  • Morning all:hello:

Having a quiet morning here. Weather is beautiful - blue skies, sunny but a bit of a nip in the air.
DD off at school. WM done one load. Need to put the next one in.
Dinner at MILs tonight so kids are looking forward to that.
We went swimming in the end yesterday so this afternoon will be our crafty time to make Birthday cards.
Need to have a good sort out of toys and decied which to put on Ebay and which to put in a carboot sale.
Speaking of Ebay, I am waiting for a load of wool to come (should be today) that I 'won'. DD says that her dolls are getting cold at night so I have started knitting some blankets - DD keeps measuring to see how much I have done and reminding me just how cold her dolls are so I need to hurry up. Apparently, they will also need scarves. She asked me last night to show her how to knit. She is 4 so I'm not sure how she will go but I will get her some small needles when I head into town tomorrow.

    :hello:everyone :hello:

 think it might have been me that posted the lemon drizzle cake recipe, its one of OH's favs.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Off to Aldi in a mo, they have printer paper at £1.89 so will get 3 packs, like to stock up when its cheap, also could do with a couple of other things from there.

Its stopped raining, but it must have been very cold last night, the double glazing was steamed up this morning, so had to go round with the rubber screen wiper and a cloth, sun just peeping though.

Also have to pop into the dentist, my plate broke the other night, second time this year, was not too pleased with the earlier repair, good job I have a spare!!!!! would frighten anyone to death without it.

Right I am offskie...... PP hope todays appointment goes better than yesterdays....... I sometimes wonder if the open info policy is best........ can make you worry over something thst does not happen. Plenty of time to worry when its a fact.

    Have a good day......................

    Morning all.

Haven't read all the thread yet (or yesterdays)- will do so in one of my breaks.

Restless night - think DH was fidgeting and woke me up. Went down stairs for a drink of water and as I stepped back from the sink I stepped on a SLUG. Ugghh! These are one of my worst things - spiders are not nearly so bad. Luckily DH was still awake so he went down and got rid of them - apparently there was a bigone (the one I stood on) and two baby ones. All heading behind the DW when he got them. How on earth did they get in? It has been raining a lot. When recycling box was brought in this morning I thoroughly inspected it. I hate the little blighters. DH is now my hero ! :A

I'm hoping you lot will keep me on track today. Swapped work days this week since I had to go to London. This means I have today off and DD is at nursery.

So......... (da da daaaaa) (dramatic musicy bit)

    1. sweep and hoover dining room floor and remove all traces of sawdust DONE:j
    2. varnish dining room floor DONE:j
    3. build bookcase for top of stairs DONE (but I built it at the bottom of the stairs and can't get it up by myself :o )
    4. put up curtain rail for bathroom cupboard (may wimp out of this one and let DH sort it)
    5. clear front room which currently has all stuff from hall, dining room and living room in it (and a good bit of stuff which shouldn't be anywhere) -can't face it:eek:
    6. Meal plan for next week and write shopping list DONE :j
    7. phone around and see if I can get an appointment to get legs waxed today or saturday

In between times I shall eat, drink tea, have a couple of sneaky peaks at MSE, keep loading WM (currently spinning), and make weetabix brownies.

Then go a collect DS from school, take his bike, and we will walk/cycle happily/grumpily to collect DD from nursery.

    Off I go.

See you all later - take care.

Oops! sorry guys. I've just read the flylady thread for the first time and maybe my to do list should be on there. I won't do it again honest (she says sheepishly:o )

    Morning All

DD is watching a sky+ episode of Teletubbies so I've got a minute to post. Feeling abit better today and I'm going to have alook at the link that Snowy posted yesterday when I get a minute.

Going to post on the Flylady thread with my todo list for today as its so long. One of the highlights is that we are going to go for a walk later on as I read somewhere yesterday that even toddlers need an hour of physical exercise a day it will do us both good to get out in the fresh air.

    Must go and get on

Hugs if you need them and have a good day everyone

    Hiya everybody,

Just finished my tea. Sausages & veggies. PP sound's more yummier. Done much the same today. Life has been put on hold atm. DGS had nearly 3 hrs sleep this arv so I'm sure he won't be going to bed at his normal time of 7.30am. Drat, that's when Jamie Oliver's on and it's all happening tonight. :p

Kiwi That's called a kangaroo hop. You should know that :D Quite normal you know. ;)

PP Good luck with the hospital appt.

Off to do the dishes. Hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning all! Woke to the gorgeous smell of baking bread, I actually remembered to put the timer on last night :rotfl: !

Beautiful day here, the sun is fab so I've put my washing out on the line in the hope that it dries (it's quite cool outside at the mo) so that whoopee, I can get it ironed later and put away:rolleyes:

There's a huge beef stew bubbling away in the slow cooker (added an Oriental touch by slinging in the remains of a tin of water chestnuts I used in last night's stir fry, will be interesting to see how they survive) - I used the SC to make chicken stock last night so have to bag that up and freeze it later, what a wonderful invention the slow cooker is!

Kiwi, I haven't told OH yet but I did the same thing in my car on Monday (and I've been driving for umpty-tumpty years :o ). Good luck today.

PP, I hope the hospital visit isn't too bad today <hug>

Breakfast: grilled tomatoes and mushrooms on hm toast
Lunch: HM soup and chicken salad
Dinner: Beef stew with waterchestnuts (!), new potatoes and steamed leeks.

    Enjoy the sun everyone!

I'm on holiday this week - yipee and staying with friends in Aberdeenshire. Have done a bit of spending as I needed a new suit for work but we have been looking for bargains.

Have been boring my friend with money saving old style and telling her about the slow-cooker I bought after reading all the great recipes on MSE.

Hugs to all who need them today:D

    Morning all :hello:

Only just got into the office cos I've been to the dentist  and got a clean bill of health :j which of course means that the OTHER sort of bill was only £15.50 :D - and the dentist thinks that the practice will be staying NHS for the foreseeable future :j

Was worried I might need fillings, as I've been getting a few twinges, however I did explain to the dentist that I thought this was due to tensing up my mouth when stressed - and he agreed that there was nothing physically wrong. So basically all that needs to happen to stop me getting toothache is for my flat purchase to go through ;)

I proved to myself last night that I've got scarily out of the old style habit! I was in Tesco and I found 2 packs of mini chicken breasts reduced from £3.xx each to 38p each, and then I wandered aimlessly around the shop for a few mins because I couldn't remember what other ingredients I needed for a chicken pasta bake! :o Eventually I remembered (peppers, spring onions, mushrooms, tomato and herb sauce (I know, I know) and mozzarella) and the results were enormous and yummy  I was sleepy though, and left the sink full of washing up when I went to bed, so I hope my housemate's not too peed off with me.

Little_miss_neat - I remember learning to knit at age 5, so your DD might be OK. I got a starter pack with some easy to use needles and yarns. If her dolls need scarves, that's a good place to start, cos she can do them with a few stripes which is dead easy and a lot more interesting than knitting something simple in all one colour!

Course, NOW I can't actually remember how to knit :o I can remember the general stuff - knitting, purling, how to combine the two to make stocking stitch or ribbing, and how to cast off - but that's not much good if I can't remember how to cast ON :o:D - one of these days I'll teach myself again.

I forgot to say yesterday, WELCOME BACK to jw1096 and mossy!

kiwichick - you made me :rotfl: (sorry :o)

Penny-Pincher!! - hope you have a better time at the hospital today. We must arrange to have a cuppa again soon. (((hugs)))

Off with best friend this evening to see an opera at Covent Garden, I have a £5 standing ticket :D but I need to work out how to get home afterwards as my local railway line is closing early for overnight engineering works.

See you later, love Rzl xx

    Morning everyone

Day off today and the insomnia kicked in at 4am this morning  Got up for a couple of hours and then ventured back to bed. Then I never got up till 9:30!

Have put a load of washing in, cleaned and tidied the kitchen, stripped the bed and tidied the living room. So not bad for having a lie-in.

Just out of the shower then will head off to do the weekly shop. Shouldn't need too much as we are away all weekend.

Will also pop into costco as their kitchen rolls are on offer this week.

Parents evening at school tonight. Our appt. isn't until half past eight tonight. Luckily we live just across from the school so not far to go.

    Bye for now
