    Morning all :hello:

I didn't make my candles. I have a bag full of wax, scented oils and an old saucepan and I can't find it :( I waited til mr troo came home so he could go into the loft (loft hatch is half above the stairs and we don't have a ladder. He kind of jumps up there, I'm too short for that lol) but it's not up there either

Mr troo bought a few tins of paint home yesterday, so the hall, stairs and landing are covered with dust sheets at the mo. We've been really busy lately and all I wanted to do today was potter about as and when I felt like it :(

    Morning all.

Not sure if I'm looking forward to today. Will be staying overnight with MOL, who's very elderly (90) and having all types of assessments tomorrow, so we need to be there. Today will have to check all paperwork, her bank books and will etc, this will mean a whole day talking over all the arrangements she's made, what will happen when she goes etc. This is not something I enjoy :( . Problem is she living on her own now, widowed after a very happy 66 year marriage, she's not good on her feet, avoids the doctor like the plague, and is as stubborn as a mule. She also lives too far away for us to be there every week. She won't contemplate living with her eldest son, (who would happily have her), or moving - it's really hard and we are all very concerned. There is no simple solution.

Anyway, my Dad's collecting the dog at around 10 am, so we don't have to concern ourselves about him. Breadmaker is on, for the loaf I will take with me - I'll cook fish for a late dinner, as we'll arrive around 2ish - she loves parsley sauce, so it'll be salmon, and veges from my organic box.

Made a soup from a ham bone and used some of the bag of the soup mix I bought to try from Holland & Barret - contains green and yellow split peas, green and red lentils, whole barley and barley flakes. It's really tasty, and when we get back late on Monday evening it'll be reheated in a flash! Maybe have a baked apple for pudding too!

Hope all your days go well.

    Good morning everyone,

Rose - know exactly how you and DD are feeling. My exOH will make an effort for DS, but not DD and she has often said daddy doesnt love/care for me. I make sure she knows there are LOTS of other people who love her and think she is wonderful, and its HIS loss. I also have a 'bad dad' although mine decided to cut ties with me nearly 5 years ago. His new wife did everthing she could to cause problems and arguments, and when i addressed the situation, he supported her, so we no longer have anything to do with them. It hurts, but i have some very good friends and family, and they make up for what we have lost.

Aussie - hope you are feeling better today xxx

Snowy - hope the induction day went well yesterday!!!!

    Shez - enjoy legoland!!!!!!

Well, im happy today, have RonanKFan coming to visit for the day, so about to put a roast chicken in the oven!!!! She has a new puppy, so is bringing her as well, so we are very excited about that!!!!
DSs team yesterday drew 3 - 3, but they were playing a very good team, and he was named man of the match!!!!! he is so pleased (and v proud mum!!!) and has a trophy to keep for the week.
Right, better go and peel the potatoes, hope everyone has a lovely day, and everyone who is poorly feels better soon xxxx
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

:hello: Goooooooood Morning fellow OS'ers :D:D:D

Had a wonderful *do nowt* day yesterday and went off instead with friends to a model show. Never been to one before, but it was really fascinating! The detail which is put into those teeny models is absolutely aweinspiring. Met and chatted with lots of new people, very refreshing :D Met one old lady who has kept a daily diary since 1943! She's told her family they are to be burned when she dies, but I was trying to convince her just how wonderful it would be for her Grandchildren and their children to read those entries. I could have chatted with her for hours :D Long day though, left home at 0710 and didn't get home again until 2130 - it was soooo luvly to get my boots off :rotfl:

I've also been having a play around with another program I downloaded the other day. It's a recipe database, menu planner and shopping list creator and it's a powerful little tool. It's only 'Free' for 14 days then to continue using it, you have to pay, so I'm making full use of the 14 free days  There's a very strong chance I'll be paying for it though, because, even though it's a US program, I can see heaps of potential for it in my world.

Had my appointment with the practise nurse on Friday re: smoking cessation. Gave up earlier in the year but ended up giving up on giving up :o but we've chatted and have drawn up a plan of action and so Monday (tomorrow) is now Freedom Day. Haven't confided in my family yet ;) Have a dental appointment tomorrow and he's going to remove a tooth at the back which has been causing problems for a looooong time and as you're not meant to smoke after an extraction anyway, it should all fall into place. Still have the scarf I'm knitting to keep my itchy fingers busy and some chewing gum (yes, typically I've bought that off the reduced shelf  ). Speaking of the scarf, I'm really rather proud of myself and how it's coming on. It's knitting up quite quickly and as I haven't knitted for eons and wasnt that good even then, it's very encouraging :D

Borrowed a beginners Spanish DVD from the library (£1 for 3 wks) so I can keep listening and keep practising in conjunction with the weekly school lessons. Then discovered a competition on the website, so I've entered that  I've set myself a target of 30 mins per day just for that.

Washing machine has finished so I'll hang that out, grab a 'ready meal' from the freezer for dinner (some chicken casserole I made weeks ago from a bag of chicken drumsticks ;) ) and get some dough working in the BM. The it's a hoover/polish/pick up whip round.

Just need to look up some affirmations for tomorrow now ....

    Buenos dias :D

Grandad sean passed away yesturday evening of lukemia, so at leasst he is no longer in pain . I am very worried about grandma Gretta though as he was her sole carer for many years. so my thoughts are with gretta at the momment.
going to do a roast for lunch, will nip to the corner shop for a bottle of wine so we can toast sean.
other than that just going to carry on my work in the garden.
