  • Morning all! Hugs to those who are not feeling well or who have sick little people around :grouphug:

Had a busy morning so far, put a load of washing on the line but it immediately rained on it  I thought the rain was supposed to start at lunchtime, but hey ho, it'll stay out there for a few more hours yet.

Put a chicken casserole in the slow cooker and a loaf in the breadmaker. There's a pot of bottom-of-the-fridge veggies simmering on the hob to make soup for lunch as it's distinctly cooler here today. Am trying not to put on the heating just yet but I know OH will flick the switch at the weekend, he hates being cold.

Going to try and finish off the HM Christmas presents later to clear the decks a bit.

Breakfast: grilled field mushrooms and tomatoes on toast, scrummy
    Lunch: HM soup and sandwich
Dinner: Chicken casserole with red cabbage

    Have a great day everyone!
    FF xx

Yeeha I had another spurt of activity. Brilliant when that happens as it looks as though I`ve worked all day but it didn`t take long. I am making a curried squash soup and I`ve got to roast the acorn squashes wrapped in foil so me being os, of course, I have to get something else in the oven, so the yeast is rising ready for bread and while I`m waiting I`ve prepared a batch of easy yo.

Coffee soon and time to get the shadows on, as me get up and go`ll be lagging if I don`t do something about it
  • Morning everyone,

didn't post yesterday as DH was under my feet all day in the guise of coming to my midwife appointment with me. I'm secretly thrilled that his boss has let him work from home every time, as it has been really good to go together.

Pud is 3/5 engaged so i could be looking at any time now. scary as only the bathroom is completely as i want it, and all the other rooms, particularly bedrooms are a long way from that. I'm trying to flylady, and do at least 10 things a day, and stretch my energy a bit further than it wants to go.

Woke up to find DH has put the heating on. I was going to try and wait till the baby arrived, but oh well. As it is chucking it down outside, it may mean that i can get some clothes dried inside. Will have to put the towels i washed this morning in the TD though.

a belated happy birthday to squeaky  I think i have that flavoured oil that you mentioned. supposed to be served with fish?

sorry to hear so many of you have throat bugs. lemon juice in water does it for me as it has the added vitamin C, and the heat clears a blocked nose.

best go and get on or i'll end up sat on here all day.

    Michelle, xx

  • Hello all.

CATOWEN Hugs to your DD:grouphug: It breaks my heart if DD is upset by things like that - and she's only 4!

Very wet and autumnal here. WM done a towel load and going to be very un-OS and put them in the dryer.

DD at school for morning and DS and I have been into town to get afew bits I need for lunch on Sunday when some friends are coming over. DH can get the fresh bits on Saturday while I am at work, but I needed bits for baking a cake and a pud (going to try the lemon drizzle cake mentioned recently and then pud will be date and walnut pud with hot toffee sauce). Couldn't trust DH to get right baking bits!

We are going to mother-in-laws for dinner tonight so that's something to look forward to - kids very excited.

A dear friend of ours is 20 weeks pregnant so I have looked out a cross-stitch birth picture and am going to make a start on that and just complete personal details once baby is here. Must try and get started with that tonight.

Hope you all have a good afternoon.

    Morning all

Am stunned others are ill as I have had a sore throat all week with a cold. Its been coming for ages. Cannot shift it. Finally let it win and had to take the day off. I hate feeling ill. Hope you all get better soon.

I am going to stay in my dressing gown all day - watch daytime tv and peruse the boards.

    Take care everyone.

    Hello everybody,

I haven't read the thread yet but will go back shortly and read it. I feel worse today. I can't remember the last time I felt this under the weather. Typical isn't it. I was just watching Jamies Kithen over here. I've been following the series. I can't really see how it's going to work with the kids they've chosen .

DGS has had his moments today. We made jam drops this morning and a mulberry pie this arv. Although the mulberry mixture had been frozen I just had to make the pastry. It was really nice. Served it with custard. He loves to help & watch me cook. I just wanted to curl up on the bed but it kept him happy for a while.

Stairs go in tomorrow so that's good. Ok off to surf and then to bed. Hope you are all having a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
