Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

(((((hugs))))) Penny-Pincher don't really know of anything constructive to say but wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts.
Queenie - how's the non-smoking going? I am now on day 5  and have saved £21.25 so far - shocking isn't itI have to say my motivation is money (who said I was a materialistic old bat
).
Anyway currently at work, in an office on my own (I know it sounds bad - but I prefer working on my own - get more done IYKWIM).
Didn't have steak and kidney pud for tea last night, as one of the downsides to giving up smoking is the fact you want to eat everything in site, this is what I ate when I got home from work yesterday afternoon, wait for it............. 1/2 a salmon and brocooli quiche, 2 bags of crisps, a kit kat, a penguin bar, 3 cookies and a hunk of cheeseNeedless to say I was too full for dinner after that little lot :rotfl: DD had a jacket potato and DH had beans on toast with 2 fried eggs on top.
So tonights tea will be S&K Pud, cabbage, carrots, mash and gravy
(((((hugs))))) to everyone on this grey and murky daySquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning everyone
Its a bit dark and gloomy here. I do wish the bbc weather site wouldn't change its mind so often, atleast the weather is now 'supposed' to be good for tomorrow so I won't get soaked as I venture into the jungle...i mean triffid land...oops no I mean my allotment lol.
Already spent too much time on here and its all your fault ladies and gents tut tut why must you all type interesting things...shame on you!
Got a busy day today and I have 42 minutes to get bathed, dressed, clean kitchen and iron and get to the osteopaths....ummmm don't think I'm going to manage all that.
Well I better get on with it all, watching the HM christmas gifts thread with lots of interest for more ideas of homemade gifts. :A Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Morning!!
Woke up to the cat happily strolling the length of the bed making her little brrrrrrrp noises and decided id get out of bed - I really must be needing my sleep at the moment as i woke up at 8.45 which is again quite late for me.
I started making sofa covers yesterday (well, the practice ones anyway!) and managed to get two parts completed, and they are the right size too so im pleased. I did however break three needles (im new to this sewing lark!) and looking at an online it appears that I might a) have threaded the top thread wrong, b) put a replacement needle in wrong, and c) maybe leaving the fabric weight to 'pull' on the needle. If there are any experts out there I might have to post a pic of my top threading to make sure ive done it right (I lost the instructions and for the life of me cannot find them online!).
Also went out and bought myself a little palm sander from woolies for £10 which was a bargain - it may turn out to be carp but I didnt really want to spend around £40 on a posher one just to do a few tasks.
Plans for today are to go to a tropical fish shop and buy other half a fish for his tank, he is after a siamese fighter but he wants a special one so this is probably going to take hours of driving around! I also need to take our ID into the co-op bank as we are opening a joint current account as a bills account, and deposit a cheque in my acc.
I may well need to continue shopping as I want a large fireproof bowl for the chimenea (which is my fireplace!) as the firegel cans are too small to be really useful and I need a table protector to keep my new dining table (arriving thursday - woohoo!) in good shape! (especially as other hald has the propensity to drop something that stains on something new, like tomato sauce on a new white shirt, coffee on a (fortunately) dark bedspread, beer on a cushion, etc etc).
Anyway, id better get on as I want to cut the patter s for the rest of the sofa today so I can make the actual covers next week on my week off!

PenelopePenguin- I have a Braun Multiquick advantage blender which is brilliant, not sure of the price as it was a gift but I use it all the time.It has several heads to go on - the usual blender, a whisk and a mini food processer type of things which I use for breadcrumbs etc. Its my most useful gadget!;)
Foreverskint - look forward to seeing pics of your pup. We have a Jack russel called Nipper who's 4 and a real character definitely the leader of our 3 dogs even though he's the smallest(2 lurchers )
day off today!:j am having an easy day today!:D a bit of me time!;)
Hope you all have a pleasant day!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning everyone! Raining here too, but they did forecast it so I got up to date with my washing yesterday. Need to bath my Pugs but don't feel up to the struggle (they really don't like it and fight to get out!!!) Plus they are snuggled up together with the Cavaliers and look so comfy its a shame to disturb them!
I got round to defrosting the freezer on Monday, Pug 1 had her nose in a bag and was eating some of the contents while my back was turned!!! Luckily it was just some loose oven chips! My freezer is in an outside shed, so I put the Pug out and put a barrier in the way so that she couldn't get back in to eat more stuff. She promptly started to chew the wood off the shed in frustration!!! Ive just remembered some fish fingers that fell behind the tumble drier - I must go and retrieve them to put in the bin before they start to go mouldy or attract unwanted visitors!
My thoughts are with you, Penny Pincher. I hope they can sort your leg out without resorting to extremes! It must be so worrying for you. :grouphug:

Ordered two pairs of new boots from a local shop's website. Wanted to compare the sizes but didn't realise I would have to pay postage if I sent them back! (One pair fits luckily) Its local but not that local, so don't know whether to pluck the courage up to drive to the city where the shop is to save postage. Im not that sure of the way! Im sure the postage will be quite expensive for boots! I wouldn't normally buy them in this way but I am desperate for a pair and I must have tried on boots in every shop in my nearby town with no luck! Ive already tried my catalogues too!
Never mind. Have a good day everyone!0
