Hi All
I posted earlier to say I was going to pick up a breadmaker from a lady who offered it through Freecycle. Well, what can I say, I was absolutely amazed and delighted to be presented with a Morphy Richards 48286 that the lady had only used once:j. What a fantastic suprise, it is great! I can't wait to try it out.:T

My husband is currently doing the first cooking ever. For some reason he picked up a recipe book last night, and apparently had never heard of carrot and ginger soup. I have spent 20-lots years making spiced carrot soups of all sorts, but I'm not going to complain.
I have just found out that it has required the opening of a bottle of white wine.

Well what a Sunday this has turned out to be.
Talking this am, decided to go and have a look at a car at a local garage, they had sold the one we wanted to see, but had another one, my fav colour, British Racing Green.......... took it for a test drive..........job done. Had to pay a bit more than we had thought, but its only 3 years old and under mileage for the year........new tyres and MOT, hoping to squeeze 6 months tax out of the garage too........... a years warranty..........
We collect it next monday............. now all I have to do is pay for it.
Quiet weekend on the home front, some not very welcome news yesterday, still trying to decide what to do about it, but sitting tight just now.
Beef stew for supper, with cauli, sweetcorn and brocc, HM apple and blackberry pie to follow.........I will go shopping tomorrow, we have to go and collect medication and take library books back, so will take the car and do my big shop.
All I have in the freezer apart from fruit is a packet of frozen peas, a packet of mixed veg and a ? double helping of beef stew.............so have done quite well this month.
I made a rapid bake loaf this aft, will do bacon, scrambled egg, with the last egg and tinned tommy's for brekkers tomorrow...... we had croissant this morning, no bread left!!!!!
Right off to watch the snooker.............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Afternoon all!
Welcome to the newbies - and Welcome back to RacyRed and Apple_Mint!
Penny_pincher - glad you enjoyed the wedding! Hope you didn't get too tired.
The brisket and root veg I cooked in the SC yesterday came out very tasty, though I wished I'd realise how long the gravy would take to reduce and thicken in a pan! Oh well, it's a learning curve! I had some left-over brisket in a sandwich for lunch, but I think I'll cook some more veggies tomorrow and make the rest into soup.
I made some cherry and walnut muffins yesterday too, so quite an OS day for me! I feel so pleased to have made a whole batch of muffins for about the cost of one muffin at BB's muffin and coffee shop! Now trying to pluck up courage to make a treacle tart - haven't made my own pastry for years!
It was nice to get the extra hour in bed this morning but it did mean the cats wanted their tea really early!
Spare a thought for folk working night shifts, who find themselves having to work an extra hour when the clocks go back! That happened to my DD2 a few years ago (she's a nurse)!
Hope you all have a good evening!
best wishes

Just freecycled my juicer, I just don't use it enough to justify the space it takes. Lets hope someone wants it.
Just run round with the vacumn and was amazed at how little there was to clean up, I think the new JVC floor mat I put down is really working, big test will be the next weekend my b/f visits, he is even worse than me for feeding the birds so is in and out like a yo-yo! Fortunately he got the hang of my BM pretty quickly :rotfl:
CV background work is done and I'll prettify it tonight, most agencies have their own formats so I don't need to go overboard I don't think. It's years since I last updated it so I hope the format is OK.
The early darkness has caught out a few boaters here and one hired narrowboat has just gone speeding down the canal leaving one hell of a wake behind it. My heart was in my mouth as it was heading at speed for Solomon and Serena (as I call the swans) fortunately they glided out of the way in time. Can't understand the need for speed, it's not as if the boats can get lost on a canal!
Gawd! I'm turning into a real bird bore! Back soon with more of my usual sex, booze and generally naughty posts
JIll xxxMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Evening all,
Isn't it dark!!! nice and cosy though.;)
Had a really relaxing day today, which is good, as back to school tomorrow  (shall be counting the days till the next holiday!!!)
DD sorted out her clothes and manged to fill 3 bags full, which are going to my friend's daughter.
Cooked a winter warmer, sausage casserole and mashed potatoes, then we had a fun afternoon playing board games and eating Nacho's.
Not much on the telly tonight so will have a surf, read a few mags then early to bed.
Hugs to all and hope you have a relaxing evening.0 -
It turned out such a nice day that we went to the seaside with a picnic that we packed and then ate in our car watching the waves roll in.
Had a really nice day - need to iron DDs school uniform for tomorrow - just offered to teach her how and iron it - she has scampered off very quickly and left me in peace on here for a while lol;)"This site is addictive!"

Evening all!
Ive had a fairly relaxed day so far, made a nice shepherds pie without using any packet mixes, which was a change! All jobs done, so now im having a little browse on ebay to see if anything takes my fancy. Ive just bought a couple of disney videos for cheap as im in the mood for some cartoons and will watch them next sunday. Nipped over to Lidl earlier and bought an over the sink organiser thing, im finding it really handy already but it appears to only work in one way, which is backwards to the way I wanted. Oh well, that'll teach me to buy things on a whim!
Right, off to do a bit of sewing and ironing, and I might put on some xmas music as im in the mood for it for some reason!
Have a nice evening all!
