Morning folks!
had a day off from the puter yesterday - OH decided to upgrade (we run linux and it needed doing) so that took the puters down most of yesterday. Probably just as well that i was out most of the day anyway, shopping in town.
Picked up some bargains: whole nutmegs for 10p each, which i'm so pleased with cos nutmegs cost a fortune, some new boots for £15 (the same as a pair i wore to death a while back, so v. pleased with that), and some wired ribbon for decorating xmas pressies, 3 huge rolls for £2.50 in a sale. Also got a big tub of ceramic beads for just over £3, for making small bags of beads that you can nuke and get the heat from (pressies). oh and in Tescos i took advantage of the two tins of chocolates for £10 offer, supposed to get 3 tins for mom (she buys 2 extra, one for work, one for choir) and a litre bottle of brandy (doing the mincemeat tomorrow) but ran out of cash so i got to go back today.
So today: back to tesco, go to pick up the upholstery nails, and then to Aldi to pick up a few bits n pieces there. The christmas fund is looking good n healthy, the pressie stash is building up, slowly... i'll get there, eventually!!
hope everyone has a good day...

Hi everyone,
PP you are the only person I know who is glad to have their hospital appt cancelled, but I do sympathise with what a nightmare you must find it all.
Kiwi, I did laugh but having done similar things myself I'm sure you felt sick when it happened.
Got to pack and travel to BIL's funeral tonight so not much old style - will even be eating a ready meal for speed, sorry everyone.

MADE IT!! DD2 and I are back in one piece. I parked in the Tesco car park as its the only one I've every drivin in before but I did manage to do a bay reverse park *proud*. Went to the shops and bought some P plates for car and a lollipop for DD for being a good girl, popped in to see DH then home. I even reversed into the space to get DS from preschool.
I have however taken a closer look at the damage done by the tree stump yesterday. Took off the front grill to see and I've broken a bit of balck plasticy looking stuff. Am going to ring the garage in a mo to see if they can take a look at it today for me.
Righto, off to hang out that laundry,
Catcha later,

kiwi - now is when you start learning how to drive, or thats what my dad told me when i passed my test. I know what you mean about it being weird not having anyone sat at the side of you, and for ages, i could hear my driving instructors voice in my head telling me what to do. (perhaps that is just me being a bit loony
)
It's a great day here weather wise, but i'm in a bit of a quandry with myself. My dad has had to be taken to the hospital. He has a pressure sore on his foot that really isn't healing, and it is really worrying him. IT's been there for at least 4/5 weeks, and he's finally asked to go and sort it. I'm hoping they don't admit him to hospital, but they probably will as he has had two nasty infections (MRSA and cellulitis) in the past, and it isn't like him to heal so slowly.
I'm going to try and get on with my list of chores anyway, as there is nothing i can do at this minute, and my sisters will let me know when they find something out.
WM is whirring - i may try to use the line today, but i will see how i feel. It's only a small load of baby stuff. May do some of my bits and then get that out later to take the damp out.
Glad to see there is a bit of jovialness here today. Just what i need.

I've finally been industrious and got a couple of loads of washing done - they're tumbling and airing as we speak.
Also just sat and ordered a Mr T shop - due to all our cutbacks in money we have to try not to spend over £45 per week on all groceries/cleaning/pet food/toiletries.... I found a code for a 1000 points on a £75 shop and have done a 3 week meal plan, got fruit and veg for the 1st week, milk to bung in the freezer...I shall get back in the habit of going to the market for fruit and veg after that (got visitors this weekend so can't get there). I managed to get it all for £76.08 - £72 odd when they take all the bogof and deals off, then used up my last clubcard points £24.50 worth, add in £3.99 for delivery and I've managed to spend £56ish on 3 weeks meals. I'm quite impressed....will need to sort the freezer out before it all arrives and I'm overrun with stewed apple and blackberry and raspberries - need to make some muffins me thinks.
Off to make a banana cake or 4 now to use up the last of the nanas and try and warm up a bit with a cup of tea (chilly here today)."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Huge quiche is ready to go in oven later for tea and dough for a french loaf is whirring in the BM.
Three loads of washing are on the line and may need to sweet talk DH into taking me to get a new ironing board - mine is 20 years old and held together by sticky tape!!!
Managed to get in shower and treated myself to lush shower gel to cheer myself up and am now drinking hot lemon as I am getting the sniffles.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Morning all! Feeling tired and unwell this morning, although its nice that the sun is shining because I can get my washing done. Went to bed last night and was woken up at 1.00 with searing, sharp pains just under my ribs on both sides and in the middle! It was excrutiating! It came and went in waves and I was sick. I knew it wasn't appendicitis as it was too high up and not a heart attack because it was too low down!
OH rang NHS Direct and they were very nice and asked lots of questions. Eventually told me to take paracetamols and ring back immediately if it got worse. By about 3.00 it had worn off and I fell asleep. It was as painful as labour pains! I think it may have been some sort of severe indigestion and I just wish I knew what caused it. Ive been eating a lot of HM banana bread this week and am worried its a reaction to bananas! Can't think of anything else that may have caused it! Fed up, because I love banana bread!
Hope your cyst turns out to be harmless, Pooky.
Got to take dogs for a run round the park now to wear them out so that I can have a peaceful nap this afternoon!
B: Toast made with HM bread
L: Baked potatoesBeef stew with plenty of veg (Is there anything else you can cook with stewing beef apart from stew?)
