    Congratulations, SarahSaver!! :beer:

    Well, Freecycle has done it again. We've just come back from collecting two black plastic sacks full of boy's clothes. All manner of things - shirts, t-shirts, jumpers, hats, trousers, sports trousers, shorts - you name it, it was there! DS is absolutely :j over the "Linkin Park" hoodie that he found in the pile.

    However, we also came back with a Pokemon duvet/pillowslip set, an almost brand new Pokemon (Pikachu) backpack, a string of rope lights with footballs on them and .... a Nintendo Game System!! :confused:

    The lovely lady kept saying "would you like a ...." and we kept saying "yes please!". :laugh:

    Only trouble is, now I've got a whole heap of washing and ironing needing doing. :rolleyes:
    :hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

    Hi everyone! been working today. Got home at 5.20 to find DH had cooked tea(pizza and salad) and there was a roaring fire going - our first this year, he'd also hung out the washing, fetched it in again and did all the washing up!:j so have been really spoiled today!:D he was also OS as the wood came form a recycled pallet from work!;)
    Had a letter from the hospital today offering me my yearly colposcopy in November. Got to ring to make the appointment.

    PennyPincher - I'm a big fan of Martina Cole too, read them all, she's got a new one out soon, saw it advertised in Woolworths.

    Congratulations Sarahsaver!:j

    Welcome to Topgranny!:D

    Congratulations on the allotment Freyaluck!:j

    Hugs to all those feeling poorly and I hope you've all had a good day

    Evenin' all,

    Just popping in during a relaxing evening - I am dipping into the Radio 3 Opera North broadcast of "Rigoletto" in between tonight's two X Factor programmes - whoever said my musical tastes weren't eclectic :rotfl:

    Well I managed to get SOME things done today - 2 sacks of stuff taken to a charity shop; 4 pairs of shoes taken to the menders; coat picked up from the dry cleaners; 1 load of washing done; 2 lots of wine ordered (1 lot with £20 of discount vouchers, the other being the Times offer of 3 bottles for just the P&P cost) :D; card sent to friends with new baby; v.v.cheap ticket ordered on lastminute.com for a show I want to see next week.

    Then again, I haven't got around to doing any cooking, or getting my washing dry :rolleyes:

    topgranny - welcome! In answer to your question about moving smileys and avatars, !!!!!! is a great place to start. If you get stuck, ask the advice of posters on here like Nelski or Katgoddess - they use lots of them! Have you seen JackieO's avatar - now THAT's the sort of granny I like ;)

    Sarahsaver - congrats on the wedding :love:

    freyaluck - great news about the allotment :D

    Penny-Pincher!! - hope you're feeling better, and AussieLass, it's not like you to be so down, hope you're back to your usual cheery self soon ((hugs))

    Love 'n' hugs to these and everybody else

    Rzl xx :wave:

    Well Mum kept M&S in business whilst I was away :eek: Leicester has thelargest covered market in europe s we r told but she bought veg from m & s.
    Used up ALL the spinach tonight as I made chinese foodand sat on the floor (dirty !!!!!! special treat for the kids and mr saver - footie was on)
    Off to new in laws tomorrow for lunch - she is pretty OS too in fact got me into using more organic things too.
    Hidden crisps and sweets found in cupboard from mum's 'reign'. Nearly threw them out but didn't.
    Moved the chicken run - mum is scared of birds (never been the same since the film of the same name) so they hadnt been mucked out :eek:
    Also instead of putting away all the honeymoon laundry I caught up with the backlog of mum's stay - she had done all the laundry for the kids but put nothing away :(
    Introduced DS1 to the joys of toast done on the fire.
    DD represented the city in cross country today :)
    Whilst I was away Ds's both decorated ds2's bedroom wall with a fetching mural, a freehand expressionist piece in felt tips :eek:

    But hey - I am chilled about all this. Saw a girl same age as my daughter whilst I was in India - laying a pavement.

    Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 8th Oct 2006. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

    When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

    Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    okay, technically i haven't even been to bed yet, but since the boards are quiet i thought i might as well get this started before i toodle off to bed.
    Had a good day, got everything done that i wanted to get done, almost - hung the curtain lining up in the living room (so its all toasty warm in here now even without the heating on!), removed the old upholstery tacks and cover on a footstool, put the new cover on that i made yesterday and hammered in new upholstery tacks, and made a matching tablecloth for a nearby table. Also made another "Sausage" draught excluder for the front door, although stuffing it will have to wait till i get to the haberdashery shop.
    Plans for tomorrow include: making a chicken stew (with dried beans and grains in it), big pressurecooker pot of it with bread, *yum*, making some covers for the arms of the sofa to help protect them, seeing if i can do something about lining the bedroom curtains, laundry, and after all that i might get started on some quilting - see how time goes.
    What about everyone else? what're you up to - or is it the case of sunday being a day of rest? Look forward to reading everyone's posts (when i get up, hopefully around 10am tomorrow!) :T
