morning folks....
:grouphug: to merakl and those who are feeling under the weather. Good luck to those starting new jobs today!
yesterday's efforts were pretty good: i got the calender photos finished (which have now been sent off to print, should get em in a few days) and the ebay things sorted out - a friend is listing them for me. I've just got to find a box for one item and then i can give it over to her - hopefully it'll get me some money for christmas.
Also did the ironing last night, while we watched Torchwood (anyone else drools over Captain Jack?) and that was on today's list of things to do so i'm ahead of myself! got to go out later, get a few bits n bobs from Aldi and some dog food - ran out yesterday. then gonna work on xmas stuff. I'm making small drawstring bags for stockings for the family, mom, dad and gran, who are coming for the day at christmas, going to fill the stockings with small things but also things like chocolate coins and satsumas. i've made two.. got three to go. got a couple other things to make with the sewing machine too, including finishing off a quilt for my gran, but that i'm saving for a while. then once the sewing is done i can pack the machine up into the closet of doom until after christmas (i hope).
i found out yesterday that the "microwaveable" ceramic pie weights aren't microwaveable.. i was gonna make heating bags from those, but they spark when put in the microwave, good thing i checked before it blew the microwave up. waste of £3. Fortunately a good friend (waves to Lightisfading) pointed me in the direction of doing the same thing with rice, so i shall do that instead. just annoyed that i wasted the £3.
Lunch is tuna & sweetcorn mayo, dinner is sausage and baked bean casserole. yum.
right.. gotta get on with it! have a good day everyone...

Afternoon:hello:
Mirakl, so sorry to hear of your friend, how very sad especially for his daughter. Thinking of you.
Pink hope Tillys op is over now & you can rest easy.
Snowyowl & Crezychick, hope your first day has gone well, how exiting.
Paulie's Girl, don't know what to say to you really. I only hope that both you & your dad can remain strong during an obviously difficult time, and also be there for your mum.
Catowen, hope the tablets kick in soon & your feeling much better.
I'm now on a weeks holiday from work & so have promptly come down with somethingMy throats so sore even I can't manage to eat. I suppose it's from the stress I've had recently. At least it's made me stay in & catch up on a few things. OH is currently tidying our loft since it's not been done for over 15 yrs!! Lots for the charity shop though.
Bye for now WestyNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -
Kethry - ooohhh Captain Jack:p
Mirakl ((hugs))
To everyone on the job front, good luck to you if finishing, starting or looking for a new job (mirakl, snowy, crazychik, tired mum, pooky) You may have read that I quit last week. I didn't realise how much they had run me into the ground until I snapped! ANYWAY - Drum Roll - I HAVE A NEW JOB - starts next week. :j :j :j Only three days a week for a year, going to full time next year. Lot less stress and more money (well will be when full time again).
More good news I think? Had a scan this morning after a kidney stone last month, right ureter is dilated but they said that was common in women who have had children, they didn't seem to see any stones though:D
Did a pile of ironing this morning and have loads of towels drying in this gorgeous sunny weather. Tonight will have bacon & potato hot pot for tea.
look after yourselves
doddsyWe must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Afternoon
Not alot done here today and OH has just gone to collect DD. OH cleaned the blinds, swept and moped the floors downstairs and upstairs. I cleaned the loo:D and 2 washloads have been done and taken upstairs.
We're going to try the sticky buns later and maybe do some pizza bases.

Afternoon all - hope that the rest of the day brings everyone joy/happiness etc. ((((((to everyone))))))
Snowy - how was your first day at work? Mine was good, think I will enjoy it, but as with new jobs, there is always something new to learn. Like the computer system, Ive gone from working in 1 call centre to another, learning a new product, and system etc - is very daunting at first, but I have confidence that I will get used to it soon (i hope). Smaller office (gone from a room full of 180+ people) to an office with about 6 people in it - Big difference. People seem friendly - time will tell. keep you posted.....
Got back home to find the kids have wrecked the housetidying up can wait, got lots of washing to get through 1st, WM allready on, now to sort dinner out, then uniforms for me, OH, DS & DD work/school 2mr.
My listings on e-bay ended yesterday, sold 11 items, which surprisingly - everyobody by 1 has paid, so my evening will be spent wrapping.
Take care for now everyone

Hello
:grouphug: to mirakl - so sorry to hear your news
:grouphug: to all those suffering from lack of sleep
:grouphug: to all those starting a new life today - be it new jobs or new no-jobs (IYSWIM)
think i got most people covered there ^^ but :grouphug: to anyone else who feels they want to take advantage
Got some fab news on Saturday - our shop ended the period +17% on target which means we got top level commission - and as I took £10k, I will get £200.97 (ooh the all important 97p :rotfl: ) next month :j :T
However when i get paid in December, I'll only get "basic wages", the commission I earn in November, and the overtime from the first two weeks in December as I get paid 2wks early because of Xmas - and as I'm only contracted 10hrs a week (yet usually do 20ish - and I will be doing 40+ the week leading up to Xmas) December and January will be tight, but February should be nice!! :rotfl: Especially as it's a short month!!
At least I have Xmas sorted already though and can plan ahead a bit. Might treat myself to a dining table and chairs with the money though as I'm fed up of eating off my lap in front of the TV - and certainly don't want to be doing that with my Xmas dinner!!
Set myself a new challenge over the weekend - to not buy a single present during 2007!!! Decided though that so that I don't restrict myself to presents from Boots, Tescos and Sainsburys, money made on Ebay and Amazon doesn't count as "money" so i can still spend it IYSWIM :rotfl: Track my progress below!
Not much OS today - WM done 2 loads (line-dried because of the fab weather!), dishes washed, and Ginghams 3-Bean Chilli ready to be cooked for tea
Take care all0 -

Hope you have had a lovely day xx:beer:0 -
Hi all :hello:
I haven't actually read the thread but I hope everyone's OK
I was itching to get back to being OS but I forgot that mr troo isn't back at work til tomorrow. I can't do ANYTHING while he's in the house, he just gets in my way - even if he's not in the same room:rolleyes:
AND - I got back into work and all 'my' jobs have been left for me to do. I admit I'm a control freak when it comes to certain things and I hate anyone messing with my stuff (it has to be done a certain wayand don't you dare touch my computer) and I suppose I should also admit that I'm the only office person there BUT would it kill the boss to put things in files instead of sticking a post-it on things saying 'to file'? :rotfl: So I've been at work all day.
Just having a mince pieThen I might hoover. If I can be bothered.

Hello everyone
Mirakl - So sorry to hear your news x What a dreadful thing to happen ((hugs))
***************************************************
Feeling better so am back at w*** - still have the sniffles and a cough but I can live with that until it goes completely. It was driving me mad being at home, having all that time off and not being able to do something productive with it!
Anyhoo, yesterday I did some more ironing - where does it all come fromanother load of washing, although it was still damp when I fetched it in off the line after being there all day, and made a meal plan for the next few weeks.
OH has decided that we need a break (also its our anniversary of first meeting soon) so we are going to look at bargain breaks on the tinternet this evening.
Will be leaving w*** soon so am aiming to clean the bathroom when I get in and cook something fairly quickish for dinner. OH can have scampi and chips and I'll have some leftover frozen mash and fish.
I can't thank anyone from w*** for some reason, so will do so later xxIts nice to be important but more important to be nice!0
