AussieLass - no I haven't moved yet  though I'm hoping for positive news tomorrow, the HA guy has spoken direct to my solicitor and we think everything might finally be falling into place. Thanks for asking :D

Day hasn't quite gone to plan, insomuch as d11yo hasn't had as much attention as we both hoped (go on, ask me *why* I decided today was a good day to tackle my computer stuff? :wall: )

Had some very minor successes, ticky boxes ticked on the overall To Do list so not a complete waste of a day.

Good to see you back, BR and Snowy ... well done on surviving day 1! Hope you sleep well tonight :)

Talking of which, Johnathan Strange awaits so I'm off to my bed shortly too! Loooooong stressful day ends *here*!!! :naughty:

Catch up with you all tomorrow

Kethry - if you bought the pie weights on the understanding that they are suitable for the microwave, then surely it'd be acceptable for you to return them on the basis of them being unfit for the purpose?

I thought of that but two problems. 1) i bought them about a month ago and i have *no* idea where the receipt is. 2) when i bought them i didn't actually *ask* if they were suitable to go in the microwave... since the original site didn't specify microwaveable ceramic pie weights, (just ceramic ones) i thought all ceramic pie weights were microwaveable..

i quote from the page: "Ceramic pie weights hold heat well and are microwave-safe."

    see what i mean?

anyway it means i don't have leg to stand on when it comes to returning them, plus i've opened the box so.... i'm just chalking it up to experience, and hey, at least i've got a set of proper pie weights now (before i was using rice.. LOL)..

    thanks for the thought tho!

    Morning everyone!

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 31.10.06. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Now I'm kicking myself.....I had hoped yesterday evening's feeling of being utterly exhausted would have led to me sleeping like a baby all night long, but it was not to be! In the end I didn't actually get to bed until around midnight...and I haven't quite managed four consecutive hours of kip. I will have another go in a minute or two...but I know there's no hope of a decent sleep now.

So, what has happened since last night? Well, precisely nothing of course!

My old style endeavours today will be rather limited as my w*** hours are 10.00 am until 7.00 pm. That is quite a long day, though I might get a wee bit of light Old Styling in before I set off in the morning. The house needs a good going over with the vacuum cleaner (alas no carpets yet!) so if I get that done I'll be pleased.

Have a fabulous Tuesday everyone, and Happy Hallowe'en!!

Goodmorning SnowyOwl and everyone to follow.

Hope you managed to get some more sleep SnowyOwl. Similar problem here, except it was the wind howling around the house that has been keeping me awake. I've been doing a bit of ironing, but have given it up to come on OS :D

Have a lovely OS day everyone

Morning Snowny and all who follow :hello:
Glad that your first day back at w*** was ok, it should get better as you get more confident with things. :)

Didn't get round to posting yesterday as Mondays are a busy day and I never really get round to any OS. Today however is my day off so have a very long list which includes the library, the post office, an exercise class, a visit to Mr T's, some ironing, some jam doughnut muffins and some crafting ( hopefully) :D

:grouphug: to everyone thats feeling low, down or just wants a little pick me up.

Right, planning on going to see Mr T in about an hour and just remembered that I have a hair appointment later. Need to check my ebay account to see if the last buyer has paid so I can get rid of the other bits.

Oh, just seen that OH has not taken his Halloween costume to work, need to call him and ask if I need to drop it over - men.

Have a great day, will try and pop in later
Bargin R - fingers crossed for good housey news today

    Bye

    :hello: Good Morning all :):)

Snowy, hope you manage another couple of hours sleep, those are long hours!

Nothing very exciting happening here today, but I really need to go around each room and do some decluttering - it's amazing how quickly things build up and this half term seems to have been the worst!

Still need to do a little more with the computer, so that will take priority on the grounds that pulling out the hard drive and delving into the spaghetti junction of wires yesterday meant a lot of [STRIKE]*hidden*[/STRIKE] tidied away odds and bobs had to be moved for access  Got some lifestyle changes coming up which means I really do need to get this lot sorted sooner rather than later, tempus fugit!

Will need to put the BM on and d12yo wants to do a practise run of a Swiss Roll before they go back to school tomorrow and need to do it for 'real' in his Food Tech lesson. SC will be given the task of conjuring up something tantilisingly tasty while we all get on with other stuff. Nice big pile of ironing to be done at some point too.

Have a good day everyone, ((hugs)) all round.
