N9eav wrote::mad: WHY ARE CHARITY SHOPS SO STUPID?
I had a look around for some decent work shirts, but they were all horrible and not only that, but overpriced!!! One shirt had the collar tips completely worn away and they wanted £3.99. What planet are they on? I wonder why they don't make the prices lower and shift the stuff out.... anyway.
Hello and Welcome to N9eav and PixySu! Great to have you aboard!
N9eav, you need to come and try the charity shops in Yorkshire. They're so good, I've set myself the challenge of buying no clothes (apart from undies, shoes, and possibly a winter coat and a party outfit) from anywhere else. This week I got 4 tops, 2 sweatshirts and 2 skirts for my children for £15, and they were all perfect.Queenie wrote:Quote:

Morning all :hello:
Clocks chaning has certainly effected me, can't work out if I am coming or going , although OH would say thats nothing new
Had a good day yesterday, went to Watford to collwct a saucepan rack from ebay and then did a bit of shopping. The primark there is so much more civialized than ours ( or not as much as a jumble sale in OH's opinion
Plan's for today include a quick trip to work to kick some ***
Free meal at a local pub which OH won via a raido contest a few weeks ago
Need to parcel up some ebay things to post on Monday
A bit of cross stitch and I want to empty 2 more kitchen cupboards, oh and urban rebound tonight ( the best / worst way to start/ finish a week )
Well :grouphug: to all, I hope you have a great day whatever you do and after things that have happened to people in my life this week, pick up the phone and call the ones you love or just grab your kids and give them an extra hug
Have fun

Morning all
Hi to PiixxySue.
Kids did well this morning - didn't get up 'til 7. Which, considering the clock change, is pretty good.
DH tried to get me a long lie, but DD was having none of it and insisted on being with mum. I'm here on the pretence of getting dressed!
Mum called last night to say she's coming down tomorrow and going back tuesday. It's good really cause she hasn't seen the kids for about 7 weeks but, I've already shopped and meal planned for the week. Usually it wouldn't be a problem cause I always make double meals where poss (to freeze the rest or use for lunch next day) but not next week.
Had planned pizza for mon - mum doesn't like pizza. So that's now planned for tonight. Chicken and mango casserole will now be on monday - trouble is it's a newbie. I don't mind having a disaster when its just us - but I'd rather get something right when mum's around (she has seen many of my disasters in her day). Also - she'll be poking her nose in and checking what's going on all the time, chucking in a bit of this and that as she feels like it. I like to follow a recipe correctly the first time through, then I wander off my own way once I have an idea of what its 'supposed' to be like. Good grief - I am getting sooo stressed about this. Calm down.
Well - she gives me an incentive to sort rest of house out. Do a 'mum' clean and not just a 'that'll do' clean.
