Hi everyone,
Penny Pincher - so sorry to hear your news - I would get a second opinion before undergoing such a drastic operation.
Catznine - I think you would be better going by train to get to Barts, it's about 10 minutes walk from the Baribican (I think that's right, first stop on Circle line East from King's Cross).
No a lot of OSing going on here at the moment. I've been feeling lousy (stress I think) and probably won't focus until after BIL's funeral on Friday. Have promised some puds for the do but will probably get them from M & S (SIL wants 6) because I don't think I'll have time to make them.

RE: Barts - just checked and depending on the line there are four stations close St Pauls on Central then Barbican, Farringdon and Blackfriars.0

Afternoon All
Wet and miserable here too, Shez I have also had frizzy hair for 2 days solid. I did try the Lee Stafford Product that protects it against frizz and humidity - it was ok but not great.
PP ((((hugs)))) Hope it works out ok for you, keeping being positive.
Today I have been to college, library and bank. Also popped to tescos for a couple of bits and spent nearly £40:eek: , thats why I normally try and avoid going in there but did get some candles for Halloween and some twiglets for Xmas.
Having a mooch on here at the mo (obvious I know) OH will do the school run, DS has got a friend coming around and its going to be annoying that they wont be able to go in the garden but hopefully they will find something else (pref quiet) to do.
Have got saus, wedges and peas for tea, DS and friend have got cheeseburgers with no veg for visitor - apparantly he doesnt eat it at all!!
Might motivate myself to some ironing in a mo - theres not much there but I also need to wash DD school shirts so they will go in dryer.
Am a little bit nervous about tomm - DD's new riding lessons have inspired me to go again - have a lesson in the morning, havt been in years and did lose my nerve a little, also Im not as fit as I used to be. Needless to say I wont be able to walk by the weekend.
Anyway really should go and do something so have a great Afternoon/Evening.0 -
Well now I am taking it personally!!!
Was just posting on the thread about the missing daily thread and as I hit submit, this site threw me off!!!:rotfl: Then wouldn't let me back in until now. I think the kindest thing would be just to tell me I'm not wanted!!! ( Do you think I've offended someone "highup"?:o)
Still haven't been shopping, so will be off now.
Shez, the rain has been and gone, few flashes of lightning, but now it's beautiful!! Blue skies and sunshine.:DYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Afternoon everyone!:hello:
Penny-Pincher - so sorry to hear about your scary news! I'm sure other posters are right and that is the very worst case scenario. Lots of prayers for you here too. ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))
There are definitely internet probs today - tried to get on at 4.00 through til 4.30 but no luck at all. It turned out to begin with that DS had disconnected the router because it was so thundery last night, but even after we'd discovered that, and repaired the connection, it just couldn't find the server. (We're with Pipex)
Catowen - remembering your post yesterday (don't know if you read my post, but I said it sounded as if your friend maybe felt a bit guilty that she wasn't as OS as you!). Anyway, it reminded me of my DGS's 7th birthday some years ago. He really wanted a party, and his Mum and Dad were very short of cash, so instead of one of the parties all his friends had (i.e. going to Macdonalds or the Superbowl etc) DD gave him a traditional party at home, with all HM food including the birthday cake, and all the old games such as Pass the Parcel and Musical Bumps. All the kids told their mums they'd had a brilliant time, and several of the mums admiringly told DD how brave she was having a party at home - none of them realised it was because money was tight. Mind you, she's managed to avoid parties since then - just has a couple of his friends to have tea and play Warhammer!
Also in case they didn't see my post yesterday - welcome back to JW1096 and Mossy :j - we missed you!
((((((HUGS to all who aren't well or whose children aren't well, and to those who've had bad news recently))))))
Dinner tonight will be omelettes and HM oven chips - better go food shopping tomorrow. Last week we went on Friday morning and Asda seemed to have a lot of empty places on the shelves! I really wanted some Rooks' Kentish Sausages and they hadn't any left.
Best wishes

My mum is having this op soon and was also told if it didn't work they would have to remove her leg. I'm guessing that this is worst case scenario and they have to tell you this, so try not to worry too much PP. Easier said than done I know but you'll have plenty of support both here and at home throughout xxIts nice to be important but more important to be nice!0
