetting. I'll have to do them now

:hello: Goooood Morning fellow OS'ers, especially those having to w**k today
Isn't it funny how life works out, there I was with my Freedom from smoking plan to begin and Monday and blow me if I didn't get knocked off my feet with some kind of flu like virus! Talk about timing, brilliant! :T Felt like 'can't smoke, won't smoke'; so, if the first few days are reputedly the 'worse', it should all be a doddle from now on (I hope!)
Back to nurse this afternoon to get my next lot of patches. How's ya doing SOMO1? Posi-"freedom"-vibes have been sent you way daily
I'm still far from 100% but getting better by the day - have to be well for tomorrow, the school are having a Boot Fair and I'm on gate duty with the PTFA between 0700-1030hrs. At least I get first dibs and I do like a rummage
Nice to see you Bertie :hello: good to have another male perspective. Hope you're enjoying not w**king any more. Good luck with your doughs and have fun with your g/children.
D12yo made a Victoria Sponge in Home Ec on Wednesday and even though I didn't have an apetite, I did have a taster; it was really good! Strangely though, they are being marked on how it was decorated which I find rather oddHe's not artistic in any way shape of form, so if being able to make witches from marzipan are going to be the final scores on the doors rather than the actual success of the cake ... well, best he doesn't get his hopes up
As for the cake, the texture was light, the taste was .. Vicky Sponge flavour, so I've given him 9/10.
OS'ing today won't be anything major because I'm getting breathless incredibly easily which means getting tired quickly too, so I'll content myself with ignoring the hoovering, ignoring the ironing pile, the bed changes can wait a day or two longer; I'll still to putting something in the BM, grabbing some odd's and sod's from the freezer putting it in the SC and calling it dinner.
Thank you for the PM's :T :T
Welcome to any fresh faces, ((hugs)) for those who need them and wishing you all a fun Friday ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Morning everyone
I was up incredibly early today expecting a fridge repair man between 8 and 1, and lo and behold, he has actually arrived and gone. Fridge isn't fixed, but what do i expect? a miracle? Apparently the first guy just plays with his computer and tells you what is wrong, and then someone else has to come and fix the problem. I tried to hurry it with, i have less than 2 weeks till my baby is due, and we will struggle to guarantee to be in.
At least i don't have to wait around now all morning. My dad didn't get admitted to hospital yesterday because there were no beds. He has a nasty ulcer, that has gone all through to the bone, and they were talking nasty things like skin grafts or amputations. It hasn't healed well because he has a protein and calcium deficiency.
Cue much ranting from me at my mother about what she has been feeding them. Well, not ranting as such, just a strong chat, where i felt more like the mother. It was only last week she had a dig at me about home cooking.
So, today, i will be going to my local chemist and buying my dad some sort of supplement. And i will be nagging some more at my mother to make her cook properly for him, as he may still go to hospital, or he might be bed confined at home. Either way, not good for his moral.
Sorry, a very whingy post from me. I will go and get these tablets, and then take them to my mum and discuss meal planning with her some more. So much for being able to relax at the end of my pregnancy.
Michelle, xx0 -
Morning all
Good news at the hospital yesterday - endless rounds of blood tests etc to go through now but the cyst isn't going to be a problem - I'm now offciaily classed as "Secondary Sub Fertile" - Which basically means I've managed it before - why the h*ll can't I do it again lol.
Today I will make banana cake - got side tracked yesterday, will also make some rolls for the freezer as I've just run out, need bread too. Dinner tonight will be chicken curry - so late back last night we ended up popping to lidl for a frozen pizza and garlic bread - went down very well but had such a raging thirst afterwards - far too much salt obviously.
Got some friends visiting tomorrow from Germany - they've over doing a relatives visit up and down the country - finishing with a day with us and taking us out for a meal before jumping back on the Channel Tunnel for the drive home, will do something suitably touristy (fingers cross for the weather to stay nice).
My mother has decided she'd like a years supply of her favourite shampoo for christmas - says there's nothing she needs so could we all just buy her toiletries, fair enough - would much rather get her something she needs rather than something she'll stick in the cupboard and never use, got about £20 of boots points to use up so that will help.
Right I'm off to make stuff and might even offer the builders a bit of cake - they've worked like troopers - 2 older men (both grandads) and they don't stop, in the 3 whole weeks they've been here they've dug out foundations, filled, knocked down the original extension, built the new one and yesterday the roof timbers went up and then the felt and battons went on.....still loads more to do but I'm really impressed at the speed they're working.
Hope you all have a great day....and Queenie --- well done on the nonsmoking thing - really pleased for you."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning everyone :j
Thanks Queenie for the vibes about not smoking :T I am now on day 7, I had a bit of a wobble yesterday, but got through the day, and have managed to save £29.75 so far by not smoking - which is my incentive. Good luck, and I am also thinking of you daily - I don't care what anyone says it's b****y hard  Hope you feel better soon as well.
(((((hugs)))) to all that need them.
Today DD is going to a swimming party straight after school, so she won't be back till about 7.00pm. So tea tonight will probably be tacos for DH and I.
Better dash (cos I'm at work)
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -

Dr did not phone her at all yesterday which i think is just awful! even just to say take painkillers etc:mad:
Anyway, loads to do today, but cant be bothered! got to hoover, dust, cleanup, do dishes, clothes away, washing on need i go on, having one of those days where i need motivating:rotfl:

Morning :hello:
Only the second time I've dropped in but I was blown away with the welcome on Thursday, thanks
Weather is nice so wm is on ( see, getting the hang of this!)
I usually run around on my days off shopping for family members, but today my lovely friend is insisting we go out for lunch so looking forward to that.
Michelle, try to get supplements for your dad which are as well as meals, instead of in place of meals. They do loads from fruit juices to milk shake type of drinks which have loads of proteins etc. If you get his GP to prescribe them they will be free. Can the district nurse not dress his ulcer at home??
Bye for now Westy xNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -

Right, off to make coloured cakes with the little ones!!!!0 -
Morning all.
Friday the 13th, I hope that's not an omen because I have to go to the dentist today.
I have a whole weekend of processing to look forward to rosehips for rosehip syrup, sloes for sloe gin and haws for hawthorn jelly.
After staying up late making lunch for today I forgot to lift it on the way out the door.
Friday 13th has started.....
Hope everyone is keeping well and no one has any disasters today. My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.
