*flops down with a brew and a fag*

    I am having a 10 minute break - I deserve it :D

    So far done today
    - 1 coat paint in kitchen - whch should now be dry and ready for second coat
    - dusted, hoovered my bedroom - including turning mattress and hoovering that AND I sorted my wardrobes out - looks loverly
    - 2 loads washing, one drying now
    - cleaned upstairs bathroom and mopped floor - microfibre cloths rule! I spent 10 mins shining my chrome towel rail and it is gleaming! Bathroom took ages though because I was doing my Visitor clean as opposed to my normal clean :D

However I haven't cleaned me yet! I just stuck my boiler suit on and got on with everything - I reckon there's no point dirtying up clothes and me when I am working so hard *twinkling like a lil angel :D* Looking forward to my shower when everything is done - and praying I don't get any unexpected visitors

*waving* Hi to Crazy chick and Paulie's Girl

Right, fag is smoked and I am gone! *whooshes out again* who knew cleaning could make you feel so good? :D

    Hello Everyone

Apparently it's now acceptable for me to work 3 weeks without a day off, as well as working in the evenings. May I point out, they only want to pay me for the 45 hours a week (worked over 6 days) that I'm contracted to. I'm exhausted and I've only been back since Monday, but I've worked three evenings this week. Done well above the 45 hours already.

    Don't know what to do.

Thinking of asking for a day off in leui, but don't know whether they'll just have a go at me.

Hope everyone's doing better than me

Hello and welcome to Paulie's Girl and Crazychik. :hello: And hugs to those poorly people and to scuzz :grouphug:

only 20 more minutes work before i am off for the weekend. Me and the BF are off to his mum's in Gloucestershire. Will also see his DS, BIL and the kids. And the village fireworks. it should be good fun, though his mum and sis seem desperate for me to have a baby so i am bracing myself for another grilling. BF, his DS and DB have 4 kids between them, so it can't be because they long to be a granny or an aunty. Oh well.

have a lovely weekend everyone xxx
  • Afternoon Guys!

Got back from sisters yesterday and not feeling great today:o ...OH & DD have gone off to the Zoo and Im at home resting as we are supposed to be going to a wedding tomorrow. OH made a picnic for them all (OH, DD & DD's friend) of cheese/salad sarnies, cakes, flask, water, crisps and fruit.

Cleaner (SIL) has let me down again so have called round a few cleaning companies as really need reliability and consistency, they are sending some info out to me, so will see when they arrive.

3 washloads have been done this morning and have used the TD once today....sorry:D bought loads of storage boxes for DD so will try and sort that Sunday. DW needs emptying but toilet has been cleaned and I have managed to polish the lounge and clean the bathroom-took me a while, but feel good knowing that Ive done something, but will suffer later:rolleyes: OH mopped the floors quickly before he left, still a few things to do like the bedding being changed etc but that can wait till tomorow.

WM is playing up so have called the repair centre as still under warranty and they are coming out on Sunday afternoon. Covered till April 2007 so wont cost anything and will be mended before cover runs out. Cant believe we've had it nearly 5 years...2 years ago I would have just gone and bought a new one.

Lovely to see Michelle back and hello Charlie...thats DD's name we ll Charlotte, but shes such a tomboy that its always been Charlie or Charlie bear:rotfl:

    Welcome newbies!

Should know this afternoon the outcome of my DLA reconsideration, so fingers x'd people.

    Hugs to all.

morning guys (didn't get up till noon so its morning according to my bodyclock)..

Spent yesterday getting absolutely exhausted trying to do everything i had to do on a very small budget.. eventually managed it but had to cut the amount that i pay to Powergen by half (its a long story but i pay too much to them anyway.. the full story is here if anyone is interested, over on the Utilities board). I've contacted the finance officer that is helping us with this dispute about it this morning, hopefully its a cut we can continue to keep cos .... i just don't know how else to make ends meet.

today's plan: go to aldi to pick up various bits n bobs that i know i can get cheaper there, make some bread (which will also warm up the house tonight) for dinner - beans on toast, yum! i've also got some stuff to sell on ebay which i really need to photograph and weigh and get descriptions for, so that i can put the money from those towards christmas. After that i've got some non slip stuff to sew to the underside of a rug, so that i can put the rug down to help with the cold factor some - we still haven't put our heating on and i am resisting as long as possible on that one. got lots of other things to make too so its a question of bashing on as long as i can... got a xmascake to make too some time, i suppose.

right.. time to get on with it!! - have a good day everyone!

scuzz ask for time off in lieu you are entitled to something for your hard work but remember that there is more to life than just working all the time i know on yesterdays thread there was a couple of people who had given up work and took jobs with less stress and hours is this an option?
penny pincher hope everything goes alright with your DLA review and you get what you are entitled to it is meant to help people who are unwell not cause them more stress.!

Well that's it. I'm home. No more work and now lots of waiting for baby to turn up. And before anyone says 'congratulations'....right now I feel like the rug, the floor and everything else has been ripped from under my feet. I'm just scared over how I'm going to cope at home as all I can ever remember is working or studying in some way.

Suppose this is my chance to get into Old Style in a major way.

It'll probably just take me a while to get use to things....at least that all I hope it is.

Hi Tired Mum - my opinion to working less hours for less stress, is go for it, if you can afford to take a drop in wages then do so. I'd rather be skint and be happy. I finished work yesterday after being stressed out and depressed for 3 1/2 yrs. It was very good money. But on Monday, I start a new job, same hours slightly less pay. Only time will tell if I settle into the new job, but some changes had to be made in life, and the job was the main one. Life is too short.....
