Morning All
Was supposed to be doing some cleaning and a trip to a toddler group today but I've had an emergency call to Blackpool off my sister. Apparently her boiler is making fun noises, not sure what i'm supposed to do but I will go and have a look.
Later it will be back to the cleaning which is not to bad really as i'm now on top of it. Also realised yesterday that I didnt do any washing yesterday because I didnt have any its a first cant decide if its because I am getting more organised or because sister has moved out.
Have a good day everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
morning everyone.
was a really restless night for me. I was up and down for the loo so many times. I wasn't even managing an hour between trips. DH actually woke up and asked if i was ok - i think he thought it was going to be last night - best not be today as i know he is really busy at work and will feel guilty if he has to leave them to take me to the hospital.
It's very wet again here, and i can't see me getting much done. Probably best to have a take it easy day. I need to do some more washing, and will try to do a stew for the SC. I still need to empty it from yesterdays curry as it was still steaming when i went to bed.
catowen - again, hugs. Sounds like you have two wonderful friends. Hopefully you will only be hard up for the week, and won't suffer too much.
shez did loads of fat come off your duck? I only ever buy duck breasts, and that is what shocks me about them. And they appear to shrink as you cook them.I suppose it is better than eating it though.
Anyway, best get on as i am gasping for another cuppa, and have to deal with the cats.

Morning everyone. Catowen and Stressedmotherof one, how horrible
I've had my purse stolen before and it's such a horrible feeling <hugs> to both of you.
Grey and miserable here this morning. Yesterday's washing is still on the line, I suppose I'll have to give in and go and get it in at some point today
I've done two more loads of washing which I shall have to put in the TD as they're towels. Sigh.
Heard yesterday that I hadn't got the part time job I'd applied forso will have to keep looking.
Got to go into town later on to post a parcel and to collect some coffee from the supermarket which I missed off my shopping list this week:rolleyes: can't live without my caffeine!!
Have a good day everyone, at least it's Friday!
Brekkie: HM toast and marmalade
Lunch: HM soup and sandwich
Dinner: Salmon fillet and roast vegetables.

Morning all,
Have had really bad cold that has lastwed overe a week and also I have been devising a weekly routine - things to do every day and things to do once a week for each day, plus 15 mins of decluttering each day - which can get longer but I don't have to feel obliged to do more. So far so good......dh has invited colleagues round for dinner tomorrow and the house is pretty much ok - won't need to do a panic clean and can think about food..
Selection of hors d'oeuvres - HM mayo, hard boiled eggs, prawns, hm marinated mushrooms, hm pickled onions + beetroot, pate and hm bread
Main - pork in cider vinegar sauce, champ, selection of organic veggies (depending on what arrives today)
Pudding - HM lemon tart, cheese and hm oatcakes.
This is a complete cheat because tons of it is already in the cupboard or freezer - OS rules :T :T :T
Must Dyson the stairs in a minute - one of Fri chores and then off to the farm shop for my pork
Made the Christmas cake yesterday - Jane Grigson's orange and ginger one - one big one and 4 little ones in small baked bean tins for pressies - have to feed them with Cointreau each week.
Hugs to Catowen and Stressed mum - have a good weekend and see you all on Mon“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Morning all  Haven't read the thread yet, so forgive me if I've missed anything critical.
I've had an interesting couple of days. I'm currently waiting for our Landlord to show up and lend me £40 to get us through to our next payment day, as Ebay and my little greetings card business couldn't breach the gap in time. Its only three or four days, but people have to eat in that time! Thank goodness for Matt, he's an :A and not only our Landlord, but a friend as well.
Aside from that, I went for my first four-week weigh in with the Doc yesterday and ... ~drum roll~ ... I've lost 21 pounds!! In four weeks! :T I'm absolutely over the moon about that - and it explains why my trousers keep falling down. I've got many more 21 pounds' to lose, but my goodness that's a great start!
I've also heard from a publisher in the States that they're going to publish one of my poems. :j It was my first submission to them, so I'm very pleased about that, too! If you're curious, PM me and I'll point you at my Blog, where you can read it.
Yesterday was Book Day at school and DS went as a Red Indian from Peter Pan, resplendent in t-shirt which had been dyed with tea and rinsed in vinegar mordant. He had an old pillowcase cut up for a loincloth, the elastic top off a pair of red tights for a headband, and a cardboard tomahawk. OS fancy dress rules!! :T
So, as you can see, its been a weird couple of days.
OS for today includes making a chicken & sweetcorn pie for tea tonight and trying to dry two washloads of wet washing without using electricity or gas.
Better go, this is turning into a book! :rotfl: Have a lovely day, all - and stay warm and dry.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Good Morning All!!
What a miserable day!!! Very mild though, the heating was on in work yesterday and when I got home the house felt horrid, cold and damp, I refuse to put the heating on yet so started dinner straight away as an excuse to put the gas burners on!!Also made a weetabix cake as an excuse to put the oven on.
Catowen, what lovely friends you have, I hope they catch the little s*d.
SOMO1 - hugs for you too, hope it turns up.
Will need to book a couple of days off next week as I have been asked to go for an interview for a casting agency. and it is DH birthday on Friday
(13th, I know, he was actually born on Friday the 13th). Need to find a nice restaurant for next Friday night, we have a couple that we love and know we can rely on but always like to find somewhere new.
We're off to Legoland on Sunday, DH was doing a fire safety demo there a couple of weeks ago and they were given free tickets afterwards. Will do a picnic particularly as the weather looks as though it should be okay so far, that way we just need to shell out for teas & coffees (will have HM soup in the flask).
Feeling a bit under the weather at the moment, have a sore throat coming too, time to start the echinacea I think.
Washed the floors last night, hung out a wash this morning, daren't do any more in this weather although have two loads that need to be done. This weekend will need to wash down the skirting and paintwork downstairs and dust upstairs but that will be all, oh and the bathroom needs doing but will ask DH to do that.
Hugs to all, have a lovely weekend.

Just been watching an item on Breakfast news about convenience food. A couple were buying ready made mash:eek: . The reporter was showing them a bag of potatoes and explaining that they were so much cheaper than ready made mash. The woman was saying she didn't want to peel and wash and cook and mash them:eek: How lazy can anyone be?Saving for the future of the earth0 -

Hello everybody,
DGS just gone to bedhe has been such a good little boy for Granny today. The stairs look brilliant. DH has sealed them already. He had to tell me he was the first to climb them. Men, they can be soooooo immature sometimes. He took a few photo's but accidently left the camera up there.
I'm feeling awful again today. Had to resort to getting up about 2am and gargling salt & warm water to try and help the discomfit. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow. How long can this flu drag on. ((((hugs)))) for all those other ones that have it too, I must have caught your germs.
XDIL coming to visit DGS tomorrow. She says she MIGHT stay here tomorrow night, I'm hoping she might NOT:whistle: She will have to sleep on the couch.
Hope you find your bike SOMO1. Seems sticky fingers is in the air.
PoshPaws :T Congratualtions. You must be chuffed to bits.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
