Well back from the doctors and shopping, and now have anti biotics as i have a chest infection!!! Hate going to the doctors with a cough, only for them to say there is nothing they can do, so its 'nice' to know i havnt wasted anyones time. We got home, made the little ones dinner, and i noticed a big lump on my hand!!! No idea where it has come from, its bruised so i think its just my ITP, dont want to go back to the doctors as they will only do blood tests, and if my level has dropped too low (which can happen when im poorly) i know they will start pushing for removing my spleen again
Anyway, will see what its like tomorrow, it doesnt hurt and im sure its getting smaller, so nothing to worry about.
Went to Mr Ts and found some reduced toys (half price, then half price again) so picked up some pressies for people i know, and a few stocking fillers for DD, so not bad. Of course, ive done nothing at home, and now im telling myself that with a chest infection, (and dodgy hand) im allowed to sit and play on the computer whilst little one sleeps, rather than do any work!!! It will still be here later:rolleyes:
Right, off to put the kettle on (and maybe a biscuit!!!;) )
(((HUGS))) to all who needs one,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Hi everyone,
Hugs to those suffering from pet accidents - our very old cocker spaniel eventually became so confused she didn't know where she was, I had to have the carpet replaced when she died.
Did lots of ironing over the weekend with my new steam generator iron, had wanted one for ages but didn't want to pay the prices that were asked for them, finally saw a tefal one reduced to £50 on the robert dyas site. I'm very impressed with it.
DH is now stressing about our budget (he's only just discovered moneysaving after I've been banging on about it for years) this month, but as I pointed out we have had a lot of extra expenditure with BIL dying. It makes a change for him to tell me I can only spend another £50 till the end of the month. He also told me that the kettle should only be filed with the amount of water you need, something I've been telling him for months.
HM lentil soup for dinner tonight and then I've got weight watchers again. I know I've lost weight but I don't know how much.0 -

:T Thanks GR that was GR8! :T :T
Aww, catznine, how wonderful!!!! :T It's the little considerations like that which come out of the blue which puts life into perspective ((hope you feel better soon)).
catowen - thank goodness you've got the chest infection diagnosed and now treated.
Lucie - that was a stroke of luck with the car!! Far better to walk then be blown upHope your car is returned fully fit and all back together again as it ought to be
There were huge tail backs yesterday afternoon on a particularly stretch of road we use ... found out it was due to a serious car accident where a woman in her 20's was killed; also in the car were her family which included a young child and the baby of only months old. Now, sadly, motherless; I'd walk any day then face either of those scenario's.
On a positive note ... d11yo and I have just made some more Brazilian doughnuts, only this time d12yo suggested adding sultana's - *do not attempt this at home* - adding sultana's makes them even more .. er ... more-ishNext batch I'm going to attempt I will try adding some prawns, should come out a bit like sweet n sour prawn balls (at least, I'm hoping) and I have some sweet chilli dipping sauce which I think would be perfect. At this rate, I'm going to have to go on a seriously, serious, major diet!!! But hey, better than the dreaded weed

Hi everyone!
Joannasmum- don't do yourself down. If your child/ren are happy and healthy then you're doing fine. I was once told that you need to be a good enough mother not perfect and it's so true. Often I find I have to follow my own instinct and plough my own furrow. I think I've done OK so far although no doubt my son will vehemently contest this once he's an adolescent. I once read a quote which said something along the lines of before I was married I had three theories about raising children. Now I am married with 3 children and I have no theories!
Had a very busy whizzy OS weekend. Lots of knitting done [good excuse to sit on my ample backside yesterday whilst watching the gymnastics!!] Made a very successful beef in red wine casserole in the SC and got lots of decluttering done. I also deep cleaned the bathroom and then needed to embark on a bunrun to Tesco to recover [small person also managed to get loads more Halloween goodies with pocket money for pennies] Last night son and I planned our Halloween tea for Friday when I'm off. It'll all be homemade using recipes pinched off here!!
Well the weather here yesterday was absolutely filthy so we had an arty farty afternoon instead of going chesnutting. Small person drew a really cute fairy on the pc that we've framed in a 40p frame I got in the charity shop. It's for my 5yo niece's birthday. I meanwhile hung some more of my lovely beaded bags from my hideous bannisters which I don't have the cash to replace. Oh dear looks like shall have to get some more bags.Shame!!
I decided that the best solution to this vile weather is....crumble. Real comfort food. There are times when an apple just doesn't cut it aren't there!!
