Morning all  Wouldn't normally be able to post this early, but DS came home from school early yesterday with a crashing headache and nausea - and the nausea is still with him, so he's staying at home and chilling in his jammies today. Hence no need to rush around!
Queenie, I'd realised this was happening and try (where possible) to get to the end of the previous day's thread so as to hit the Thanks button on the later contributors, but its not always possible. On the other side of the coin, I've often thought about posting in the evening, but decided to leave it until the following day when my witterings would get a bigger audience. All of which just goes to prove what an attention-seeker I am. :rotfl:
Welcome back, Jo! Glad to hear you got that puppy trained in the end - and good luck with the jobhunting!
Today I need to come up with a plan as to how to finance the replacement of the rear box on the car's exhaust pipe. I got some quotes yesterday and I'm looking for about £50. So today I need to scout around the house and see what I can bear to part with on Ebay in order to find the cash. I suspect my lovely crystal ball will be a contender, but needs must and all that. Just what we don't need, with Xmas on the horizon and EDF Energy presenting us with a £220 Electricity bill.
The SC shall see some action today, cooking up some lovely lentil and bean lunch batches for the freezer, using the stock from the SC roast chicken we had at the weekend.
The good news for the day is that yesterday I saw somebody advertising a freezer on my local freecycle - and realised it was my Ma-in-law! So they're delivering it to us at 7pm this evening. :T Just in time for me to fill it with packets of lovely lentil lunch. It won't help the electricity bill, but it will help with the food budget.
We've still not turned on the central heating .. :T .. which is unheard of, as DH is ordinarily whining for summer again by now. He's dug out his fluffy trousers and a fleece, instead. The rest of us are still in our underwear - and he reckons he's a rufty tufty Geordie and we're soft southern wimps! Ahem!
Well, better get on. Have a good day one and all - hope all those feeling rough get better soon and for all those having a bad day, I would wish you an early night so as to get it all behind you!
B : h/m bread toast and jam
L : Quiche slices from the freezer (defrosted, if we're lucky! )
D : Sausage for the boys, Chop for the girl, mash and veg.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

I think what you are talking about is sold as a food mill or mouli.

Hi all,
Meant to tell you of my day before but got called away. Just had our tea and DH is having a play time with DGS. DH is screaming and laughing but it gives me 5 mins to post on here.Went to the dr's yesterday and the flu had settled on my chest. Got some medicine and he recommended a tonic which tastes like cockaroach poo.
I hope it re-vitalises me. Had an early night last night and today feel like I'm on the road to recovery.
Windows arrived yesterday. Stairs are in CM.The outside boards which were delivered yesterday the carriers damaged quite a few of the top sheets. DH rang them up first thing this morning. They wasn't interested at first but DH got through to them. Hopefully they will replace the ones damaged. Think it's about 10. Just sloppy handling.
Nice to see you back Jo. Hope you are feeling better too PP.
Snowy (((((((((((Hugs))))))))))
Best get going and will have a surf when DGS is in bed. ByeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning everyone :hello:
It's my NQT release time at work, but I thought I'd start it off by coming on here to say hi. :j :j :shhh: I won't tell if you don't!
jw - it's so nice to have you "back".
:T :T :T to those people giving up cigarettes!
It's only 9 working days until half term :j :j To be honest, it can't come soon enough, but a huge thank you to all those kind people on here giving me advice and support. It's so kind of you. It's really why I love this site.
This evening I'm going (hopefully) to a "Country Gift Fair" (or something like that). I got a couple of bits and pieces there last year. Lots of lovely crafty bits and other Christmas ideas. Unfortunately, all I came back with last year was stuff for myself. I will try better tonight.
I was nearly very bad last night. I went on CDWow and filled my basket, then realised that I didn't actually NEED any of it, so I emptied it. I need more money to add to my car fund as it seems to be stagnant at the mo with not much longer to go until it needs to be paid.
DH left for work really early this morning, so I've told him that he's got to heat up the veggie pasta sauce and pasta this evening. He's in Spain for the whole of next week with work, so I'm making the most of him being at home.
Better go and get on with work.

Morning all! Grey and drizzly here this morning
was woken up at 4.00 by the pouring rain outside - was panicking about the cat being locked outside (she wasn't) so got up for a cup of tea, then went back to bed for a snooze. Woke up at 7.40 in a daze but am slowly readjusting myself to the usual morning routine now.
Dinner's in the slow cooker (lamb tagine, mmm); DW is emptied, cat fed, me fed, so now it's on to the weekly hoover stomp around the house. Going for lunch in town with a friend so will pick up a few goodies from the market then.
I can't believe it's the middle of October and I still haven't got the heating on :j hopefully our bill will reflect this next time round.
Brekkie: Poached eggs on toast
Lunch: Probably toasted sandwich in cafe
Dinner: Lamb tagine with rice and aubergine dip.
Have a great day everyone!

Hi everyone and hope your days are going well.
Had a wonderful OS weekend and managed to make stew for freezer, cook a ham bone for broth (have some broth with me today for w**k), kept ham from the bone to make a bacon and egg pie. Cooked liver and bacon for freezer and made 3 loaves (there's only us two, so I run out of space in my fairly quickly! - looking for another small freezer, but lack the room)
Have started planning Ch****mas - and knitted a frothy scarf for my niece. Saw someone had posted that they were making small xmas cakes in old small baked bean tins, which I think is a great idea! Hopefully I remembered to thank before I whizzed off to check if we had any small tins!!
HTTTNT (hugs to those that need them)

Hi everyone,
Tired today - couldn't sleep last night because of painful joints.
Went to Weightwatchers last night and am feeling very positive - hope to lose the first 10% of my body weight by Christmas.
Managed to put DW on and swipe bathroom but must tidy bedroom and front room tonight, they're both very messy.
DH came home with a couple of lovely knitted items from M & S for DD (she had tried them on at the weekend and asked him to get them for her with his staff discount). We worked out last night that even though she left home two years ago (and was at UNI before that) we still spend more on clothes for her than for each other or DS, will have to cut down, but I do love buying her nice things.0 -
Morning everyone.
Quick one from me again as i am visiting a friend and her baby at 11. I may manage a quick cuddle, if i can get the baby close to me with my bump in the way.
I feel like i am having another disastrous week. Our fridge packed up yesterday. We only bought it last november, and everyhting in it was on the turn, Luckily DH noticed as he was pouring milk in to mash our potatoes yesterday, and it had gone solid through the day.
So since starting maternity leave on the 29/09, we have discovered 2 denby plates were broken, DH has pranged his car, the cat is still being sick and may need a 2nd trip to the vet if we can't work out why, and now the fridge isn't working, and we can't find a receipt. All too much for me i'm afraid, and DH will have to sort it out. Luckily we could borrow a table top fridge, so that will keep us going for the time being.
jo lovely to see you back, and you sound a lot happier
aussie lass glad to hear you feel a bit better
snowy supermarkets are a bit bad with uniforms, my sister struggled to get new proper sized clothes while pregnant, and she is normally size 10, and only went up to a 14/16, so don't feel bad. We still love you anyway.
right best get on. Lots to do.

  Hello everyone
Very dull morning here....... unless it clears up a bit the washing will have to go on the airer in the living room tonight.
I had my leccy bill on line last night, I AM IN CREDIT only £8.00 but it makes a change. I read both the leccy and gas meters and sent the readings through, still owe a bit on the gas, but really suprised about the electric.
I am on a visiting day today, my freind with arthritis has had surgery on her knee, keyhole, last week, so going to see how she is..... ginger cake at the ready..........
Tomorrow is to be a town day, I have a voucher for Woolies, need some replacement bowls, I broke 3 when I knocked them out of the cupboard, and Woolies is the only place I can still get them, could also do with a couple of small plates.
:j :j The holiday saga is finished, I had to ring them again as I had not heard from them, we have booked over the phone and got almost £100 off the cost of the holiday, we have booked 10 days in Picardy in May, paid the deposit yesterday with the rest to be paid in March. I am just about to ring them and give them a different card to pay the balance, if you pay by CC they charge 2% (£3.30) if you pay by debit card, its free.........that cash is better in my pocket than theirs!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Right I am off, expecting a couple of things by post, need to be downstairs, cannot always hear the bell if I am upstairs, so a quick make of the bed and I am off for a cup of rosie lee......Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
