Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 14th October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Well i'm just back online after a week disconnected (ISP messed us around, but they did give us a refund of half our monthly payment, which was good!) and its taken me a couple of days to catch up!!!
been busy while i was offline though - not having the puter meant i got stuff done - one of the xmas cakes, mincemeat, a whole quilt (with a lot of swearing at the sewing machine), tidying up and housework!!
I'm doing this before i go to bed cos otherwise by the time i get up it'll be too late... tomorrow's intentions are to ~ pay the bills ~ go get some new needles for the sewing machine (and maybe some other stuff) ~ get some dog food ~ sort out some photos to get printed for calendars ~ take some photos of stuff to put on ebay to sell and sort out descriptions ~ usual make dinner/do washingup and stagger off to bed all wiped out.
anyway.. now i'm back i'm looking forward to contributing to the boards once more!
Have a good day everyone!

Goodmorning Kethry & to all those that follow
I have just got out the kitchen. Made a few salads for tomorrow's lunch. Cooked a piece of corn meat as well. DGS was a cranky pants this morning but little lamb fell asleep in his high chair at lunch. He's due to wake shortly so thought I'd come on here first.
Will post another pic tonight of inside decor  when I have more time.
Bgn Rzl Photo was lovely. I can see the family resemblance in your cousin & you. If he is adopted, don't tell me.
Well off to have a quick surf & then once DGS wakes we will go up to the house to do some w**K.The pay is woeful.
Have a great day e'one. Byeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
This is early for me! However, have slept well since going to bed early and will doubtless drop off for another couple of hourse shortly!
Excitement was mounting yesterday - both here and at DSs... 2x GDs are coming to stay for a few days over half term. We love it; GDs love it; DS and DDIL also love it. Everybody is happy.
Need to plan what we'll do... hopefully if the weather is good to us then much of the time will be spent outside. The girls (8 & 5) are starting to enjoy walking (nothing too strenuous) so we'll certainly do some of that. We'll also "potter" in the garden and they can help us plant some bulbs etc etc.
However, the fun really starts when we're indoors... hopefully we can limit the TV to just a couple of hours a day (one can only stand so much Scooby Doo). Eldest GD is a demon at Monopoly! I need to find something I can beat her at... I think we'll try Cluedo! or Careers this time around. Also, doubtless, there will be the request of "Pa! Can we please see your trains" (they're nearly as sad as me)
Got a bargain in HMV yesterday... 3x "Hello Children Everywhere" CDs for £6.99... that'll keep them amused... there's a good few songs they won't have heard yet. Trouble with hearing many of them is that it takes OH and I back fifty years!
We've also an additional dog on board at the moment... DD has gone to Dublin with a friend for an overnight stay so we have her Jack Russell to content with in addition to our own 4! Ah well... good job we are animal loversWe need to be.. yesterday morning he was moithering the cats at 0630!
OH made her Christmas Cake yesterday... wow it smelt GOOD! If it's anything like previous years we'll be drunk on one piece - at least I hope that's where the brandy has gone
Ah well... off to surf a bit and then I'll get my head down again.
Have a good day all...0 -

Morning Guys!
A bad night here too:rolleyes:
Mrs_Mix-I have just swapped some of my pain killers to a new stronger morphine based one and it has been giving me grief and looks like I may have to try something else. Its such a pain finding the right pain meds and can also take ages to do so-so far its been about 15 months:eek:    ...do get them looked at though.
Off to my sisters today and staying overnight. She called to say last night that she is making 2 huge meat and potatoe pies for dinner...they are lovely and is hubbys favourite:D ...she has also made 2 Victoria Sponge cakes (1 chc+1 normal), 2 traybakes and some mince pies;) .....do we eat that much:rotfl:
4 washloads completed yesterday and ironing taken to SIL's. OH & DD went to Waitrose and did a great shop and after spending the vouchers only cost us £10...something and used £19 of coupons:T
Washload has just finished and will be hung on the airer when OH gets out of bed. DW has been emptied and toielt cleaned, so we are all fit to go.
If I dont log in down there, have a good day....hugs to all.
