Yaay!!
I'm not working from home!! I'm on leave but any work I do do will be credited to my flexi so I'm quids in really as I do have some major planning that needs to be done by tommorrow.
So can be truly OS today. Will pop BM ad WM on shortly...should probably get dressed too.
DD has dressed herself this morning, thank god we aren't going anywhere. She is wearing red Argyle tights with cream socks with pink and brown dots on them over the tights. A denim pinafore with a white top underneath (I chose them), a khaki bolero style jacket with puffed sleeves and peach trim and to top it all off a very fetching necklace of fuschia, yellow, lime green and lilac. If we do venture out she will be sporting grey fluffy boots too.
At least shes happy wearing it anyway and she's so beautiful she can carry anything off.
Right, what shall I wear...got office clothes sorted last night so am a bit lost..

hi everyone
WM finished for the day; DW ready to unload; DD fast asleep upstairs! :j
And I'm just trying to get up the enthusiasm to finish the (admittedly very minor!) corrections to the thesisso if I'm on here too long, feel free to shout!
Looks like being a good drying day here so far.. Think lunch is going to be jacket pots, and tea will be pasta carbonara. Might have to go to Tesco and investigate those Pringles R&Rs!!
hugs to all

I didn't sleep well last night. Slugs in the kitchen again - I think I'll have to set some beer traps for them. DH can empty them in the morning. They are my real hate (slugs, not beer). Once I saw them I couldn't stop thinking about them all night, imagining them climbing the stairs etc. .
You'll need to find out how they are making their way in, could be a gap somewhere which needs plugging up. Equally, you can then put your beer trap on the outside where they enter, rather than inside where it's tempting them in. They like a warm, moist atmosphere and also if you have any pet feeding dishes down, they will be drawn to those.
Try to console yourself that there is little to tempt them up the stairs as their main focus is food, food, food.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thanks Queenie
I know I'm going to have to steal myself to this.
I think its something to do with the water outlet. I'm afraid they may have laid eggs inside though - eeeuuggh!
Scary thing is I've only recently noticed them through waking in the night. I can clearly see the trails though and I never noticed them before. So hopefully it's a new occurrence."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
Hello OSers *waving*
Well, glory be I've got no animals to relieve themselves anywhere in my house anymore and I seem to be avoiding any germs so far this year - big big hugs for anyone who is feeling under the weather. Although my right eye feels like it's gonna get another infection - just in time for all the birthday snaps at the weekend - grrrr!
Took DS to docs, he'd been on anitbiotics for his gammy foot, now they've decided it's athletes foot (although to say that is an understatement - you should see it! Yerrrrk! It's minging!) and he's now on anti fungal cream instead. Think he's a little disappointed it's only athletes foot and not leprosy
Working from home but so far remarkably little work done - must crack on. Then will be painting kitchen again and hopefully making a start on DS's bedroom as I have people sleeping in it this weekend and it is shocking!

:hello: Hello! and Eid greetings to those who are celebrating Eid!
My lovely neighbour and her little girls, all dressed up like little princesses, knocked on the door this morning with a lovely plate of cakes and wished me a Happy Eid! I had a lump in my throat I was so touched! Also a bit embarrassed as was still in my dressing gown, feeling sorry for myself with my sore tooth:o Anyway I got to work straight away and made an Eid Mubarak card for them to say thank you.
So far today the bm is on with a fresh loaf and the remains of the old one are being turned into a bread and butter pud. I am going to use cranberries instead of sultanas as that is what I have in cupboard and I have to keep to a very small budget of £9.50 (after the fruit and veg box is paid) so hope this works out ok. A butternut squash is in the oven roasting ready to make some soup (living on soup at the moment:rolleyes: )
Breakfast - yogurt
Lunch - tomato soup with grated cheese
Dinner - butternut squash soup, spicy lentil pie that needs using.
Hope all that are poorly feel better very soon

Not really well enough to go shopping, but don't have to go into hospital which is great news. (Although I have till Friday to see if they've changed their minds.)
Broth simmering nicely in the slow cooker. Haven't been able to face lunch, but DS has had cheese quiche (reduced) and grated carrot followed by fruit salad. DH is off work sick, but we've sold some of our things on ebay and has made a tidy profit.
So, we're the house of poorly (DS has a cold and was up on and off all night because his nose was blocked.) But we're looking after each other pretty well so you can't really get better than that.
Eid greetings to all who are celebrating. And more hugs to anyone who feels like one! In fact, even if you don't feel like a hug, have a look at this gorgeous video. Have the sound on if your computer has any.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Blimey, what a day!
OH was up most of the night with indigestion (we had dinner quite late last night & it was a bit rich!), so not a fab night's sleep for me. But still, I was up at 7am, out of the house by 8 on my way to a client meeting in Warwick.
At 9 o'clock I was parked up in Sandbach services with plumes of smoke coming out from under the bonnet!! Called the AA, who found a fuel injector leak - basically fuel had been spraying all over the (hot) engine and I was lucky it didn't catch fire! Car was in for a service on Friday, so it seems as if they've forgotten to tighten something up. It's back there now being sorted.
So am now on an enforced work from home day - trouble is Friday was one too, so I've not actually got that much to do.
But there's plenty to do around the house, so will crack on in a bit.
Hugs to all, glad it's not just me having a rotten start to the week0
