Morning all
Bright but chilly here this morning, but I'm still sat here in my dressing gown after a late night.
Kitchen looks like a particularly messy bomb has gone off in it - infact it was just the cat's abcess but it made a nasty mess.........have done a superfical clean up - will get stuck in after a cuppa get it deep cleaned. Going to attack the bathroom with the steam cleaner today as well, the ceiling needs a coat of paint so might even venture out to the shed to see what we've got.
DD's have asked for a pj day, we've compromised on a "yes you can stay in your pj's but strip your beds first and remake them later"....DD1 has already got hers stripped and in the WM (she even put it going - pity she didn't wait for the rest of it from DD2 but hey - it's a start).
DH will be home tonight so will do some marinated chicken breasts to stick in the fridge - will pop them on the george grill when he gets in, he never likes a heavy meal after a long drive. Will make some coleslaw and a tomato and onion salad to go with it
New windows are going in the extension this afternoon - the man came to deliver them yesterday - phwwwooooarrrrrThere's not many men that reduce me to a complete jibbering wreck but I was about as coherant as a bag full of snakes when he knocked on the door.....I shall have to pull myself together for when he arrives.....or just stand there drooling like a loon....Even DD1 said - corr he's a bit hunky!
Anyway - I shall go work my magic with the stardrops and be the domestic godess that I know I can be if I try.

Good morning everyone!
I missed yesterdays daily thread altogether, don't know why. I did get a lot done though!!!! We had DSs piano lesson in the morning, visited my Grandma, then got back - got DS started on his IGCSE work & I tackled the kitchen, decided the fridge freezer needed defrosting & also that it needed moving out from its slot between the wall & the cabinets & vacuuming behind. You wouldn't believe what was down there... well, maybe you would!
Today, washing & drying done; washing up done - just needs putting away; bathroom cleaned & DS got out of bed - but not as yet getting on with work.
It's a lovely day by the looks of things, but I have got to stay indoors & get DS doing his work. So now it's time for me to go off and do my dragon impressions.....
have a good day!0 -

Am going to limit my surfing today so that I get something done round the house, this site is far too addictive
Breakie: Toast
Lunch: Dunno, maybe a sandwich
Dinner: Salmon fillet with roast veggies

Good Morning everyone.
Welcome to PaulysGirl.
Well, I was in deep shock yesterday when I did the cupboards, fridge and freezer inventory. I put it all down on a spreadsheet and it ran to 4 pages!:o Soooo......... today is menu planning for rest of this month and all of next! No excuse as my back is playing up today so no housework on the agenda.
Dinner tonight will be Lamb Dhansak from the freezer (courtesy of CurryQeen's fab recipe and I'm going to make her recipe for naan bread too, can't wait.:j
Hope everyone has a lovely Friday and all the poorly people are feeling better.

Morning all - Im new to the daily thread, Like Paulie's Girl, Ive been reading it for a couple of months now. And I agree, you all seem to be super mums/people. With a wide variety of interests.
Its nice where we can meet/greet people and overall have friendly attitude towards eachother. And offer super friendly encouragement, support and advise. Keep it going !!!!!
How have people been surving this week during half term. ?
So far so good with my DS and DD. Went to Colchester Mon-Weds, stay with a friend Ive not seen for 11yrs. That broke the week up for us. But roll on Tuesday when they go back to school.
I was off work for just over 3months with a bad back, looking for another job in the meantime. I handed my notice in and my last day was yesterday, after surving 3 and a half years of nastiness. And start my new job on Monday. Same with my OH, we used to work together, he left just over 8 weeks ago, started a new job, straight away but the hours didnt suit our home life, so he left and he too starts new job on Monday. So a pat on the back for us both. Will seem strange working and not seeing him there.
Busy ironing today and changing beds. Clean bathroom and downstairs loo, Hoover and sweep hall/kitchen then mop. Then will chill. Put my "winter curtains" up last weekend and cleaned the windows.
Myself and OH are going to London for the weekend, family 21st birthday party. Will go on the coach, so we can have few drinksChildren will be with their dad for the wk/end. so even better - lol.
BTW - I made the recipe of Suet Cheese which was posted a while back, recipe from Gary Rhodes. Kids loved it. So anyone thinking of doing it, try it. It was cheap to make and very filling. Will try it next time with bacon and mushroom.
Anyway - nice to finally have the courage to introduce myself to you all.
Have a nice day, and big cuddles and hello's to all that follow.

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Been a bit chaotic the last few days - so no time to post. Popped into work today though so got 5 minutes to myself! The great half term clear out has continued and only got 2 more things to go, then its loading up the stuff into the boot for the charity shop! Not being v os tonight - having a takeaway with friends (still guess we need a treat!) Hugs to everyone who needs one or wants one!!!!!0 -
Hi everyone,
Not had time to catch up or post this week - I've started a work related distance learning course and have to spend time on that.
Have been very good all week, I'd lost a pound on Monday night but since then I've lost another couple, hope it stays off for when I'm weighed on Monday. So far this week all the meals have been home made but Friday used to be takeaway night so instead I've got a couple of nutritionally balanced meals from M & S for us. I will miss the chips or chinese though:o
No money left until Wednesday but I might go Christmas shopping this weekend as that's from saved money rather than day to day expenditure. I'm starting to feel a bit panicky because I've got so little. Luckily I don't need to think about food because we always visit relatives for Christmas.

Hi again, I won't be able to stay on the computer for long as I have "One of mi' 'eads" (a headache that's been plaguing me for about three days now, I usually feel sick by the afternoon.... seems to be something to do with my eyes.
Went for an Asda shop this morning and took about 5 minutes in the car park before I realised that if it was that full, I was going to feel crowded when I got into the store, so I abandoned it.
Went to Focus where all their outdoor plants had 50% off and fruit bushes (seemed in reasonable order) were only 49p. Sister just took over her new allotment so I'll let her know.
Done another school session, and should go back this afternoon to accompany DH who is still building stuff. Think the head might take over however...
Next: WM.
B.M.
Clean out Class gerbil (taking its chances with our cat at my house.)
so.... toodleooo
