no sign of snowy owl twink. She hasn't said anything since saying she was starting on that day. I hope she is enjoying it.
SOMO1 work out how much you will save in a month. At least £127.50 i reckon. Well done you. keep up the fab work :T
I'm feeling quite pleased as i have been quite productive, and have a clean bathroom and kitchen, veggies peeled for dinner, and a loaf in the BM as we speak. It may sound small, but believe me, at the pace i work at these days, that has been quite good for me. I don't want the MIL to come to visit when pud arrives and find us living in squalor. :rotfl:
Can't wait for DH to come in, as he has taken to massaging my feet while i do my cross stitch. I sound about 90 now, rather than 27.
My plan is, when it gets to 5:30, i am going to head upstairs, repack a box that needs to go in the loft, put on a face mask and do the ironing while watching home and away. Fingers crossed that DH might be in around 6:30, when i can start cooking dinner, and i will have achieved 14 out of 15 things on my to-do list.
Quite evening then in front of the telly i think.
Take care everyone,
Michelle, xx0 -

Yoo hoo Twink :hello: I'm here!! I've just not been in the frame of mind for posting - well you know how it is sometimes...just been a bit grumpy, reason to be revealed in following paragraph...
Thanks for remembering about my induction day - it went just fine! I watched a selection of videos and completed a random selection of forms. Unfortunately my last job's contract hasn't terminated yet - so I can't start the new job until that is done and dusted. And double unfortunately my new employers gave me my uniform and I have discovered it doesn't fit...I could die of embarrassment:embarasse:cry: and haven't yet plucked up the courage to phone them and tell them. Let's just say I have put on rather a lot of weight in the past couple of years - I just hope that when I do contact them they can actually get an appropriate size for me otherwise I will be both unemployed and at rock bottom regards confidence. It's the last thing I need considering I am changing jobs because of stress and hassle at the other place - these things combined are the reasons for my being grumpy. The upside of this shame is that I am now on the G.I.Diet and the humiliation of my situation tells me that I should have sufficient motivation to stick to it for a long while. Right now I just want to stay at home and never go out again, I look utterly hideous and am not proud of myself at all. Staying at home isn't practical so I have to grit my teeth and go out. Life is a **female dog** sometimes.
Otherwise Old Style - I made a great big pot of vegetable soup yesterday. It's really yummy - didn't follow a recipe, just chucked in a random selection of things. It is lovely though, and v.warming as I grated in some fresh ginger. I've run out of washing to do...at last!! You'd think I had a great wardrobe full of clothes - well I do, but next to nothing fits - but anything that does fit is either on me or washed and ready to wear. Same for bed linen and towels, all nice and fresh. I dry my things indoors mostly as it rarely stops raining here (Ireland!) and even though I haven't turned the heating on yet my washing dries quite fast anyway. I need to take up some exercise but can't stand going out in the rain - I wear glasses and surprise surprise they don't have wipers lol and it's v.unpleasant not being able to see where I am going. Would join a gym...but the cost...it's probably not that much, but my salary is going to drop by several hundred a month so I think joining a gym right now would be financial madness.
VickyA - sorry to hear how rotten you feel about work. You know you are more than capable of the job, you have achieved so much in life already. This is just a little blip in the grand scheme of things. BTW did the RSPCA come and rescue the cat you saw yesterday? I hate to think of the poor animal in so much pain.
StressOutMum - keep going with the not smoking thing!! The first few days are hell. I gave up too, in fact, I gave up twice! The last time I gave up was in 1999 - like ageandjo I was sounding like Frank Butcher, but I developed an awful "death rattle" cough - it was disgusting. I'm glad you are giving up before you get to that stage. Out of all the things I've done in life I will never ever regret giving up the cigs, they are nothing but a waste of money and poison to the body.
Snoozer, glad to hear you enjoyed yourself over here. How awful about your bil, it is so sad to hear such news.
Bye all.

lovely to hear from you snowy, glad your induction day went well, i would take it as a compliment if i got a smaller size uniform
i cant afford the gym either but try and have a walk round the village every day
i think when you start your new job with nice workmates it will give you a lift
me and tigger the cat sitting here send our love x0 -
Hello peeps
Well, a very positive start to the week for me; I was up & at the gym for 1/4 to 8 this morning :A A very rare occurance I can tell you, I'm not a good morning exerciser.
Got back from todays site visits at about 5ish, so have whizzed round since then - emptied kitchen bin, sorted recycling, washed up, one load of washing on airer, cleaned kitchen table (stardrops & mf cloth-ed for first time, now shiny & sparkling!) and a MSE browse. Spag carbonara for tea, nice & easy for when OH gets home at 7.30ish. Will go do the prep in a mo. Have a load of whites to go on too.
Yesterday was the annual garage clear out/put away patio furniture mammoth task, so have a clean & tidy garage. Funny how there's more stuff in there now, taking up less room than before?
Hope you've all enjoyed the sunshine today, big well done to SOMO1 for quitting the nasty habit, snoozer sorry to hear about your BiL and VickyA don't let the bu99ers grind you down!
Have a lovely Monday evening - hankies at the ready for Corrie tonight, it's going to be a tear jerker!0 -
Evening everyone :hello:
Many thanks to all people who have been so kind in sending me kind thoughts . I'm really touched.
Things came to a head at work today. I went to talk to the head, just to check that I'm getting my NQT (Newly Qualified Teacher) release time tomorrow morning and managed to burst into tears on her. I explained how terrible I'm feeling and why. She came up to the classroom with me and also had a "little chat" with my class about how to behave. I've got a meeting with the lady who is in charge of NQTs in the whole of Northants tomorrow, so I'll have more of an idea how I'm doing. The thing that I'm most worried about is not having any money to buy a house.
Snowy - yes, the RSPCA did turn up last night to pick up the poor cat. Apparently, the poor thing had a "spinal injury" (no sh*t, it not being able to use its back legs....). I haven't seen any posters around or notes through the door about a missing cat, so we'll just have to see how it goes.
DH has just called to say that he's on his way home from work. As he's away next week, I'm making sure that he pulls his weight this week!!! He's cooking supper tonight - a curry (sauce out of a jar  ) with rice. All I've got to do is make sure all the equipment is ready for him.
Have a good evening.

Nothing at all OS going on today, so maybe I shouldn't be here!
Been for my first reflexology session today to see if it will help with my high blood pressure and teeth grinding. Was told by the therapist to take it easy this evening and that I could feel a little sleepy - she wasn't wrong there, I've been dozing in the chair for a while, DS has been good though, and only shouted me once. DD(10) is camping with her school until Friday, so it seems pretty quiet in the house tonight. Oh forgot........ had HM cheese and onion pasties from the freezer so did a bit of OStyling after all.;)

Snowy Owl: am doing the GI diet too!!! lost a stone so far on it - pity i've so many more stone to lose (about 5), but we'll get there - good luck with it!
keth
xx
p.s. minestrone soup, a veggie version of it, is great for the GI diet - if you want my recipe, yell, its very OS too!0 -
Oh thank you Kethry, I would be very appreciative of the recipe you mention. My creative abilities in the kitchen aren't always successful (though I will force things down rather than chuck them) so it pays for me to follow a recipe every now and again. Thank you for thinking of me! And well done on losing a stone already, that is excellent - give yourself a big old pat on the back!
NB: My Weetabix cake, lemon drizzle cake, banana bread and any flavour muffin days are now history...boo hooo....0
