I know how you feel, I feel the same way about 16th August, my little boy was born asleep that day in 1998 and the summer is always rough.

Have been and w**ked today, first time in about 2 years so feeling quite proud of myself. Drove 120 miles to inspect a kitchen and do a Health and Safety Audit. My DH company so probably no reward, I did it because he had double booked himself.

Tired out now. See you all tomorrow.

    ((hugs)) to Peem.

Waves to Jockettuk hope the weather in Glasgow is drier than that in Shropshire!

Well, I'm feeling a lot better today :) My glands are still swollen but the aches and fever have gone :j .

OS wise - hmm, well my plans for doing some baking with DD this morning came to no avail when I received a text from my mate inviting me to the Wacky warehouse .... and as DD hasn't been in over 6mths, I thought it would be a pretty jolly thing to do. Stupidly I told her we'd walk (ie, her in pushchair and me walk) ... stupidly ... because I hadn't looked out the window at that point! To say I looked like a drowned rat was an understatement, she, however was toasty under her raincover, LOL. I did call on DH to pick us up as it was torrential by the time we were ready to go home. There's only so much fun a girl can take!!

This afternoon was meant to be work, but my meeting got cancelled, and as DD was in nursery I took the opportunity to take the afternoon off for myself, I finally started to brave cutting out some quilt pieces. This is all very new to me, so I'm scared!! I tend to over-analyse something before doing it, so I've been procrastinating for yonks! This was all going AOK, until I received a 'phonecall to say my mate had had her baby .... a tad early .... like she wasn't due until Jan 7th !! Baby doing as well as can be expected, born 2lb 11oz, breathing on his own. Fingers and toes crossed.

    B - cereal
L - cornish pasty from bakers
D - sausages, baked spuds and port gravy, HM apple and blackberry crumble (x2, cos I burnt the 1st one whilst my brain was in shock over my news! trying Queenie's burnt dish in oven technique!)

Right, onwards and upwards ... more pieces to cut and then I have to be really brave and plug my sewing machine in, LOL .....

    :hello: Gooooooood Morning :):):)
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 27/10/06 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Up early this morning - have a dentist and a nurse appointment this afternoon.

Going to have an Admin morning then it's out an about p.m. Boys are excited because The Sims Pets is out on DS today and they've been saving their money for just this occasion  So a quick sprint to Game is also on the cards.

Need to put in an online order for some fleece today so I can make up some tied blankets for gifting.

Slow cooker meal tonight so if I don't feel up to eating much, at least there will be something hot and ready for everyone else.

Have a fun Friday everyone. ((hugs)) for those who need/want them.
    :)

Morning Queenie and all that follow.

Yesterday I was stardropping all round the house. I have fell in that love with that stuff :D

Also went to the Boots Christmas shopping evening. All I can say to that is - never again. It was so incredibly busy and full of what I call "ditherers". I did manage to get £64 of stuff for £36 so can't grumble too much.

Today we are off on our Sun £9.50 a person holiday. The caravan site is not too far (an hour at most) but it's a change of scenery.

We are not off until about 3.30 so before then I have to:
    - go to the doctors
    - get the weekly food shopping
    - collect a ring I had put into the jewellers for repair
    - go the hotel where my work Crimbo party is and pay deposits
    - pop to the post office to return a parcel
    - collect a book from the library
    - visit my sister to collect something she has for me
    - get packed

Off for a browse and check the bank a/c as it's bills day.

Have a great weekend folks :D

:D Good Morning Q. & Skst. and all that follow. Wow, you two sound busy and motivated.
D.H. & I have spent several days in school preparing the classroom for the Earth Sun & Moon topic. I just hope I'm not too burnt out by next week to enjoy teaching it. I've done about 18 hours worth of planning so I hope it works out well for the children in my class. I had to chuckle when I bumped into one of the buiders at the school yesterday, he was leaning on the wall while he filled a bucket of water, puffing & blowing and complaining about how hard his job was, saying it was alright for you teachers with all your holidays. I wonder what he thought I was doing?

Anyway, we were supposed to be taking today off, but my eye has just fallen on all my marking.

I have been inspired by all of you on here, and have hit the stardrops big style. I also did a food shop in Asda, and like someone else oon yesterday's thread, found loads of good quality & organic products "Whoopsed" so I got a £9.85 joint of silverside of Organic Beef for £3.?? and some lovely fish & prawns which I did in about 15 mins, poached in milk, thickened, topped with grated cheese mixed with breadcrumbs, and grilled. Organic - whoopsed spinach to accompany, and some instant mash, U.S.A./Costco style. It was really tasty.

    Must plan tonight's meal.
Bed stripping & about three washloads to run during today, some essential vaccing, and a B.M. run. I also printed off Queenie's Everyday biscuit recipe & fancy trying that, although my sweet tooth is paying more than a monthly visit these days.
Has anyone tried Thorntons Caramel squares £1.69 and so rich they're lasting even me days & days? Thought I'd add some to Sister's Christmas hamper as well as Asda's caramel wafers that someone mentioned on here just after I'd put some back on the shelf when I last shopped.

Any way, I'll be off to do the dog morning ritual. (Not a reference to my beauty routine but Caley needing a wee & some food.)

Love to all, hope good night's sleeps were had last night.

Need to prep the veg for the stew tonight and get it all in the SC before I go to work.
Will put the WM on when I get home and hopefully have the energy for the ironing.

    Morning!

Well, for all my employers faults, my line manager is really good it turns out. Had a chat with him yesterday and he can see that im not happy and is changing my role to make it a bit more fun which is nice and has offered help elsewhere too. Im still going to be leaving though, I just think its the whole culture there that I just dont get on with and I need a serious change to find the whole work concept bearable again.

I spent some of last night looking for new jobs and my brand spanking new iron arrived (i bought a new board recently too) so I did some ironing and it was much easier than what ive been used to! I even enjoyed it! My wardrobe looks very nice, all orderly and ironed!

Have to work today unfortunately, at least its Friday though! I always get an end of week feeling on a Friday and which is kind of reassuring, and it means this awful week is almost over. I think ill do some more organising when i get home as ive given myself all my time off dedicated to getting the flat organised to my liking before I start a new job, as I intend to go for one that involves no weekend working so I can go to a new job with no stress and have weekends to myself!

Anyway, best get on - hope you all have a lovely day!
