Morning everyone, haven't had time to read the thread today, but it does seem that every day someone is a victim of robbery:eek:, horrible for you csarina:grouphug:. A hug for Freya too.
Have roasted a butternut squash with some garlic, onions and spices to be made into soup for lunch. Also made some goat's cheese and sun-dried tomato muffins - an experiment, I just used a basic muffin recipe, left out the sugar and added goat's cheese and sun-dried toms plus some thyme. They smell gorgeous.
OH is out with the boys swimming and is taking them to a laser-quest thingy this afternoon as ds1's b'day treat (his b'day was in July:o ).Dd has been busy making a 'shaker' out of a bottle and some beads for her dance exam and is now watching Snow White. All is peaceful:)
Supper tonight is salmon, not sure how I'm doing it yet, with roast quinces for pudding. I saw quinces at a farmshop yesterday, not nearly as big and golden as mine for £2.99 a kilo.0 -
Hello OS Moneysavers.
Still have my cold. Am trying to revise, have my final exam next Wednesday and then I can get my life back.
I have an interview tomorrow too for a similar job, more pay but it is more than that, my job has been getting me down lately. The trouble with my job is that everyone knew me when I was a secretary so now being a fee earner (work in law firm) I still do administrative jobs and mostly my own typing - so when I am I meant to fee earn!!!
If I do dictate it can take up to a week to get typed and I miss dates and client's are understandably peed off.
Anyway I need a job where I can live at the weekend and not worry about my job.
Will try and let you all know how interview went I hope I get it as its £10k more a year than I am earning and the firm has a really good name. All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -

Have a good day everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Freya :grouphug:
I found my candlemaking stuff :T I decided to find a permanent home for the TD - it kept being moved around. So I emptied a cupboard and squeezed it in. Then I had to find a home for the emptied cupboard's contents so I emptied another one, and so on. I ended up rearranging the whole kitchen :rotfl: Managed to completely FLY itThe wax etc. was at the back of a cupboard behind some other stuff, no wonder I couldn't find it, I thought it was in a black bag so that's what I was looking for  It was piled up neatly in boxes
Good luck with the interview, JazzyBulletproof0 -
(((hugs))) csarina so sorry about your phone, as Twink says there have been a spate of thefts recently, my dd also got a black eye as she was mugged recently and lost her phone to the b******d  part of a gang operating in that part of London, so she had to sort out phone, speak to the police and cope with the fear element as well.
Freya (((((Hugs)))) to you and your Grandma.
Quiet day here as very busy yesterday, 2 birthday parties! and both were landmark ones. Still need to go shopping but not for much thank goodness as we are still trying to use up what is in store. Face is still a bit numb (even my teeth) so might ask OH to pop out to Sainsburys with a list.
Just read that Sarahsaver has become a Mrs so big congratuations to Sarahsaver and her hubby.
Going to be brave and explore the bottom of the freezer in a mo to try and find something interesting for dinner.
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Thanks everyone for the replys, we have spoken about this to her in great detail and she accepts most of what is happening.. her hormones kicking in so she confused enough without the adults adding to it.. my ex says he will do friday to sunday if i meet him half way which i had suggested 7 months ago and he refused that then but now he wants to turn it around and do it.. dd says no to a friday as she likes to see her friends, he thinks he can change the goalposts to suit him but im not having it.. have been flexable in the past and could be in the future if he just stopped dictating to meThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
woke up this morning at 11.30 with the sniffles.. think a cold is on the way. gah. i was really hoping to get through this autumn without one. So may not get all the stuff done that i wanted to get done, might just take it easy and potter around and do a couple things on the list. see how it goes.
mrs mix: hope you manage to get stuff done today - sounds like a lot on your list!
jockettuk: your poor daughter.. hope your ex wakes up soon to the damage he's causing.. glad she has such a loving mum.
pennypincher: hope you feel better soon too!
troo: glad you found that old saucepan - have fun candlemaking!
researcher: know what you mean about the elderly.. my gran lost grandpa a few years ago after 60+ years of marriage and grandpa did all the finances.. mom had to step in to sort stuff out, she didn't even know where the chequebook was or what bills needed paying, anything like that. poor gran. hope things go well for you.
Queenie: have you looked at Allen Carr's the Easy Way to stop smoking? I quit smoking with that book nearly 2 years ago and its great, really addresses everything you need to stop .. up there *taps head*. Good luck with it anyway!
freya: I'm sorry to hear about your grandad.. :grouphug:
csarina: god, that really sucks, about your mobile, hope the little *bleep* gets caught!!
thriftlady: that soup sounds GORGEOUS.. *makes a note to buy a butternut squash wednesday*
jazzyjustlaw: i know the feeling, adminners are *always* unappreciated, i used to be admin when i worked and always felt that way. It sucks that they won't do yours... is it maybe jealousy that you made it to the top when they didn't? good luck with the interview!
and on that note, i'm gonna get my porridge/bran/groundflax/fakesugar/raisin/apple mix from the microwave where its been nuking for breakfast!!!
have a good day, everyone!

Afternoon all :j
Queenie - good luck with the smoking, I gave up at 5.30pm on Friday  I am currently wearing a patch and chewing on some nicotine gum  I feel like a junkie - my body has been physically screaming for nicotine - but my little money pot has £8.50 in it now
So far today I have peeled and chopped all the veg for tonight's roast, made the stuffing and the batter for the yorkies. I'm on my third load of washing, 1st one dried, ironed and put away, 2nd one drying and 3rd one washingHave tidied and cleaned the kitchen, and am about to tackle the bedrooms - I tell you one thing for giving up smoking - it makes you do more round the house :rotfl:
((((hugs)))) to allSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Good luck to all the potential non smokers - I did it 2 years past last June and just have to say - you will do it with Patches no bother but you really have to want to do it - I did and managed never to have another cigarette since then and dont want to have one but put the money in a terramundi pot and you cannot get it out. All the best - its worth it especially for the money you save.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Hi all, a bit late today but have been a busy little OS bee....
Freya, <hugs>, so sorry to hear about your loss.
Csarina, that's awful, I hope you resolve it without a huge phone bill to Afghanistan
Catowen - I was the same, my dad remarried for the third time and his new wife did everything in her power to upset his relationship with me. Eventually she succeeded and I haven't heard from him for years. Upsetting as my children have also lost their only grandfather.
Well we've just enjoyed a rather delicious (if I do say so myself) roast chicken dinner with a huge Eve's pudding made with apple and blackcurrants and custard for pud. Making sure my student daughter is well fed before her return to uni this evening :rotfl: She will be taking along with her a loaf of my home made seedy bread and a bag of blueberry muffins and orange and carrot spicy muffins to share between her and her brother who is also up north with her in the same university city. I seem to have been cooking all morning! so now it's time for a nice cup of tea and a browse through MSE.
Enjoy your afternoon, all! Love FF xx0
