Hi all, and a big welcome to all the newbies!
I don't seem to have much news to post lately, and some days I haven't managed to get on the pc at all! The tablets I'm taking atm make it hard to wake up in the morning, and as neither of us is working we seem to have got into the habit of going to bed late and getting up late. And the pc has been playing up too, refusing to let me post or PM people, and freezing when I tried to use the "Thanks" button, which didn't help!
At least I'm managing a bit of OS today - brisket and veg in the SC! :j
Going out to a belated birthday lunch next Friday with both DDs and gorgeous baby DGS! He's growing rapidly and I can't cuddle him as much as I'd like to as it makes my arms ache:rolleyes: Oh well, can't be helped.
Queenie - sorry to hear about your quail! What a good idea to swap the chicken for lamb!
TM - hope the tea and HM cake help you feel better quickly!
ChaMichelle - don't know if you'll have a chance to read the posts today, but CONGRATS on your lovely baby boy:j
Have a good weekend everyone!
best wishes
ivyleaf xx
((((((Hugs)))))) to everyone who needs one - in fact go ahead and have one anyway, as Queenie said, they're FREE today!:D0 -
Cheerfullness! We had a prob with central locking in our car. It was a complete pain, so our friendly mechanic disconnected it. We now have to lock and unlock each door separately, but that's a lot better than what we had.
Penny. x
Hi Penny, I was wondering about disconnecting it, too. OH has been working on it for hours literally and has finally got one of the back doors working but the other won't release even when he managed to pull the button up. Nevermind, they can just shuffle over for now and we will just have to live with it for for time being.
Right OH made me lovely coffee so off to put my feet up.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Afternoon everyone...
Can't believe some people have been up so early. Had a lie in until 9am. Put away some clothes which were lying on the bed, made up bed. Got ready, changed 2 yr old son out of his pjs and nappy. Had breakfast, put a clothes washing on, checked Ebay to see if a buyer from yesterday had paid me. They had so packaged up their item ready for posting. Wrote out proof of posting slip.
Toot shopping list OH gave me, wrote a quick to do list because I tend to forget to do something if it's not written down, especially when I have my sone with me. Put out bag or rubbish. Put two carrier bags of bottles for recycling. Changed sons nappy again.
Drove to local shopping centre, recycled bottles, put some money into bank from OH (1/2 money for mortgage, bills etc).
Went to Woolworths got The Sun with one of my free Sun coupons.
Then too Boots, got 3 x cadbury's chocolate bars with 3 free chocolate bar vouchers from yesterdays Sun and 5 points onto my Boots card (I love collecting points - for anything!!!).
Then to post office, paid council tax and posted off Ebay item.
Then to Asda to do shopping OH gave me list for then straight back home. Son has been asleep since we got home.
Hung up the washing in boiler cupboard to dry. Did some dishes OH created (again), cleaned 2 toilets, picked up bits of wood OH had left lying outside garden in the bin and wiped the front and back doors. Had some porriage for lunch.
Not been able to do any hoovering as I don't want to wake son up but poor thing hasn't had anything to eat since this morning and will definately be needing has nappy changed.
Oh I hope he does go to sleep at a reasonable time tonight..
Now feel rather lazy as I should really be doing more with my time instead of sitting in bed suring internet and waiting for son to wake up. He's too grumpy and crys alot if I wake him up.
Hope I manage to get more done tomorrow.Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)

PP -What picture??
Had to post a picture of my gorgeous daughter this morning.
Well, I'm over run with bargains from the farm shop - 4 cauli's for £1 big fat one's too; huge bag of onions; butternut squash; Bramleys; courgettes; huge swede; carrots; garlic; local eating apples all for the grand total of: £8.24. They had an offer on "Spend £5 get FREE pumpkin" ... at the till, she asked if I wanted the pumpkin (like I'd say, no? :rotfl: )
She gave the boys a bag each, saying: "Help yourself on the way out lads, you can have one each":j :T Naturally they chose the biggest one's they could find. So, pumpkin pie is on the To Do list as well as pumpkin soup for the freezer and I shall make some pumpkin seed nibbles from the seeds :T How's that for "free"
Going back in a couple of days to get the Savoy Cabbages 4 for a £1 and to take in some of our old books - she sells them and all proceeds go to the local hospice, so I'm very happy to donate and it will be another step along the way to decluttering some old paperbacks.
Local craft shop is having a 20% off weekend so grabbed some bits and bobs from there too to keep my fingers and mind occupied (well, when I can escape the kitchen after todays shopping!)
D11yo has been offered another quail, but I've declined on his behalf; for starters we only have one cage and it wouldn't be fair to introduce a newer one and secondly, the poor kid has had enough 'losses' and major changes to endure in the past couple of years that I really don't want to put him on that emotional journey again right now. Maybe I should have thought about that before getting the quails in the first place, but, hey-ho, I'll put that down as yet another "learning curve" for Queenie

Hello again!
Queenie - was me who made the curry from leftovers:o but he's forgiven me:D - luckily I was at work and didn't eat it and the boys don't like curry.;)
Have been to lunch - just a toastie and had a good natter with my friend, also done shopping. Pizza and Xfactor for us too - am taping strictly come dancing to enjoy on my own:D
Want to have a go at butternut squash soup so need to search the recipe threads for a good one - garlic free as we dont really like it!
Shez - the diets gone ok so far this week, have bought Paul McKennas book and CD to see if it helps just havent had time to listen to it yet:rolleyes:
Probably be back later
Take care all! xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Queenie - Sorry to hear about the quail, I also laughed when I saw the frozen chicken commentSorry.

ScaredyCat - Well done on getting started, I find posting on here with my intentions for the day guilts me into getting it doneDont want to let the side down
Well done all the little footballers!!!
Well, w*** was excessively boring today, very quiet and not a lot to do. So I got organised and typed a few personal letters (being careful not to let anyone see of course!), spent my bonus (£175!!!!) on vouchers to pay off some of my Next account (im determined to get financially organised!), and purchased some contents insurance with my nice 15% staff discount. Fortunately, it did turn out to be one of the cheapest (ive already shopped around) and I know it is a very good policy (I have to sell it!). £10.80 gets me full contents insurance with £50 excess and accidental damage. Cool. I think its time to create a nice budgeting spreadsheet and get all the money in order. I thought I should do given that we have new neighbours moving in today (im sure they are very nice though, but you cant be too careful and police helicopters always make me feel a little on edge!), incidentally, I can hear them banging boxes right now. Should I go and 'check the mail' or something to have a sneaky look at them???!!!
Anyway, got home from work to find one of the guppies spinning round and round in the tank like something that had literally lost its mind. On closer inspection, there is a rather large internal blood mass exactly where its 'mind' should be. Do fish have brain haemorrages??? Its confused me so its in a hospital tank for observation while OH tries to identify the problem, the cause, and the remedy (if humanly possible).
I also came home to find the central heating left on (grrrrr  - OH - you shall be shot!), but the house was very tidy except for the few dishes that need doing. That always feels nice! Im looking around thinking 'my diary has cleaning time scheduled into it, but im not sure what exactly needs cleaning! Kitchen and bathroom floors need mopping though, and im sure I can find a load for the washer if I look hard enough. Still have LOTS of sewing to do though, plenty of jobs to apply for, and the car is in desperate need of a proper clear out. Enough to keep me out of trouble though!
Ive no idea what dinner will be as I havent done any shopping, havent done any food planning, but I know we have food and should attempt to storecupboard it this month. Im thinking cod in parsley sauce, as I know I still have a couple of boxes from when they were on offer a couple of months ago and there is plenty of potatoes that need eating.
Anyway, have a good evening all!

thanks Queenie and jw1096.. i have to say i feel somewhat better today, i've had some answers on the thread where i ranted about Powergen (over on the utilities board) and i'm going to reply to those in a min.. had a bath, put the sheets in the WM to wash, will make a new bed later. For some reason snuggling down in a clean bed when you're all sparkly squeaky clean yourself always cheers me up. Pizza for tea also helps.. its hard to feel glum in the face of pizza. And best of all, tonight is NCIS night, with CSI and L&O to follow. Can anyone tell i'm a US Detective show addict?
my to do list is slowly being crossed off so that helps too - i think yesterday it just all got too much and felt like i was pushing with all my might against an immoveable brick wall and getting nowhere.
thanks for the hugs and hugs back to anyone who needs em.. :grouphug:

Well I'm back from football - 4-0 to us!!!!:j We're through to the next round of the cup. Really enjoyed it once I got there. It was freezing on the sidelines, and I can't seem to warm up. Downing tea like there's no tomorrow, and just ordered a pizza to share with work colleague who's in this evening too.
Got some editing to do before I can leave, and the pizza's going to be an hour:eek: so will be here a while yet. Nice to know you lot are here too!!Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0
