Morning :hello:
The weather's grey here too this morning, but it seems to have stopped thundering at least.
((((HUGS)))) PP, like others have said, make sure you get multiple opinions - I'll be praying that your news is just a worst case scenario. You know where I am
Didn't post yesterday so sorry if I missed anyone's big news in the thread that mysteriously disappeared...
Got some bargain sausages from Tesco on Monday (3 packs of Finest pork and apple sausages reduced to 20p each) so I think I fancy a good old bangers and mash supper this evening - and will be doing a sausage casserole in the SC at the weekend  I had been planning to do a fish pie on Monday, but Tesco also had several packs of tuna steaks reduced to 30p, some of them looked manky but I found one which was still nice and fresh - had both of them (:o) rare grilled, with new potatoes and broccoli
Went to see a performance yesterday by a new opera company (bargain ticket cost me £12.75 on lastminute.com, should have been £28!) which was generally quite good but the leading lady was SOOOOOOO bad, I'd go as far as to say worse than ANY other professional singer I've EVER heard  Here's a moneysaving tip for anybody with time to spare at Euston Station - The Bloomsbury Theatre, which is attached to the UCL Students' Union about 5 mins walk from Euston, has a little caff where you can get a cup of tea for 65p and a cappuccino for 95p :money:
I've also booked a trip to Edinburgh next month to see an opera I really want to see - the opera tickets weren't particularly moneysaving, I must admit, but we got a fabulous travel deal! Me and best friend are travelling up on a Monday night on the Caledonian Sleeper, exploring Edinburgh on the Tuesday and seeing the show in the evening, then coming back overnight on the Sleeper again. Total cost for the return train journey, which includes two nights' accommodation (if you see what I mean) and means that we only need one day off work and the boring travel bit can happen while we're asleep, was £48 each! :money: I was so impressed that I went onto the Travel forum and posted a recommendation.
Anyway, must go, work to be done.
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Morning All!!
(((((((Hugs to PP))))))). Thinking of you.
Pen Pen - sorry meant to reply to your question yesterday, I have the Braun Multiquick, bought it when I was weaning DS, so that makes it more than 7 years old and it's wonderful. Picked a cheaper one up for my mum and it's rubbish so definitely go for the Braun.
Well, grey and murky here too. DH is tiling the bath surround today so if you're in the Berks/Bucks area cover your ears!!! He is the worlds most foul mouthed & grumpy DIY'er and I have a feeling this isn't going to be an easy job. I decided I would like slate on the surround to match the floor not plain white like the walls:o Think I will need to purchase a bottle of wine to help him unwind and bake something sweet to sweeten him up.
OS - not much this morning, WM on timer as usual so will hang that out when I get home. Made a loaf in the BM last night, was a bit slapdash and looks a bit funny this mornin but according to DH it's the best one yet!! Made flapjacks too, they haven't turned out well, I doubled the recipe and made them whilst talking to my mum in France and think I forgot to double the sugar. Will try again tonight.
Dinner tonight is favourite recipe - this is what the kids call it. It's basically creme fraiche, bacon and cheese sauce over pasta. DS has footie tonight so has to be something quick and easy. Will probably spend the evening cleaning up after DH who is also the worlds messiest DIY'er.:D
Have a lovely day all.

If I knew how to post pictures on here I would, he's very cute, although I am now being led to believe he may be a bit more border/patterdale terrier than Russell?
Maybe I can add him as an avatar picture.
At the moment he's chewing the typing chair that I'm sitting on:eek: So if I suddenly dissapear, he's worked his way through and bitten my !!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Morning All
Hugs to PP. Thinking of you.
Weather report:thunderstorm just started, almost too dark for me to see my keyboard.
PenPen, I'm another Braun Multiquick fan. Like Taplady's, mine has the blender, the balloon whisk, and a mini processor chopping nuts and breadcrumbs etc, it also came with a couple of other jugs and blades. It wasn't cheap, but t was worth the money.
Was going to go out shopping for new worktops today (we're rearranging our kitchen and have decided to give it a facelift at the same time), but it's too wet. I think I'll do some flyladying instead.
Made MrBE's choccy yoghurt cake yesterday, and I'm having trouble letting it mature for three days.
breakfast: HM Yog
Lunch and dinner: HM carrot soup with grated parmesan
Have a good day everyone.0 -
PP - i don't know how you keep your sense of humour when you keep getting pounded like you do. Big hugs, like everyone else, i hope that is the absolute worst case scenario.
it's a miserable day here again, and i am shattered. Was up a good few hours in the night with back and stomach pains. Was wondering if that might be a sign of me going into labour, but no such luck. Luckily i didn't wake DH. One of us at least needs to have some energy, as mine has been worse every day so far.
Good news yesterday was that DH persuaded currys to accept a credit card statement as proof of purchase for our fridge, and they are sending an engineer round to fix the fridge on Friday morning. That's a huge relief. I need to cross my legs now to make sure that isn't the day either, although impressed we didn't have to wait till next wednesday.
otherwise - nothing new for me. DH is continuing to be a star, and cooking most nights. I might try and make the effort tonight though, as i noticed he has broken out in horrible spots on his neck and face. I'm stressing him out terribly. :rotfl: Think i will get some pork chops out the freezer, and do them grilled, with jacket potatoes, and perhaps some peas and carrots. Nothing over-strenuous there.
