I am in the middle of collecting together bits and pieces to put in a sewing basket e.gmaterials, cottons, buttons etc for my neice (age 6) for xmas who has asked her nana for a sewing machine. I thought it would be nice to add some sewing patterns to start her off but was shocked at how much they cost.
whilst searching the internet i came across this site. :T
http://freepatterns.com
After registering (which is free) you can download there patterns and they have some really easy colour guides which you can print. :j
I have downloaded about 20 of them and printed them off and laminated them to add to her xmas box - other than the cost of printing and laminating (which i did at work for free using laminating sheets i bought from poundland) it is completly free and a lovely way to boost a present for next to nothing.
hope someone else can make use of this site also.
It isn't just for sewing it also has knitting, quilting, woodworking, papercrafts, crochet, cross stitch and others.

Brilliant. Usborne do a fairy sewing book, I was thinking of doing something similar to go with that. You know how it is when the kids produce one of these wonderful crafty type books and you haven't got the bits and pieces you need.:DI have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.
