    Good Morning All

Horrible weather here too today but havnt got to go out till later (OH does the school run on Mondays) so hopefully it might brighten up.

Havnt read the weekends thread as of yet so hope everyone is ok, but (((hugs))) to anyone who needs them.

Had a slightly hectic but good weekend and kids were both really good so that makes a change :rotfl: .

Today is mainly admin but will also clear the washing basket - not much in there - and that will be ironed by the end of the day. At some point I do need to pop out for some fruit but thats about it.

Feeling upbeat and positive today - house is relatively tidy - just needs a quick hoover that OH will do later.

Lillibet - cant answer your question but I wondered about it too.

Hope you all have a great day.

Edited to say - Thanks Troo

Just a very quick post, have had no time over the weekend.

Well today i just have to tidy house, do garden, small amount of ironing, visit sick friend, phone Dad, top up shopping, make appointments for hairdresser and doctor, deliver a birthday present, and drive over to check sister in laws house 'cos they're on holiday!!! Anyone got a short-handled broom, wouldn't want to waste my time at any point!!!

Hope all is well, (((((hugs))))) to those in need, have good days, maybe speak later! CM

    Morning all

Lillibet - I think it's just another way of showing that they've read your post without mentioning you individually in theirs......but then I could be wrong.

It's dank and dark here this morning, although they think it will get up to 21c later...yeah right. Winter duvets went on last night - very cosy, typically it wasn't as cold last night as it was last week but it's another job done.

My main childminding work has dramatically reduced to one day per week, was a bit of a shock last week but I'm actually beginning to think of the benefits this week. My before and after school children will enjoy it - will be able to do something more aimed at their age group rather than trying to find something that I can taylor to all ages....tonight we'll do some cooking, they're only here for an hour after school but it's enough time to make some muffins or a cake, they can ice it tomorrow evening.

Loads of ironing to do in a mo, need to give the bathroom a swish and swipe too. Beef stew on the menu for tonight, so that will need to be chucked at the SC at lunch time.

It's my Dads 60th in a few weeks, pressie all sorted but instead of a card I thought I'd do him a scrap book style page and frame it - picked out lots of old photos (which I'm going to reduce to fit and turn black and white) got some black and white papers and transfers and going to do a time line of his life with the years of the photos.....Got a lovely black frame in Tesco for £1.97, I'm hoping it will look great and be something a bit more memorable.

Anyway - the builders have just arrived so I'll dissapear off before they start banging and crashing around, hope you all have a great day.

  • Morning everyone.
(((Hugs to everyone who needs them)))
We had a busy weekend - I was working Saturday and then had guests all day Sunday. Lunch was a success - red pepper and lentil jalousie plus veggies, date and walnut pud with hot toffee sauce and then later after a run around at the park we had lemon drizzle cake ( which someone posted a week or so ago). All very scrumptious!
When guests had gone I blitzed all the tidying up and completed the pile of ironing and then I knew I could relax for the rest f the evening and have a quietish day today-need to clean the bathroom.
DD at school for morning. Will take kids for their usual Monday afternoon swim after lunch.
WM done one load, need to get that out and put another in. Will strip beds today but not wash sheets til tomorrow.
Not sure about dinner tonight - plenty of leftoves from yesterday, so may add to thoes.
Hope you all have a good day.

Edited to say that I also thank people's posts to acknowledge I have read them and enjoyed them. I wasn't sure of protocol being a newbie, so sorry to anyone if I have done this wrong.

:hello: Goooooooood Morning my fellow OS'ers :):):)

Very unlike me to have a bad night but last night was one of those rare one's! So, apart from the basics (whip round/BM) I'm going to be gentle with myself today

Day 1 of "Freedom Day" is a case of so far, so good; have patch, have faith, will be successful (still trotting off to the back door, but inhaling lots of fresh air instead - was concerned I'd miss my back door [STRIKE]escapes[/STRIKE] musings). Have my knitting at the ready to keep my hands busy.

Oooooh, just had call from Dentist and the appointment has been cancelled ( :j :j :j ) oops, I mean, oh dear, how very disappointing and I was so looking forward to that trip ;)not  Actually, it's worked out even better because now it will be during half term and I can double up on that trip by taking the lads off to the adventure pool in that area; every cloud/silver lining and all that.

Right, change of plan then - that 2hr chunk out of my day can now be given over to some Christmas crafting. :D Located a lovely "soldier" applique design on the website Free Patterns (which redhot posted over the weekend) and it will be just perfect for a project I have in mind for a friend who makes period costumes. A touchy-feely session through my stash is definately preferable to a dental visit :o

Have a good day, ((hugs)) for those who need or simply want them. :)

Morning all :hello: (I was in a rush to get to work earlier, but have decided to have another cuppa first so I'm still here lol)

Sarahsaver, sorry :o I didn't read posts properly, I've just realised you're now MRS SARAHSAVER - Congratulations wed.gif

Mr troo has left blobs of paint on the carpet so I'll be cleaning that off today  Ironing to do and rubbing down the doorframes and skirting boards. Also some extra exercise - I've just realised that eating lots of minstrels makes you put on weight :rotfl:

    Morning everyone!

I don't know about everyone else, but I press thanks as a way of saying hello. It does save having to mention everyone and lengthening this thread. Also, if someone is having a bad time, its a way of showing sympathy too!

Penelope Penguin - re your remark yesterday about Bruce Forsythe on Come Dancing. I always found him very entertaining, especially in shows such as The Generation Game, but I too am finding him very cringeworthy in Strictly Come Dancing. I think Tess Daly does a far superior job presenting this programme! I also think the wrong person was voted out.

Woke up to a lovely loaf that had finished in the BM and have sent DD2 off to college with a ham salad sandwich made with HM 'best of both' bread and some strawberries for her pudding. Ive been giving her money for lunch but she doesn't like the college food and so has been skipping lunch and coming home starving!

Having pasta for tea with HM sausage and carrots pasta sauce.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning :hello:

Just a quickie from me this morning.

Sang in a choir concert yesterday evening, and friend turned up with 5-day-old baby in tow (awww) - was NOT expecting to see them up and about so soon, as they had various complications and didn't get out of hospital until Friday! (They had a home birth but bubs came out with one arm wrapped round his head causing mum a fair bit of damage - then baby developed jaundice). But they both seem fine now, and I'll look forward to paying them a visit soon.

Babies are definitely the order of the day round here - colleague had hers over the weekend too! And I am still waiting for two more birth announcements, from another colleague and from my cousin, all due around now...

Funny thing is, all this isn't even making me feel broody  - I used to, but seem to have grown out of it at the grand old age of 28!

Will be hearing more about the purchase of my new flat today - even if it's just "No there's been no more progress yet":rolleyes:

Need to think of something yummy to cook for supper tonight. P'raps a fish pie. If I can pick up a bit of salmon and some spuds on the way home, I'll be well on my way.

Just had time to skip through yesterday's thread - ((hugs)) to VickyA and freyaluck.

Right, off till later - work to do!

    Love Rzl xx
