Good Morning all
Welcome mineallmine:wave: .
I'm in process of descaling my kettle with white vinegar (never tried this before) what a good little OSr I am!
OH has just gone off to do the shopping with strict instructions not to overbuy. He is a bit of a control freak so that's why he does the shopping but I'm not complaining as I don't have to do it. However he is a bit of a demon for the BOGOFFS. Doesn't matter how many toilet rolls we have (6 x 12 packs at last count) if something is on BOGOFF we have to have it. Mind you I think seeing my scary food inventory has steadied him up a bit! Watch this space.
Last night we had Curry Queen's Lamb Dhansak, pilao rice and home made naan breads - it was gorgeous:T . Going to have pork chops with stuffing and home made apple sauce for dinner tonight with probably boulangere type potatoes.
Have a good day everyone.
Edited to say welcome Mrs Cupier.

Welcome Mineallmine and Mrs Cupier! :j :j :j
Forgot to tell everyone that whilst I was at my parents' we managed to snaffle a jar of her Victoria Plum jam, Apple and Sage jelly and Old Dowerhouse (sp) Chutney. DH has asked my mum to teach me how to make it all. DH got told by me where to stick it for the time being........ Maybe when I have more than a week off work!
Have a good day all.

Morning all:hello:
I've had quite a busy half term week. Kids have behaved themselves and OH has had part of the week off. Had a fab day last Sunday, me and OH were asked to a football match. First time I'd been to a footie match and it was fantastic. A local derby in which my team won:j :j Baggies boing boing:D We had a good day out on Wednesday at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford (very long drive from Worcester but worth it). Feeling virtuous today as we spent yesterday walking the Malverns. We did the whole length with all 3 kids and never a complaint from any of themVery cheap day out - picnic lunch, coffee and lemonade at a pub plus carpark fees for 2 cars (we parked one at each end IYSWIM).
Not much planned for today, don't have the ballet run as it's half term. Must make my shopping list and think about meals for next week.
Lunch - hummus, pittas, salady stuff
Supper - Russian fish pie (rice, fish in puff pastry envelope) I don't have a recipe for this, I'm going to make it up as I go along)
Have made my quince vodka this week. My mum has given me 2 pumpkins for halloween. I'm going to carve them and make muffins or soup with the flesh. I think I'll toast the seeds too.
I'm supposed to be making cakes for a halloween cake sale at school too. I'm not keen as the kind of cakes they want are highly decorated sugary things. I'd rather make pumpkin muffins or gingerbread, but they won't sell.
Anyway, have a good Saturday all0 -

Well got a crazy day ahead of me but at least have finally decide what cake I'm baking for the party - Nigellas choc orange, stick some sparklers in the top and that should do it ...It is an offence to let fireworks off between 11pm and 7am, except on Bonfire Night (midnight), Diwali, New Year, and Chinese New Year (1am).
Aww, thanks for your kind words.
Actually (from experience) I know how 'delicate' these situations can be. When my eldest 3 were somewhere around a similar age to my youngest 2, my middle ds was gifted 2 white mice for his b/day (it's what he wanted).*TM - don't look!!*
Sadly, the next day, when shaking out the sleeping area bit to show them off to friends -2nd one was reluctant to come out .... hardly surprising, only half of him remained!!
Now, unfortuately, I'd made a rabbit casserole for supper and we all sat around the table, overlooking the garden, and I dished up this scrummy meal ... the moment I said it was rabbit, the proverbial hit (!) ... you see, just outside the window, in the garden, were my dd's pets ... 2 white rabbitsThe connection of white fluffy pets/mourning and dished up dinner simply proved too much at that time for them
:rotfl: (Woohoo, seconds for me! :j  ). Hindsight is a wonderful thing
