  • Morning all!

DH off work today, so we're off out for the day. Need to do some food shopping as have rellies coming over the weekend, so will be cooking a casserole (maybe switch on Rayburn) and more baking. My family love this OS stuff - there's always a selection of new recipe cakes and biscuits in the tin!

Phone call from my sister last night. She and her children have a different half term from us, so she's intending to come down for a few days during her holiday.

    Have a great day!

:hello: Gooooooood Morning fellow OS'ers :D:D:D

After a very busy day yesterday, I plan to do some OS R&R between necessities today.

Yesterday popped into our local Haberdashery shop while I was in town and they had some "job lots" of gorgeous wool on sale. That was all the temptation I needed. Knitting isn't really my thing, but the wool is soooo beautiful and I'd seen scarves on the Lion Brand website's free patterns in similar wool and decided even I could knit up a couple of scarves between now and Christmas. Needed to get some dishcloth yarn anyway for my peg loom. Boys were surprised to see me knitting in the evening, so I asked if they'd like to learn. D12yo decided he would and he watched, I tutored (repeating my Mothers knitting instructions: in-over-thru-and-off) and he's now in the process of making me a dishcloth :D Bless. He'd has a traumatic day yesterday but the knitting, unsurprisingly, had a very calming affect ;):)

Need to make a couple of loaves today for gifting. Got some cold porridge I'm going to throw into one to see what happens

Had a good shop in Sainsbury's and picked up some reduced items and got to use my Nectar card for the first time and as I paid by Tesco Visa (which gets paid off in full each month) I got 2 lots of points :j Had a smallish fine on my library books and even they take Visa so I got points on my fine too  :o

D11yo has had a week of it with his toe (poor mite). First he got his big toe kicked instead of the ball by a pair of size 8 feet at the weekend - lots of cold flannels later, he was hobbling quite well. 2 days later, D12yo kicked a ball into the same toe and the nail split back. Hopefully this is one time things don't happen in 3's

mrs mix - hope dh's lorry gets sorted speedily.

((hugs)) for those who want/need them.

Have a fun Friday, :D

  • Morning Guys!

OH and O are still suffering with this bloomin throat and cold thing. I really need antibiotics but am unable to get to the surgery today as so rough-may call GP up and see if he will give me some anyway:confused: I dont think it warrants a home visit as there is always someone worse off than you that need the doctors time.

WM is on, DW will be put on after breakfast and cleaner here today so nothing much else cleaning wise to do.

We had to go the parents evening last night for new parents-we both werent very well but wanted to attend. It was more like a party:D :rotfl: OH was happy as he had a brandy which made him feel better, but I could only have a soft drink....shame as they had some nice wines there. Someone made me a hot choc though;)

One of our mates has invited us round on Sunday for a Roast. He normally comes round here once a week or something and have known him for years. He's been seeing a girl for a while now and wants us to meet her:rolleyes: ....I kind of mother him and he's older than me...lol. It be nice to see him happy and settled, he has been after a companion for years.

Seems a little warmer today and the heating hasnt come on as its set to come on if under 18c. Its awfully wet outside though and miserable.

SIL is coming today to do the cleaning and some extra jobs as she didnt come the other day. The bathroom cupboard is a mess and there are tons of products I can no longer use as its flared skin up that she can keep for her and nieces.

Anyway, Id better go as DD has 20 mins till she has to leave and its non-uniform day today, so god knows what she'll be wearing:eek:

    Breakie: Marmite on toast
Lunch: Baked Spud, Ham and coleslaw
Dinner: Ribs, Mash and Corn on the cob

Have a great day everyone. Hugs.

    Morning all,
Just been watching an item on Breakfast news about convenience food. A couple were buying ready made mash:eek: . The reporter was showing them a bag of potatoes and explaining that they were so much cheaper than ready made mash. The woman was saying she didn't want to peel and wash and cook and mash them:eek: How lazy can anyone be? I felt really smug with my 20 kg sack of mud covered local farm spuds which were even cheaper than the supermarket bag:D Anyway, there is a programme on at 7pm on BBC2 tonight about convenience foods. I'm sure a lot of Old Stylers will be watching with their mouths open in amazement ;)

I've got to go to my kid's harvest festival this morning- hope it doesn't go on too long. Then off to buy the weekend essentials-wine :D

Rushed supper tonight because of dd's dance lesson, so we're having convenience food from the freezer - home made bolognese sauce and spaghetti :D

Have a good day everyone - don't peel too many spuds:D

    Morning all :hello:

Master troo has just left for work - when will he finally get himself up in the morning? I can't cope with rushing around soooo early lol.

Miss troo's school has a teacher training day. Or as they like to call, it a Continuing Professional Development day  So she'll probably be in bed til lunchtime :D

We're off to Trago Mills today :T Money in envelope, ready to spend :T

Second load of washing is in the machine, I'm too scared to put it on the line, it's so windy I think it might be blown away by the time we get home.

    Good morning everyone,

Still down this morning after yesterday, my cough is getting worse, prob cos i am feeling down. Lovely friend came round with a bottle of wine, and when she left, she had hidden £10 in my kitchen for me to find once she had left, as she wanted to make sure i had some money over the weekend. It made me cry, some people are so kind!!! Other lovely friend is going to ring M & S this morning on my behalf, to give them my crime ref number, and to get them to look at their CCTV as we know exactly were i was, and the time, so hopefully they will find the b*****d in the act!!!!!
Anyway, our days have to go on, and i have 2 little ones here today, but its tipping down outside, so i think i will let them go on the computer today (Cbeebies and Nickjr have some great things for really little ones) and see what else they want to do!!!! Need to do some cleaning, as i really let it slide yesterday but thats it.

Troo - which Trago Mills are you going to? We love Trago!!!!
Right, packed lunches need making!!!! Have a lovely day everyone,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
