Where is KiwiChick these days? And what colour is her hair...????

I'm still here Snowy, and my hairs a very dark brown/purple colour - not entirely nice TBH.

I try to read each day to keep up but dont always manage it. I just dont feel up to posting most days. I'm having a really s***e time, feeling very depressed, TBH I'm scared I'm heading for a breakdown. Will go to see my doc on Monday, been putting it off for too long but if I dont go now I dont know how I'll cope.

Hi Kiwichick...we missed you! Glad you came and say hello. You are due a big hug.
    (((((Kiwichick)))))

I knew you sometimes felt a bit down - but as it's overwhelming at the minute I'm very glad to hear you're off to the doc's on Monday. I think there are a fair few of us in Old Style who have been, or currently are, in a similar position - you're amongst understanding and caring friends here. Look after yourself - going to your GP is a very positive step towards feeling better again.

BTW regards your hair...dark brown/purple sounds v.sophisticated to me!
  • Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 29 October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning all! Just need to pop out to collect the sticky!

Back now. Good day yesterday - spent nothing! Went on a meal/thatre trip with DH's work, with a taxi back. At the meal sat with a very amusing man, and we discussed what makes us mad  Got a scanner that I received from Freecycle working, so that's fab! DD is at Guide camp until later today, DS is sleeeping at a frined's and DH has gone out to see if he can catch a duck (or two :D ).

These clock changes really confuse my body clock, and I hate the dark evenings. I'd far rather have Continental Europe time.

Intending to have some "me time" today - get out my knitting again. Think I might try a "fluffy scarf" that everyone's talking about.

    Have a great Sunday!

Morning Pen Pen and all who follow :)

The clock change has got me all confuddled as to timings, dd and I are up, ds and oh are still asleep.

We had a manic day yesterday and in the evening took the children and a friend to a halloween party, didn't, get back until late but had a good and spooky time.

Today I have lots of bits and pieces to do, packing up ebay parcels, ironing, ds's homework. The children will be talking to their Grandparents in N.Z soon, I guess an hour earlier on Skype, will probably make them put on last night's Halloween costumes to show them!

Doing roast beef for lunch, it should be nice, I have a huge joint that I shall hopefully turn the remainder of into chilli later on in the afternoon..

Have a good day everyone :)

Morning gingin, Penelope and everyone to follow

I can't go blaming the hour change for the disruption to my body clock...my old body clock does whatever it feels like these days. I will try and have a bit more of a snooze before getting up for the day. Today is the last day of my extended break from w*** - I return to the world of gainful employment tomorrow. I'm sort of looking forward to it, though if I had an opportunity of supporting myself without going to w*** I would grab it with both hands.

Yesterday I got my car exhaust fixed. Far from it being the full exhaust replacement at £170 I was initially quoted, the bloke I spoke to yesterday replaced just a small piece of it and charged me £60. I don't know whether to laugh or cry really - they were obviously spinning a sly one with the initial quote and I fell for it hook, line and sinker. I wonder if I was still ripped off for what they did do. Probably... I won't be going back there again that's for sure. With the £110 I "saved" I renewed my road tax for the year.

Plans for today include doing a bit of washing, then go and visit relatives, and maybe squeeze in a bit of shopping. I've got to give my bathroom and kitchen a good clean too. So not the most exciting of Sundays ever.

Hope you all have a great day.

'Morning everyone. I have more time than I thought today! Just reading through the threads and remembered the clocks have gone back. So it's not just after 7am but actually just after 6am. I'm going to get myself a cup of tea and settle down for an extra hour of browsing MSE :D

Yesterday was a good OS day, we started off the grape wine (grapes were free and stored in the freezer) and I made a ginger cake and some Irish soda bread. The soda bread is cut into 8 chunks and is now frozen for use in the week (our regular lunch is HM soup with irish soda bread). Today I'm planning a bit of pottering in town, taking in any charity shops that are open and the local pound shop. :D
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

:hello: Goooooooood Morning Pen Pen, gingin, Snowy and all fellow OS'ers :):) OOoh, hiya apple_mint, lovely to see you again :)

Just been checking which clocks have automatically adjusted themselves ... er .. none! Tell a fib, the computer has.

Putting the SC on today as well as the oven. Meal for us can cook in the oven, but wanted to rustle up something for my friends for tomorrow. They've been away and I plan on having a hot meal waiting for them when they return. The SC seems the best route to go.

D12yo's footie match today - he scored justing training/practice yesterday, so with his growing confidence, hoping it bodes well for later

It'll be crafting after dinner. I don't feel particularly inspired to do an awful lot after standing in a field then doing the dinner straight after.
... At the meal sat with a very amusing man, and we discussed what makes us mad  ...
That must have been a very short conversation then! :rotfl:

((hugs)) and have a good day

    good morning everyone!
i hope there is room for one more?

i don't like the time going backwards and forwards - well, none tries actually to explain it to my kids so they don't care  - we were up at [dumdududuuuuum {drumroll}] 5am  (6is their normal time so they are up and hungry and wanting) - even daddy got up :D

not sure yet what we are having for dinner. i used to be rather good with mealplanning (since starting a diet a few months ago) - but then we went on hols and i forgot everything about it .. and the sweets were creeping back in too :o

so! i will sit down today and do a mealplanner again - and a shopping list - and ... well, that's enough for now ;)

besides that no plans for us. but we deffinitly need to take the kids out - just too active to keep them indoors for too long :D
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work ;)

Hi. Well I did get roped into going to Penzance yesterday, so I got no jobs done at all appart from tidy up the chicken run. I could not cut the grass anyway as it was raining and horrible.

 WHY ARE CHARITY SHOPS SO STUPID?

I had a look around for some decent work shirts, but they were all horrible and not only that, but overpriced!!! One shirt had the collar tips completely worn away and they wanted £3.99. What planet are they on? I wonder why they don't make the prices lower and shift the stuff out.... anyway.

Today is another day. Looks a bit damp again. Seeing as we had the extra hour, I thought of making bread do-nuts for breakfast, but....... no yeast. So that's out. There will be some disapointment no doubt.

I hate this clock thing. I always wake up early as it is, but now I will be up before the larks and posting messages at 5am.

Anyway off to church shortly and then roast chicken for dinner. Should be a great day.
