Have never quite gotten over that and christmas has never been the same since unfortunately and i know how 'odd' you must feel - not knowing what to do/say etc - thigns will get better in time and just remember in the future to tell the little girl about her daddy.
Nix143 - happy birthday hun. hope you have a good one :bdaycake:
Had to do a pregnancy test today - was pooping myself that it was goign to be positive - (fyi im on the pill but i took my last one wednesday, slept with bf on thursday and he didnt 'control' himself), so have been panicking all weekend but trying to relax and chill for things to take their course. I am good with takign my pill but sundays tend to mess me up - i work 3 - 10pm and im supposed to take my pill at 6pm so i normally forget to take pack with me and take it when i go home or not at all (but i make sure theres no hanky panky till ive had my next one!) . but still nothing this morning (4 days since last pill) so i took a test today and it was negative - thank god!! so thats chilled me a bit so im happy now and i think it is just AWOL at the minute cos i was stressing - but am more relaxed now i know that im not!!!!! dont get me wrong i love kids, and i totally adore my 2.5 year old but thats why i dont want another one - dont think i could love another little one as much as i love my Benji (see aviator pic). sure thats nto true thoguh but did anyone else feel like that??
Anyway - the mission for the rest of the day/evening is to
* make these damn rice bags once babe has settled.- have been saying i will do them for months now and give them as Xmas presents but still have not got around to making them and its just laziness so getting bum in gear tonight
*writing a letter to my grand parents about my family tree - have been investigating one side (my grandad on my mums) for a while now and want to start on my grandma (mums side) and also look into my other grandparents (dads side) too but ive managed to find one of my nans sisters sons so he is helping me with them.
*searching on Ebay for the last of my Xmas shopping - ive only got my mum, dad and step mum, step bro and sister to do and then i can concerntrate on Ben and my bf then. plus i might look for some Xmas decorations on there too!

Good evening all O.S.ers,
I don't know if anyone is as interested as me in the results of my hard labour setting up my classroom for the launch of term, but the kids' reaction was so good, I filmed it. They spent ages coming into the classroom as they were all trying to take in each detail, and didn't seem to know where to look next. They were all making exclamations "Cool" "Wow" "have you seen that?" It was very gratifying to watch them appreciating D.H.'s efforts (and mine of course) Members of staff kept popping in throughout the day to have a look around, and several brought in extra things for me to put up in the room, one even went home at lunch time to get some things for me.
Anyway, sorry to bang on about it, but it has taken me up body and soul for the past week, and I'm glad its paid off.... now all I have to do is teach for 8 weeks.
On the home front, D.H. is warming up some ready prepped meals I made last half term, so its ratatouille & Dumplings with farm shop sausages for evening meal.
I'm capitalising on my confused body clock and trying to get early nights, & early starts. I feel a lot more able to get things done, and slept really well last night for a change. Just haven't done any exercise or dog walking today. Maybe I should do one in the dark?
Off to do yet more ironing, B.M-ing, & Op. Xmas child box. (Just needs wrapping & labelling, only doing 1 this year) I'm checking out C.A.R.T. for child sponsorship, any experience of this anyone?

Doddsy - congratulations on the job, at least you'll have lots of time for oldstyling:j

DS1 just got back from college - very tired and grumpy, needs an early night I think!
Pink - hope the kitty is ok ! and that all those starting new jobs had a good day at work!
Listened to my Paul Mckenna think yourself thin cd this afternoon, dont know if it will help but its excellent at making you relax, will use it tonight as the last few nights I've suffered from insomnia again:rolleyes:

xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Good day everybody.
Admit I spent money, but it was in an Help the Aged shop. Found four volumes of the history of ancient cultures. Not everyones cup of tea, but then neither is Earl Grey. :rotfl:
Only 99p each
Also had to pay for pertrol, and toll, but get it and more back on expenses.
Even better, I had a great morning, driving through the Kent countryside, listening to the radio, and being paid for it.

Evening All
Happy Birthday Nix143
(((Sammy_kaye18))) Hope your little one gets better soon.
Today has been quite good - stuck with my time sheet pretty much and achieved a lot. Normally I concentrate on 1 thing - get loads done but then get fed up as everything else is behind - and then I go round in a vicious (sp) circle. But today have done a bit of everything.
Tomorrow plan more of the same but must check to see how many sweets we have got for tomorrow night and nip out for some more if necessary.
Have a great evening.0 -
Hello everyone
Well I am wrecked after my first day...I got on fine...had a little bit of training in the morning, but in the afternoon was left to get on with serving the general public. It was fine! Didn't make too many mistakes...but even if I did make a mistake or two it wasn't the end of the world.
I am honestly far too exhausted to tell you anything else. Think I'll have a shower and wash my hair, and then be in my bed for about 9.30 pm. This may be a knock on effect of having virtually no caffeine today. I wonder if I will have a restless night tonight.
CrazyChic - I am glad to hear your first day went well too. It's so hard to get an accurate impression of a place at interview, so it's often a leap of faith. I hope it just gets better and better for you.
Congratulations Doddsy on your new job! That's fantastic news, well done you! I am rather jealous that you are on a three day week to start with, though I am more jealous of Pooky who will be a professional Old Styler soon.
Jo!!! Get out there and get looking....I know you mentioned that your line manager is more sympathetic to your position than you anticipated, but even so, there is a big old world out there just waiting for you to get back into. Don't lose your job hunt motivation, life is too short to feel unhappy or dissatisfied for any length of time.
TiredMum...not long until your jaunt to the Carribean... You've got your fantastic holiday to look forward to regardless of whatever turmoil is going on in your professional life. Another job will come along, just keep an eye and an ear open for it..
Phew, so many people going through change at w***.
Kethry - if you bought the pie weights on the understanding that they are suitable for the microwave, then surely it'd be acceptable for you to return them on the basis of them being unfit for the purpose?
I'm off now to get in the shower...maybe I'll be back later, maybe I won't....
Have a fab evening.

Good evening all, Hugs to Mirakel and others who need them, Busy day today and still not finished everything I'm meant to do, so have a lovely evening all and a good day tomorrow xx
happy birthday Nix xIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Evening everyone :hello:
Snowy so glad that your first day at new w*** went well!
Topher - your classroom sounds absolutely fab!
My day was mixed. It started off pretty badly, with me bursting into tears BEFORE the children arrived! However, it got a bit better and I've now been given a mentor from the secondary school across the road. My school can't provide me with a proper mentor, but this one seems quite good and at least it's a proper mentor that might help me. Fingers crossed! I was all for handing in my notice this morning, so that I could leave at the end of this term, but with this new mentor I'm going to finish my NQT year at Easter and reassess.
My new plan (DH is in agreement) is that I work until next Easter, saving up enough money to pay off my car - just topped up my savings account as you can see from my sig :T - and then start to save up enough cash to go travelling for a month. DH is fed up with my being a depressed/sobbing wreck, but appreciates that if I ever regain my "va-va-voom" for teaching, I need to have completed my NQT year!
We were at a wedding yesterday, down in sunny Oxfordshire. The bride and groom left the church in a tractor complete with ribbons! The groom is a farmer and it was very fitting, especially as they'd met through Young Farmers.
Anyway, I'll leave you all to it.
