  • Morning all! Just a quickie before the children are up (I can already hear them scratching around!). Off to w*** today, but I'll be able to keep up with what's happening.

The wine we started last week is doing well, and needs to be strained today. Job for when I get home.

Question for you all. On my sister's recommendation, I bought a stick blender from Mr T for £5. It was brill for making smoothies, but unexpectedly failed last week. I took it back, but would like to replace it with something a bit more substantial. What type do you people use? Any recommendations will be gratefully received. I want to try a stewed damson smoothie!

    Have a great day,

    Penny. x

    Morning all,

PP- As the kids get older the school trips get more expensive:eek: Our DS ski trip next year is £630 plus spends:eek: He has already missed one to france as that was £370, Lion king trip in year 8 was £120 + spends but well worth it and really enjoyable.

Dark, wet & chilly this morning, hoping not to have to venture out other than the school run. Need to dig the Diddy jackets out and do the odd repair to them so the kids are nice & bright when walking to school.

Still got Apples to convert into:confused: and flick round with the duster as MIL is up tonight, no doubt O/H will begger off to the pub and leave me to entertain her as usual:mad:

Catch you all later, have a good un
    Take care

Bit cheeky (I know!:o) but following on from kethry's example the other day, I'm starting the thread now because I may not be up in time to start it tomorrow ;) :rotfl:

Not wishing to offend anyone, but I think I've sussed out the reason why some posters felt a need to post earlier in the night, which in turn, caused some controversy in the Daily Thread ... I've noticed that those posters who post in the evening on the daily thread, receive no where near the same "acknowledgement" as those who post earlier in the day. I do know I am guilty of not always acknowledging posts after my daily MSE time has expired, but it has made me realised how wide the gulf between the starter thread attracting 15+ comments/thanks and the latter posts only attracting perhaps 5 comments/thanks and then the feelings resulting in not feeling welcome/in the "clique". Understandable really. I know that the majority of posters may not even be aware that it happens but it might be something to take on board (or not, depending on your own motivations ;)

The simple truth of the matter is people posted early for the simple reason that you felt inclined to post early just then. They were around at the time and they felt welcome to do so.

It was NOT a race as you first implied nor has it any thing to do with more acknowlegements early on. I think the whole concept of everyone thanking everyone tells how much we all miss the one on one caring comments. I think we have lost something unique.

BTW I'm feeling a bit better today :)
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Good morning everyone,

Welcome back JW, really glad BF is behaving, and good luck on the 'new job hunt'.

SOMO1 (and Queenie) - WELL DONE, 4 days (1 day) is brilliant, keep it up, we are proud of you!!!!!

Well, hope fully a quiet day here. Just one little one here, and shes at Nursery this morning so hopeing to get a lot done. Want to clean the kitchen floor this morning (including under the table) and thinking of making a chicken pie for dinner tonight, with the left over chicken from Sunday.
Also hoping to sort out the row i had with my best friend yesterday. Bit horrible, as it was at her daughters party, but i mentioned something about making DDs birthday cake, only to be told 'Oh well you would'. I felt dreadful, I know everyone isnt OS, but that isnt an excuss to put down those of us that are!!! She tried to say later on that it had been a compliment, but funny sounding compliment!!!!
Never mind, hopefully we can sort it out later.
Better get moving, little one is here, hope everyone has a good day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Glad you are feeling better, Aussie xx

Good morning Night Posters and those who've just woken up

Another breakfast shift for me today so the alarm rang at 4.30am:o

Being filmed at work today for promotional stuff. Not my idea of fun. I'll be in hiding for most of the day. Cameraman's due in soon

Well the theatre wasn't too bad last night. I went expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised.

Got to try and sort my bank accounts out later, if not then, it'll be on next week's list of to do's as I'm on holiday - yey:j

    Well work calls

Hope everyone's ok and hugs to anyone who needs them

RONAN re puppy weeing, its a good idea to cage them in your bedroom over night as they dont wee in their own bed , she will then make a noise when she needs to go, and as soon as she does put her outside on the grass and wait untill she goes, give her a treat, then bring her straight back in. Do the same a couple of times a day and immediately after eating meals. This works wonders.

  • Good Morning all!

Thought the site was down, but cleared my cache & rebooted & here I am! :D Aren't you all glad  ;)

11pm last night was cleaning the uPVC around my kitchen windows (inside!) I had a sudden burst of energy, lol! Anyway this morning walked in & OMG how bright does it look (used star drops)

Will do the rest today. Also kids rooms need tidying AGAIN  DD has a friend coming over after tea. I am doing homemade McDonalds!!! No way am going to the smelly place, lol!

Need to go to Mr T this morning to stock up on a few bits. Have made a liist like a good girl.

MOGGINS, GET BACK HERE OR I WILL BE FORCED TO TELL THEM ALL ABOUT YOUR EXPLOITS AT THAT PARTY! :p:p:p Seriously, hope you are ok hon x :A

Must give the bathroom a proper clean today not just a swish & swipe.

DH has good savings. Want to get a decent dining table & decent suite. He says the savings are his & hes saving them for a rainy day. I am quite annoyed to say the least. Then he told me I needed to get a better job.  I am going to nag & nag & nag & nag. He can be such a miser sometimes. There is a difference between money saving & stingy.

We are getting a kitten on the weekend!!!!! :D SiL has one from her cat so FiL is bringing her up! She is called Boots (mum is called Dora! ) But she has white feet & black fur so she looks like shes wearing boots! Can't wait!

    Take care all

    Morning everyone!

Aussie, glad you're feeling a bit better today. Did you go to Docs?

How's the house coming, last i heard the stairs had gone in.

Do agree about thread starting. When I posted in the wee small hours, ( But always ON the day) it was simply because I was around then, but wouldn't be again until very late during that day. It never entered my head about "thanks" If I wanted to commiserate, congratulate or wish luck to someone it had to be done then or not at all really. Hence the reason I now do not post every day. Just don't have time.

Must go now, we have a problem with the heating so must get onto British Gas and hope they will honour their contract and actually come out to me as a matter of urgency!!!

    Enjoy your days.
