    Morning all

Have had a busy half term with husband (now jobless... he says he is just running a business that doesn't have an income at the moment.. you can tell he is self employed!) anyway both he and 2 kids off so he has done childcare while I have worked.
We had a great 'challenge day' when we all picked 2 different games to see if others could beat us (it was pouring with rain). Played board games, pc games, x box game, charades, rummikub, shut the box etc etc and the kids got really into it making medals etc for 1st, 2nd etc. There was one moment of tears after cheating but overall it was a great sucess and it cost nothing!! Thought I would let you OS guys know as we enjoyed playing all these games together and I lost every single one!!!
OH has been using the BM and has cooked dinner several times, he is tonight which is good as I am working (cold risotto for lunch yummy!) this is the busiest day of the week at my clinic and I am alwys exhausted come Fri night but it is the weekend!

Sorry have waffled it's all my posts for the week in one!

Off to empty DW and tumble drier xxx

Yesterday turned into a disaster, the garage had a look at the car said the problem wasnt covered in the warrenty and told us it would cost £700 to fix. No thank-you took it to our local garage who said it would be £150 its a none urgent problem so I'll leave it until I've saved up the cash.

Have you rang the car manufacturer to check, sometimes garages apply their rules a little too freely. There's bound to be a customer services number on the manufacturers web site- and I'd certainly want to talk to them about something that could cost £700 to repair during the warranty period. Good Luck.

    Good morning everyone.

I'm hardly 'raring to go' this morning. But I do feel better than the last couple of days so it's time to get back to a subdued version of normality. Light housework, get something going in the slow cooker and play with my son. That should be enough to keep us going and give me time to sit down and rest.

I dreamed about Queenie's couscous, cheese and onion pie so I suppose I'll be making that for lunch. LOL

Have a good day everyone and take care of yourselves. x

  • Good Morning everyone,
hopefully most of the poorly people are feeling better today.

hello Paulies girl and welcome (any other watchers of the thread - come on and join us - take it from me, they're all very friendly and welcoming)

Congrats to Michelle, big hugs to little Charlie xx

I was looking forward to my last lay in, this morning, before I get back to the
thing we call w*** on Monday. (Oops, I forgot - I am supposed to go in this afternoon to sort out - Yikes!!).Yeah, I know there is a weekend before that - but I can never lay in then!! but my little horrors and their cousin had a sleepover - why are they called that when they don't actually sleep!!! So I am a little tired today (understatement!)

We will have a takeaway tonight for a treat (slow cooker is feeling deserted!) and I will run around finishing my now cleaner, tidier house but I will have to leave it and go in this afternoon - I have so enjoyed my holiday.

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday. See you tomorrow, if not before!!
If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.
  • Morning everyone

Had quite a productive day yesterday even though everything is being done at a much slower pace than normal as I have no energy still. Did the weeks shopping in Morrisons - went over budget  by £22.00 but bought a couple of extra bits and pieces so I'll only need a bread and milk shop next week.

Made 2 cheese & potato pies for the freezer with some reduced cheese, made chicken kebabs for dinner and even managed to push the vac around. The ironing didn't get done so will be doing that today. The CH and hot water are playing up so it's hit and miss whether we get any at the moment - why does it always happen in the Winter

Seem to have lost a little bit of my muffin top through being ill, although would not recommend it as a form of diet :rotfl:

B - Cheerios (again - seem addicted at the mo!)
    L - Cheese & Rocket Roll
    D - Not sure

Have a great day everyone xx
Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!

Hi there everyone, a dull old day here in Shropshire.

Don't know what to do today, after the excitement and euphoria of yesterday I feel a bit like a spare part this morning:o

I must get some cooking done, and pick the rest of the apples off the tree. I have already put wm on and tidied kitchen. Also need to go 'up village' for some bits and pieces.

And would you believe, my Dyson isn't working, no suction at all, I've checked the pipes and nothing's stuck up there:mad: I hate Dysons - never again. Of course it would go just as I quit paid employment! That's another thing to do today - look for a job

Hope you all have as good a day as poss.

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Not much to report, a quiet week for me, washing finished, ironing to do this afternoon, going out this morning....

Man from the waterboard came yesterday we now await the repair man, will be getting the work done free, looks like they will replace the pipe from the meter right to the house, apparnely its rubber, sounds like its perished......replacing it with alkathene.... we then have to send in 3 monthly readings, I told the chap we were going away for 3 months!!!!! they we will get an adjusted bill. Cue OH saying right we use rainwater to flush the loo..... god knows we have enough of it in barrels............coninue with the showers as we do now, twice a week with a strip wash in between..... and watch the washing!!!!! Think he is hoping we will get a zero bill LOL.....

Bright morning, but cccccccccccoooooooooooooollllllllllllllllddddddddddd.....I must be turning into my grandmother, I have bought thermal vests, must admit to feeling nice and cosy in them........aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww...
